Lets just say I'm not a fan of chasing my contractor to find out when they will or will not show up. Especially when it is weeks of non-communication and then I have to reach out to find out where the contractor is to be told they will show up and then weeks go by again and they don't. (2) Poor workmanship on quite a few items by his crew with no project management oversight to correct issues as they arose. Only showing up when things had to be fixed and taking his crews word that items were done and done well versus seeing for himself. Interior bedroom doors put in but door jams not properly flushed (my mom and I had to fix it ourselves), windows installed so improperly that the owner himself had to come out to fix what his crew messed up, and even something as simple as caulking a bathroom tub had to be redone by the owner as the crew couldn't handle even that. (3) Incomplete projects that were partially started and then never completed to the point where after numerous excuses and being ghosted for months, I finally had to cancel the contract with this company and hire another company at increased cost just to complete the projects that this company started and never finished. This included exterior windows, exterior siding and exterior door. Portions of these incomplete (door sils, window sils and exterior siding) items were open to the elements for months during the dead of winter. Some projects I had on contract never even got started from bathroom vent and barn door installation. Overall, I would NOT recommend this company. The owner is very nice and he has one really good worker he calls "bob the builder" but overall the rest of the team seems pretty inexperienced. I would rather have a contractor that is less personable but did the job, versus one that is nice but can't execute it. The owner while very nice does not communicate well and does not conduct good project oversight management or he would have been on top of his crew when they made major errors and provided subpar workmanship.

Towards the end of last year, I had several companies come out and quote for a full roof…read morereplacement. Golden Group gave me the best feeling about the job from the initial discussion. Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

Segundo and Iliana, the owners of this opperation, are both professional, hard working, honest, and most importantly they are compassionate about the exicution of their work for their costomer. I have been involved in many trades and also have a neon sign business of my own, so I know how important communication and quality mean to a customer. At the onset of this project I was not pleased as the large national Co. that sold me the job. They were not executing as I was expecting, running late, and not replying to phone calls. The job was tentativly to start on July 6th, but was never scheduled, then it was scheduled to have materials dropped on the 10th, and start on the 13th. On the 13th A JJ brothers truck comes up the driveway; however, there has not been a material drop. This is fine, I know things happen, but let me know. My wife tried to contact the sales company that sold the job - no answers and no return calls. Then she called the number on the JJ truck, Iliana promptly picked up. she reached out to the sales Co. and found out that the materials where behind schedule. Then she confirmed the would be in at the end of the week and the install would start on Monday. Sure enough the material came in on Friday, and the JJ crew was here at 7:30 Monday morning. The crew worked steady the first day and wrapped up after a long day. Day two, again early on the job sight and quick to work. When I came home I had several questions, and a few concerns. I gave Iliana a call and she said she was going to be on sight the next day. When the crew rolled in she was right there with them at 7:30am. She introduced herself as the crew began there setup for the day. I walked her and Segundo through the job sight and asked her question as well as pointed out a couple of concerns. Their willingness to walk with me and answer any of my concerns was exceptional. They assured me I would be pleased with the results. The next day Illiana came out with the crew again. we talked and she asked how I was feeling about the job. I was pleased with the progress and the quality as I watched the crew exicute their craftsmanship. However, where this is a replacement siding job, some issues came up that the sales Co. did not either address in the quote, or missed totaly. Not a problem. Segundo and Iliana took it in stride and corrected these issues with out a second thought. I thanked them for their professionalism. Iliana replied it is our pleasure. Yes it is a job, but our passion is for you and your home. We are going to do the job the correct way, we want you to love the job we do and to love your home. JJ Brothers has earned my respect. Although Segundo has been doing roofing and siding for over 25 years, the JJ brothers company with Segundo and Iliana was formulated 15 years ago. I know I have read many positive reviews, but I thought I would add mine. I am so pleased with them and their crew that I will recomend them any chance I get.
