My friend told me that this store is expensive, but awesome. I finally decided to check it out, because I have been dying to find some unique clothes. I thought Red Ribbon was going to be another one of those stores that frustrates me, because either the clothes are too expensive or too small for me to fit in. When I first walked in, I thought it looked like such a nice store. It was kind of dim, with spotlights. The hardwood floors were dark, and the clothes looked eclectic. I started looking through one rack of shirts, and I was kind of shocked to see plain cotton shirts selling for $70. I kept looking through different racks, and what I started to notice was that the prices really varied. There were a lot of very expensive clothes, but there was also some very affordable clothes. I didn't see that many bigger sizes, but I eventually came across two really cool shirt dresses in my size. I tried them on, and the black on fit perfectly. And the best part was that it was marked down from $69 to $35! I couldn't believe what a good deal that was for such a nice shirt. I noticed on the receipt that this store only offers store credit or exchanges, but I am quite sure I won't be returning this shirt. They also had some awesome purses and bags, but these were well over a hundred dollars. I love this store, and I would give it five stars, if they carried more larger sizes. I will definitely be stopping by here quite often from now on. read more

I stumbled upon Red Ribbon's instagram account and saw they were having an amazing pre-Black Friday sale (extra 50% off sale items!) and picked up a cart full of things. It's free to pick it up in-store, so that's the option I chose. I placed the order late one evening and then received an email the next morning that my order was ready for pick up! Super fast! Walking into the store, you realize how large it is - it's quite deceiving from the outside. It's beautiful inside and it smells lovely; not sure if they had an air freshener or a diffuser or something like that, but it's a wonderful, light and calming scent that greets you. My order was ready behind the counter, but walking around the store I noticed a huge array of both men's and women's clothing, home decor, greeting cards, tons of candles and soaps and it goes on and on. If I didn't have to get back to work, I could easily spend a while browsing through there. The items I bought were lovely and also had a faint hint of the pretty scent from the store. I can't believe how many times I Have been near Red Ribbon without stopping in. Red Ribbon is located on High Street, directly underneath a popular Starbucks. It is more of a clothing and accessories store than a gift shop - but hey, clothes and accessories can be bought as gifts, right? Most of the fashions are for women, and include dresses, shirts, blouses, and all the trimmings to go with them. I noticed the prices were a bit on the high side, but the quality and selection seemed decent. I also noticed fashion jewelry, handbags, and some small gift items. There is usually a sale - when I was there I was tempted by a multi-coloured tote, but decided it wasn't in my budget nonetheless (yay self-control!). When you first step into Red Ribbon, it can be a bit overwhelming because it's quite the feast for the eyes. Located underneath Starbucks in the High Street district (by stairwell), it's a trendy and funky little shop that is crammed with goodies. Although they are listed as a gift shop, it is mostly a clothing store. But you could just as easily get some of these great items as gifts. I listed Red Ribbon as pricey, but really it's more like in between moderate and pricey. Pricey if you get something regular-priced, but moderate if you can get it on sale. And there was lots on sale when I went yesterday! Their clothing brands include lines such as Vero Moda, Kenzie, and Free People. They have lots for women, but a small corner for men. Red Ribbon has tons and tons of scarves as well, all in different styles. So if one is too funky for you, you can opt for a silk one for just $15 instead. They have formal dresses and jackets as well, and right now their jeans are up to 60% off. There was so much on sale that day, but most of the sizes left are medium or large. But that's not all they have -- there's way more! Red Ribbon also carries women's undergarments, jewelry, shoes (also on sale), handbags (including the Matt & Nat collection), and home decor items. They had this really cool coconut lamp on sale that I wish I had room for in my house. There are also Buddha decorations here and there throughout the store that are also for sale. If ever I want to find a gift for a fashion-forward female friend, Red Ribbon is my go-to place. Sure, they have pricey items from Joe's Jeans and Free People, but they also have a solid selection of less expensive pieces from other designers that are just as beautiful. Jewelry is displayed both in glass cabinets and on the front cash wrap, and you have a decent amount of selection for handbags in the front nook. Clothes, scarves, socks and hosiery, and other little odds and ends are all over the store for you to peruse. I've never shopped for a guy here, but I am sure that if I wanted to, I'd be satisfied as well. Note- if you're a girl who is handy with a sewing machine or alright wearing men's fit clothes, check out the men's sale rack! I have a feeling that the women's clears out more quickly, and the men's is always chock full of awesome finds for a fraction of their original price. Another tip: sign up for their emails. They're not too frequent, and always let you know about upcoming sales and events, like their Toms promotions and special holiday sales. read more

I stumbled across this High Street shop after a stop at Paddy's and Cloud Nine. My credit card is still burning. The other reviews cover my experience completely: overwhelming amount of stock, cute pieces, fantastic sales, and a lot of boho. I found a pair of shoes that made me swoon (a sucker for shoes), the last pair AND in my size, AND 50% off! the jeans I found were also on sale. The owner was very helpful, but the other clerk was definitely less so. After the clerk waived me toward an area to find a suitable layering piece for the dress that I loved, the owner went hunting for the perfect item, which was the last one in the store. If you're looking for a new favourite pair of jeans, though, make sure to save up your cash to afford the brands Red Ribbon carries. Red Ribbon is a great little shop on High Street just below the Starbucks. They carry an eclectic mix of hipster-chic clothing and some classic pieces. Clothes err on the pricier side but not much more than you would see in any mall - I appreciate that they have lots of really unique, well made, individual pieces. Accessories are a must at Red Ribbon, they have a fantastic collection of scarves (averaging about $22, which for how gorgeous and unique they are, is IMO quite reasonable) and lots of handbags. Red Ribbon also carries a huge assortment of Toms shoes (for both men, women and even kids/infants!!!) Definitely stop into Red Ribbon on a regular basis as they are a small boutique and get new stock in all the time. If you are looking for something pretty that you won't see anywhere else, it is your kind of store. read more

What an awful experience! I am looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and I found one on the Free People website that I love, but didn't want to buy only to find out it didn't fit right and also risk it not arriving in time. I knew from friends that Red Ribbon has a large selection of FP clothes and I went hoping they would have the dress for me to try on, or maybe something else I hadn't considered. Here is the thing, the reason I like to shop at boutiques is that generally the sales people are much more knowledgeable and willing to help than in chain stores. When I walked in the girl who was working was chatting away on the phone, looked at me to acknowledge that I had come in, but that was it. For the full 15 mins that I was browsing, not once did she ask if I, or anyone else in the shop needed help. I had set aside decent amount of money that I was willing to spend on a dress and I walked out disappointed in the awful service and selection. From what I did see, prices were a lot higher for styles that are seasons old. I prefer to support local businesses, but it looks like I'm taking my wallet to the mall. read more

The first time I went into Red Ribbon I got excited. It's such a cheery place and there are so many beautiful, fun things to look it. I remember seeing these cute underpants with the rear covered in ruffles. That was about four years ago, and La Senza has just caught on to the style. This fall, in lingerie shops, there are ruffles everywhere! So, kudos to Red Ribbon for spotting trends ahead of their times and selling edgy, cool stuff. They have a nice selection of novelty gifts, jewelry and handbags, but they've also expanded into men's and women's clothing. They stock some great brands: House of Spy, Matt and Nat, Bauxo, Ponyride, Kersh, Fenchurch, to name a few. The 124 St. district is starting to fill up with really cool shops, and Red Ribbon is one of many now that you'll want to pop into if you're shopping in the area. read more

Firstly , I recommend you check this store out for yourself . It has very cute gift items and I am a fan of their jewelry selection . The clothing pieces are hit and miss and I'm sorry to say some of the pieces are not high quality compared to the quality of the clothing in the other boutiques close by . The change room is comfortable . The clothing is not organized very well in my opinion . All the items are packed so tightly that it isn't enjoyable to look through them . Like I said it's a hit and miss boutique but I definitely recommend you check them out , overall it's still a cute lil shop . I wish the prices weren't so high at Red Ribbon because I'm in love with %80 of their stock. Everything is beautiful and considered and has a bohemian or romantic flair. They also have edgier, more avant- guard pieces as well though. I always seem to walk out of there with just a scarf because its all I can afford. But I have bought key pieces from time to time that stayed in my wardrobe for 2 or 3 years which is a lot in my case. I had gone past here a dozen times and today a combination of my curiosity and reading other people's yelp reviews finally drew me in. I don't follow trends and brand names so I felt some of the clothing was extremely overpriced. There was a "free people" dress there for $120.00 dollars that amusing enough resembled something I found at Winners the other day for $15.00. The accessories are very pretty but honestly they too resemble pieces you can get elsewhere (e.g Groovestone) for a more reasonable price. If you enjoy the boho chic/hippy design trend and brand names are important to you this will be right up your alley but I think in the overall landscape of independently owned fashion and accessory stores in Edmonton these folks are by no means the leader of the pack. read more

I have discovered Red Ribbon only recently. Some of my female friends have been enthusiastically recommending it to me for a while saying that it is unlike any other boutique in Edmonton, and I caved. Red Ribon's owner chose a fabulous location for the store- right in the heart of Edmonton trendiest shopping district; and it does not hurt that it is situated right below the Starbucks. The first time I came in I was very surprised (and,frankly, slightly horrified) with the amount of clothes they had in stock. The hangers are packed with clothes! Besides clothes, there is a wide selection of shoes, bags, and belts. Seems like a heavenly shopping experience? I am sorry, but not for me. Upon closer inspection I have discovered that the quality of the clothes leaves much to be desired, and the overall style of the clothes they sell is too "bohemian" for my taste. Long skirts, flowy dresses, stretched-out T-shirts...mmm...sorry, not for me. I like well-structured clothes that feel substantial and will last me a while, and Red Ribbon's selection is not what I would consider buying.Same goes for the men's clothes they carry. They simply do not have enough quality to them. To end on a lighter note- I do like some of the bags at Red Ribbon (Samsara brand), but they are nothing to write home about. read more

Even though the store was extremely busy, the employees went above and beyond to make sure everyone found what they needed. Red Ribbon is located below the Starbucks in the Highstreet district and is privileged to be in one of the best locations ever! What better way to go shopping that hyped up on Americano? Today was the first time I wandered into this store and I'm not sure if it was the over stimulation of the coffee or the astounding amount of clothing in one space, but what a feast for the eyes! It is hard not to be overwhelmed by the rush of color and pattern as soon as you walk into this place. There is so much to look at that I honestly couldn't focus. This store features ladies and men's wear of the moment. There seems to be a focus on sweaters, loose t-shirts, and long skirts. There are also bags of every size and color, more scarves than I could match with outfits, and very unique shoes and boots. The prices are mid range and they usually have a sale on. I didn't find too much for myself in here except a pair of Joe jeans as the clothes are a little too Hippy-chic for me. The bags and shoes were pretty though. I'm not sure this will become a regular spot for me, but I am glad I have a sure-thing place now for Joe Jeans. read more
