This was a tough call between a 3 Star or 4 Star. The place is cute and the service was good but there are some issues for travelers that should be considered.
This was NOT a weekend getaway for us, it was a night of traveling as we were headed to the Dover cruise terminal the next day. So we had 4 bags for 10 days on the cruise and with no elevator going up and down was a tough call.
I also was surprised to see that hot water was available from 6 AM to 10 AM and then again from 4 PM to 11 PM. So no shower for you at 3 PM? Just seems kind of odd to me.
The other issue was the fact that at 10 AM, they shut down so no way to get an extra or late checkout. Also no way to leave your baggage in the hotel while you explore the town.
We did find it convenient to take the bus [coach] to Dover even though we it was by coincidence that we were waiting for an Uber driver.
The hotel is also an older building with its consequences but again it is cute and quaint. I would stay for a night away but not a great choice to stay on a longer trip. Those stairs are steep and narrow for larger luggage. read more
