I went to get 3 nails replaced last Wednesday 11/24 n yesterday 11:28 one of the tips already had come half way off! So I go in to see if they fix it and to my surprise I was asked to pay 2 dollars n I look confused and asked why would I have to pay to fix their error . I've been going here for years. The reason I loved it is because they're so efficient that there's never been a long wait. The quality of work is great most of the time. My issue with this place is that they're over priced. The price seems to change every time. Today I find out what I paid for a pedicure and just polish on my hand (gel for both) was the same price my mom paid for a pedicure and manicure and we get the same pedicure so I know it's accurate. They take advantage of you, and got an answer for everything. If you're good with paying extra then by all means come here but I'll be taking my money elsewhere. read more

Yelp should really have the option for 'zero stars'. That being said, this place is the worst when it comes to sanitation, customer service, and overall results. This is probably my 3rd visit here, and they usually do a good job. I went in today for a gel manicure and basic pedicure. Let's start with the pedicure, there was no wait time, the lady already had the water running when I go to sit. I go to put my feet in and the water is burning hot, I tell her to add cold and she does. When it comes time to trim one toe nail, she clips the skin on the one next to it. And she tells me "It's ok, no bleeding." I promptly tell her blood or not that it hurt. While she's finishing trimming the other toes, it starts to bleed, a lot. I'm tense because now I fear for the rest of my toes. So she gives me a half-assed pedicure since now I can't tolerate the water or anything else she's supposed to do on my feet. Still charged me full price even though my feet where in the water for like 3 min. In total she spent 15 minutes on my feet. When she was done with my feet she rinsed all her tools in the pedi tub and then went to do someone's manicure. No type of disinfection after doing my feet and now someone is getting their hands done.... SMH Now my gel mani.. I had a previous gel manicure so she had to do the soak off to remove it. She did the whole buff it off thing and then soaked my nails in a little dish with acetone. That was all cool. But after, she poured the acetone BACK into the container for reusing with other people. Really??? After my nails have been soaking in it, that's just gross. When she was done with the whole gel manicure process and it came time for the "massage", she put some light purple lotion and once it was rubbed in, it left my skin feeling like I had soaked it in bleach. Just very dry. My cuticles are white and ashy looking. If you squint and look at my manicure, it looks good lol. The polish is bumpy and uneven. So now I'm left wondering if I will catch some kind of infection or fungus thanks to this cut on my toe. Excuse me while I go rub something on my dry hands. Next time I'll make sure to spread my toes wide to avoid getting nicked I guess.. Maybe I should just DIY my mani/pedi. Oh and the lady doing my gel mani stopped halfway through to take video of everyone in the shop to post on her Facebook or Snapchat or something. read more

I took a break and visited other nail shops and came back to them a couple months ago because they're so close to my house. BUT they're nail polish quality is not so great. My pedicures don't last two weeks before they start chippin and it sucks. Im not a regular here but I had visited a couple times before for pedis and manis, I was in the area so i stopped by. Went in for a gel manicure on a weekday morning and was seated pretty fast to a trash service. I was greeted by an older lady and was given lukewarm water with no soap just water to soak my fingers in. Then during her version of cuticle cutting she kept picking at the corners of my nails causing me pain everytime. She kept going at it until she made me bleed from my ring finger and couldn't make the bleeding stop. Once she controlled that situation she pulled, tugged, and slammed my hands around the rest of the manicure and then charged me $25 while she stood around for her tip. Worst manicure ever! Let's start off by saying, i will NOT EVEN GIVE THEM A STAR...but if i MUST it would be one star for the woman who did my nails. I walked in with the mindset that I would be getting a Gel manicure and Pedi. Smh. They sat me in the last chair across from the microwave and and in the chair that didn't work (massage). The woman who did my nails sat and watched me as i looked through the gel colors, she kept giving me suggestions because I was taking too long. After feeling pressured I finally decided I was not going to give them any extra money, simply the basics. I wanted a regular manicure and pedicure, yellow polish on my nails and clear on my fingers. The whole time I remained calm and was very respectful, it was not their fault I picked there establishment..(lesson learned) One lady sucked her teeth and attempted to convince me to get gel, I replied no thank you. Moving forward the woman who did my nails was extremely rude. They also ONLY accept cash and have it nowhere posted, so unless you're a regular there you would have no idea. okay... well i will start by saying me and my bestie have decided to keep up on our beauty and we just recently started out this as our first experience which might I add was horrible... I have no idea the names of the people who were taking care of us, we barely even got a greeting at the door. I went in for a mani- pedi, my friend just a manicure. There were three ladies in the salon and the appearance didnt look to bad so I was still optimistic. I told them what i wanted and I was ordered to pick a color. I could barely understand what the lady was saying as she was doing my pedicure. She kept insisting on adding things which also would add to the cost I didnt like her trying to auction off everything they offered. To make it even worse the pedicure didnt feel good at all, it actually hurt she was rough didnt give me a massage and scrubed my feet like she was trying to started a fire. I said ouch and pulled my feet back but she payed no mind, probably because her english wasnt too good, but i told her it hurt. As soon as she was done she rushed off. That turned out to be $25. The manicure for me didnt turn out to be so bad, as for my friend her polish wasn't even it was globbed in some spots. the only thing i could of complained about was she could of did a better job about cleaning under my nails. I got some hot oil treatment to diminish peeling on my fingers but the next day seems as if i had more then what i had before this experience. I ended up spending $42. It wasn't worth it at all I could of went to the swapmeet and got better service and quality plus design for half the price. just a heads up. read more

This place is small, affordable, and comfortable. I went in two separate times. First time was for Christmas. Now, mind you all, when I came in the first time, I haven't had my nails done in over 10 years. Yes, that's right, 10 years. Last time I had my nails done before Red Persimmon was at a place that charged me $40 for a full set. The place was fancy and they sliced my cuticle right open. I left with a bloody finger and my money. BUT! I came to this place and explained to them not to cut my cuticles due to the scar tissue. Done. Then I asked them to make my nails pointy and sharp and red. Done. Awesome, and all for $20. Second time I came in they did a pedicure with the massage chair for $15. It was awesome! I loved the massage chair and the way my toenails looked after the hour. They got close on the cuticles on my feet, though, which is the missing star. They are warm, welcoming, and friendly. I only came here because my sister recommended me this place. I my self love getting my nails curved no matter what ! Well I came in it was already 4:30 so it seemed pretty busy ( since theres graduations and proms around this month ) So once I came in they asked what I wanted and I told them full set. Ok wait 5 mins ok.. My sister told them to get Thau to make my nails( I just followed along since this was my first time here ) so we waited about 15 mins :/... Finally he was available, I told him that I wanted curved nails , when I told him that he just had this real confused look ... So I eventually had to sort of play charades with him :| ....he finally got it! So he looks for the box of curved nails. Takes him a good 5 mjns to finally find the box, once he started glueing the nails he was shaking like there was no tomorrow, I kindly ask him if he was ok, he just laugh and said "yes I'm ok" ... Took him awhile to glue the nails. He finally started putting on the acrylic. He still continue shaking, in my mind I though this poor man was going to have some sort of stroke/ heart attack !after over 1 hour of sitting he finally finished.when I seen my nails Ohh lord ! Was I disappointed (smh) my nails looked just awful :( ... He gave me the excuse that no one gets curved nails anymore , that was the most stupid excuse I had ever heard!! I had to pay $25 for some funky looking nails smh talk about over priced ! We're I usually go they charge me $28 for full set with nail design... Next time I'll just stick to my usual place at plaza mexico we're it's cheaper and they know how to do good beautiful nails !! My mom has been a regular customer for over a year now and as a diabetic it's always risky to get her nails done because of the possibility of cuts. After trying out this salon she liked it and did her pedicures here for a while. However one day while we both got our pedicures done she leaned in and told me that the lady had cut her and the woman tending to her had quickly just put a towel over the toe and tried making it pass as though she had done nothing. My mom received no apology and essentially no acknowledgement of what had even been done. She had to get antibiotics because the cut does not heal fast because of her sickness. This happened a few months ago but I recently saw on the news of a similar incident and people need to know that the staff here DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR GUESTS. NEVER coming back here again. By far one of the worst nail salons that I have been to. They have plenty of people working but no one is available for a manicure on time. The place was dirty and these ladies talking about their customers which is extremely unprofessional! As far as my nails go. The lady asked me if I wanted a gel manicure instead of a regular manicure literally like 10 times after I told her no every time. She cut my nails super short after I told her I only wanted them trimmed out period at the end when I was ready for college I decided to go clear and she used a top coat for a clear polish. I asked her 3 times if that's the clear polish she assured me that was the only clear polish they have. I'm sorry but what do you put on top of nail polish after it's done? Umm clear Polish, right. Nope they don't. Anyway, not happy with 1 thing there. Ohhh and to top it off, it's a cash only place. When I went to use ATM they tell me it has no cash! Get your things straight here read more

I gave this place a try despite the negative reviews because it was convenient and I'm short on time this week. The staff was pleasant but, I'm extremely disappointed. During my pedicure the nail tech cut my toe, it wasn't severe and I appreciate her trying to get all the dead skin but she didn't even acknowledge the cut. She didn't apologize or dab it with cotton, nothing. She was also a little careless with the scrubber. She kept scraping my ankle and when I would flinch she would make reference to the fact that the pummus stone "tickles" but my ankle is now scraped up. Lastly, I paid for a gel pedicure. I returned to work and when I took my shoes off the polish is smudged and completely removed from one toe. Gel polish dries instantly after sitting under the UV lights. I've never had this happen and I think they used either regular polish or extremely low quality gel. I won't be returning. Pleasant smiles and conversation aren't sufficient. read more

Right away I noticed this was a cash only place and I did see there ATM so I figured I could just take out money after wards. They told us to pick a color, and the color selection is horrible. For a nail salon you expect racks of colors but there is only a few to choose from, I have a better selection at home. After we finally chose a color they started with my niece first and her pedicure was not even called a real pedicure. She didn't even bother soaking her feet in water until it was mentioned. They started my manicure and pedicure at the same time, the lady that was doing my manicure was in such a rush and kept pushing for a gel/color. I just wanted a manicure and a clear polish. She was clearly upset I didn't get a gel manicure. She started to file/cut my nails and they ended up looking uneven and crooked. The filing was such a horrible job my nails feel so uneven. She also made 3 of my fingers bleed when cutting my cuticles. She then blamed my skin for bleeding and said she couldn't get my cuticles. Now I have uneven ugly filed nails and ugly cuticles. I have been coming to this nailshop for years and today what I have experienced is nothing but pure disgust. I come in to get a manicure and pedicure. I asked for a regular manicure and they kept asking me if I wanted gel I mentioned I just want a regular manicure with no polish and my pedicure with polish. As the lady is taking my previous gel off she is missing spots and uses used cotton from a previous client to take off my nail polish. The lady doing my pedicure is digging into my flesh on the side of my big toe nail. She is doing my callous remover and one of the workers asked for some money and she stops what she is doing with wet gloves touch some money and continues to proceed with dealing with my feet. When I tell her I don't want anything else anymore she tries to make it up by giving me a massage and she doesn't try to dry my legs she keeps my legs wet and puts lotion and oil on. UGH I'm disgusted and I will be reporting this Salon. Not only did the person(Dee) pour the liquid used to soak my nails back into the container that he would be using for the next consumer. The woman doing my pedicure cleaned the utensils used for my pedicure by swishing them in the water my feet just soaked in. She DID NOT poor any alcohol on them nor did she use the disinfectant to clean them afterwards, she gingerly placed them back into her cubby to use on the next person. OMG I have never been so angry. I did call (Dee) over and explained how unsanitary and dangerous that was to reuse that solution. I'm more upset at the fact that Compton has such a bad reputation anyway, however the vast majority of people who live here are honest & hardworking , WE deserve better treatment and it is appalling that "They" come into our community and think it is ok to treat us like we don't deserve quality service. We are not paying any less for service that our neighboring cities are paying for the same service. Why would we get less quality.
