The inside of the restaurant stinks like dirty old wet carpet. I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the admirals feast and the clams were like what you would get from the bottom of a bag, crumbs for the most part. The scallops were not much bigger than a nickel and the fish pieces were about 4 inches long at most. I could've gotten the same meal at a fast food seafood restaurant for a lot less and been more than satisfied! Hubby got the sirloin and rock lobster. Waited to be seated but there was no one at the host table. A lady finally came and told us it was going to be a five minute wait, which we didnt mind. Only thing that was good out of the whole time of being there was probably our server josh, he was the best. My boyfriend and I both order our own custom ultimate feast so we both ended up spending a total of $75-$78 today. My plate of food still had shell on it that was supposed to have been cleaned and taken out (the shrimp Ragoon)and also my snow crab leg tasted nasty. It was so dry there was no flavor to it. It tasted like its been cooked a long time ago and was just sitting around till someone else orders it. And the lobster tail tasted very rubbery. Excellent service & excellent food. I ordered the salmon with broccoli, green beans and a Caesar salad. I ordered a skewer of shrimp. I wish they had an option for salmon and shrimp combo but oh well. This worked. My waitress was also the hostess that day and she was killing it. Had lunch on Sunday. It's an old building but has been taking care of. Was greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Was seated. The waitress was friendly. Management team pretty good, but it seems that there are a few employees that they maybe are afraid of, therefore they can let there guests walk out and there is no repercussion. My hubby ordered a steak & a lobster stuffed potato. He was very happy with both. I got the Seafood Trio and chose the almond-crusted salmon, lobster Mac and cheese, & shrimp scampi. The salmon was dry and over-cooked. Instead of being crusted with almonds, a few slivers of toasted almonds and a handful of panko crumbs were scattered over top of the fish. Not sure what purpose the breadcrumbs were supposed to serve. The salmon came on a bed of tasteless pilaf. Yuck. The lobster mac was... weird. Not bad, exactly, but I doubt I'll ever order it again. The cheese sauce was runny and lacked flavor, though the lobster pieces were yummy and cooked properly. The scampi is one of my favorite items on Red Lobster's menu and it was predictably good tonight. Yummy! For dessert we ordered a chocolate chip lava cookie/cake combo. Very, Very slow service. It took heaven and earth to get salt & pepper. Once the wait staff leaves the table good luck getting them to come back. I had to get up at least three times to try to find somebody to get salt and pepper after having already asked my waitress twice, & to get lemons which normally come with your meal. My Bahama Mama came without the signature rum floating on top which I enjoy. I feel like because of covid-19 restaurants are getting over and not being a on top of things as you would think that they would be given that they're operating on a limited menu & reduced customer capacity you would think they could get it right. When I first got there and was taken to a table it took at least 15 minutes or more for someone to even come to my table & acknowledge me. The manager was nowhere in sight. I kept looking for people to ask for at least a glass of water or something! So while I was sitting there I started phone # to actually call the Red Lobster number hoping to get someone to pick up so I could tell them I was needing service in the restaurant. I did this twice. There was one waitress who really seemed to be on top of things and made sure her table was always attended to. I was wishing that she was my waitress. I was eating alone and what should have been a one-hour 15 min meal took several hours because of all the wait time! Also, they're only offering a caesar salad. Why would you choose to offer the Caesar salad over the garden salad? A garden salad is more versatile. And then you can't even get a fully loaded baked potato anymore they don't offer bacon bits. You know there was a grocery store nearby. I guess I'll have to bring my own. That makes no sense to me. Sometimes you have to wonder is it even worth going out anymore with the subpar service & limited menu that you get nowadays @ many restaurants. I don't normally leave reviews but me and my fiancé went here today and it was absolutely terrible. He ordered lobster and everything he got was cold. I ordered steak medium well and it came out rare. I tried to get the waiter to come take it back but she never came back to ask if we needed anything. Finally I got another waiter to get the steak fixed but then when she brought it back the steak was to chewy to even eat. Many people in there was also complaining about the food. Everything was fine until my boyfriend got his steak done incorrectly twice and his second steak looked old. He still tried it and it didn't sit well with his stomach and he's currently throwing up. Would have given a 5 star rating but was disappointed that I only got one scallop in the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake. Other than that, it was DELICIOUS!! Lobster was cooked to perfection, and the portion was plentiful. Had to take most of it home. My husband had the Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia, in which his portion looked smaller then pictured, but he said it was also delicious! Our children had the Seaside Shrip Trio, and they LOVED it! The Lobster Bisque soup is always a favorite when we go there. When we 1st walked in, the waiting area was packed! They told us that it would be a 45 min wait. We ended up only waiting for 25 mins. We went New Years Eve at 6. We knew there would be a wait, but it was a long one. I didn't see a full house in the dining room or in the lobby. And once we got to the table they told us what was no longer available (no soup, and other items would take too long). The wait for food would be extra long, they said. Then came the silverware, it was plastic. Then came the salads in Togo containers and they were tossed, as in tossed into a container. The appetizer was on a bed of bagged coleslaw. Not like advertisement. Not to mention, but when the main course finally arrived, my scallops and shrimp looked done on one side but were still slimy on the other side. We won't be back. When I asked about some of the issues, they told me that they had requested a manager for other tables and the manager would not be available. The best thing about this evening was the bread. I have been going to Red Lobster since I was 5. This meal was inedible. My mother actually got sick at the table after eating the Bar Harbour Bake. Service was very slow. Food was under cooked. My husband had the Admiral's Feast. Could not eat it. I had the Ultimate Feast and my lobster was not cooked properly. Mom worked in seafood restaurants for 20 yrs. Said the lobster was under cooked and didn't taste right. No discounts off the meal. The manager requested my mothers name and phone number for "legal" reasons. PLEASE call her tomorrow. I'm sure the 81 year old would LOVE to tell you what she thinks of your food. read more

First review with the Galaxy Note 5. One of us had the broiled salmon and one of us had the broiled trout. Broiled salmon looked good, looked well cooked. The broiled trout didn't have real butter - it was a buttery oily covering and too much of it. Broccoli was over steamed. We had an excellent meal. Our appetizer came after our entrees & the manager delivered it stating he was taking it off our bill. This wasn't an issue for us. After 2 baskets of biscuits, salad & chowder, we really didn't need the appetizer anyway. Our entrees were prepared perfectly. Our waitress, Megan, was sweet and attentive. I didn't catch the manager's name, but he was proactive with immediately noticing the appetizer coming out after our meal before we even had the chance to say anything. I came to this location for my boyfriends birthday and was very disappointed. It was mid day and they were not busy. They seemed as if they wanted us out in a hurry, they rushed our salads out as soon as we get our appetizer along with our mixed drinks. We had barely taken a bite of the salad and they were bringing the entrees out. It soon became apparent they wanted to rush us so the whole crew could sit in the dining room around us and talk. Friendly staff but horrible food. I ordered the Parmesan crusted tilapia and a half pound of snow crab legs. The crab legs come out before anything else and were gross. The tilapia was mushy and way under cooked. I sent it back and watched my family pick through what was good on their plates and What wasn't until they were done. It took at least 45 min after I sent the food back for it to be placed back in front of me. By that time we just wanted to leave. The manager payed for the tilapia dinner and was really nice. How can I begin to describe the INCREDIBLE service we were given on the evening of Nov. 23, 2012?! My husband and I had been separated for 2 months and I was flying back from Idaho to reconcile with my husband. He had called Red Lobster in Gastonia to ask if he could reserve a private table. Little did he know that the staff there would not only give us a private table, but they went out and got a dozen red roses, balloons, candles, and a beautiful card! We were given exceptional service by our waitress, Aggie. We will NEVER forget what these wonderful people did for us on the first day of our new life together! They went above and beyond anything we could have ever expected and we are eternally grateful for such kindness and love. THANK YOU to all the staff who had a part in this wonderful evening!!!!! Worst red lobster I have ever been to. Dirty inside. The staff were cleaning the tables off by scraping all table "stuff" on to the floor. I watched in horror as two different staff members did this. Salad was not washed I took a bite and got a mouth full of sand or dirt, at least I hope to god it was sand or dirt. Screwed up my dinner order. When they finally corrected it it was awful tasted terrible. I have never had an experience at any red lobster this bad. Ever !! Just avoid this location !! read more

Eating here was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The initial wait for a table was about 45 minutes when we were told 15 to 20, and things only got worse. While being seated my coworker sat down into a pile of ice, to have the hostess respond, "That's free of charge" and walk off. The sad thing is that was the best service we got all night. The waitress failed to get us drinks in the first 20 minutes. After ordering we were bought biscuits but they failed to be warm, as was the case with all of the food. The when the food arrived my dish was cold, and my coworkers dish was wrong. What they brought him wasn't even on the menu. When he asked the waitress responded that it was what he ordered, rudely. My other coworker asked how we had ordered something that wasn't even on the menu. She then agreed to fix it. At the end of the meal, she brought three separate checks as requested but she charged me for the dish to fix my coworkers problem. Then to get this fixed took an additional 20 minutes. To say the least, not only will I never eat at this restaurant again I may never go back to any Red Lobster again. read more

If you have Lobster in your name you better know how to cook one. Not only can this bunch cook lobster but if my meal was any indication, there is not much seafood they can't cook. My wife and I went to this restaurant knowing full well that it is a chain and not expecting much more than an "OK" meal. From the greeting at the door the the delightful waiter to the cheese biscuits all the way through dessert, the entire experience was stellar. We both got the lemon butter trio with lobster, scallops and shrimp, all grilled and each was perfectly cooked, no small feat, and sauced with a spectacular lemon butter concoction that put an already great meal over the top. The langostino baked potato was great too. For dessert we picked the trio of apple crostada, brownie with ice cream and cheesecake. the brownie and apple crostada were hot and the ice cream was cold and the cheese cake was perfect. Lunches don't get much better than this. I knocked off a star because I have a hard time giving any restaurant a perfect score and to be honest, the bill for lunch for 2 was over 90 bucks and we only drank water and didn't have an appetizer. But all in all it was at least a 4 1/2 star experience and we can't wait to go back. read more

Once a year for a long time I have looked forward to the lobster specials during LobsterFest at Red Lobster. Since I am retired, living on Social Security, this is only a yearly treat. Every year, for a long time, I have been more than happy with my lobster dinner here. This year it was different, unfortunately. We chose to go for Sunday dinner becausee we felt we'd get the freshest food then. That may have been correct, but as you'll see, when I got my food, freshness was difficult to tell. This year, I started with a mohito, which was completely un-drinkable it was so bitter. Instead of muddling the mint, the bartender had apparently muddled a slice of lime, skin and all. I added sugar, then artificial sweetener. Nothing could remove the bitterness. I ended up leaving the drink almost untouched on the table when we left. The salad with Ranch dressing was good. I had the Lobster Lovers Dream, which has both rock lobster and Maine lobster tails, plus baby shrimp with pasta. I was sooo sad to find that both of the lobster tails were "hammered", so over-cooked as to make it difficult to cut through them with a table knife (which was all they gave me). I hated to ask for a re-cook, since my waiter could barely slow down from a dead run. I don't know if that was his choice or his employer's. But it served to keep us from asking for a re-do of my lobster plate because we felt sorry for him. I probably should have saved that pity for us, since the overall meal was so bad. I will remember in the future, tho', that a good wait person would notice if you're not eating or drinking & they would ask what was wrong. He never noticed anything. He was determined to move as quickly as he could, whatever the reason was...the sign of a bad waiter. A good waiter(ress) might be interested in racking up as many tips as he/she can, but their customer would never know it. The customer is made to feel they are the wait person's main priority. My wife and I recently decided to go back to the Red Lobster restaurant in Gastonia, NC and give it another go. It was our final time at the restaurant. While the service was good, the meal was a different story. The pricing is still outrageous for any of their lobster meals. Coming from the North, I know what a good lobster meal would cost. I ordered the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake ... when one thinks of Bar Harbor, one would think Maine. The clever wording "lobster tail" in the Bar Harbor meal would automatically think "Maine Lobsta" ... well, it was the tasteless Rock Lobster in this Bar Harbor Lobster Bake, not the succulent Maine Lobster one would expect from the title of the meal. We have decided not to return to this restaurant; which I understand is a mute point, given the Red Lobster chain is on its way out. read more
