I asked Richard to install 2 lengths of Ethernet cable to the exterior of my property between 2 recessed boxes and 1 surface mount box. The interior work was competent, although he left a considerable mess. The exterior cabling however was extremely poorly executed in terms of being both very unsightly due to his routing of the black cable up and down all over place between cream render and brickwork rather than properly along a mortar joint, as well as leaving the cable poorly attached and extremely loose. On follow up with Richard, he started to become condescending and seemed to blame any and everything else (including me, the house & the cable) for the problem rather than trying to rectify the issue. He continued to be rude and unhelpful (bordering on offensive) in further email correspondence even after we corrected the cabling appearance and removed the excess slack ourselves.
If you want a basic competent electrician, then I'm sure Richard is ok. If you want a professional tradesman who takes care and pride in his work, then find someone else. read more
