I have never been more distraught over a situation. My dog left Alabama in good health, and after 6 days of being in a van she was filthy, covered in fleas, severely dehydrated and under weight. Fortunately another family with a puppy on this transport took my dog and the other remaining. The vet said my dog wouldn't have made it the rest of the way if she hadn't been kept. It took over 2 months to get her digestive system and weight back to good health. The state of my dog made it clear that she hadn't been taken out of her crate or given any food/water for the duration of her trip. The communication we received from the transporter was minimal and filled with typos and unkept promises. They left Alabama on Thursday, and we were told our dog would arrive Saturday.. then Sunday.. then maybe Monday. The path these dogs were taken on made no sense, Alabama, DC, Wisconsin, and finally Iowa where the remaining dogs were rescued. My dog would have died before she got to Massachusetts from Iowa, not to mention the poor other dog that was supposed to be dropped off in Texas first. It is sad how common bad transporter stories are, and disgusting how many awful reviews this one has while still continuing to function. If you care about your dog, it's worth paying more to a company that actually cares for the lives of dogs, not just profit. Animal abuse. read more

I have used this company to deliver my puppies. I had a man send me a picture of the puppy that was just delivered to him. She was wet wrapped in a rag and barely clinging to life. I told him to rush her to a ER vet. They did not expect her to make it through the night. She was so dehydrated she was there for several days. She made it! Cicillia the owner of the Co. told him she would pay the vet cost and give him back the delivery charge. As to now months later he has not gotten as much as a dime from her. This "company" should no longer be allowed to operate. Myself, and two others paid for transportation of 3 male golden retrievers from Montana to western Washington/Oregon. The day of delivery came and was told by the breeder that her vehicle went to the shop (no communication from her, she only spoke to the amazing breeder) before taking this big trip and it was found that it needed a part for the vehicle to operate and make it through the trip. When asked how long it would be for it to get fixed, there was no approximate date as the part that needed replacing had no ETA to the shop to get fixed. Was there a back-up plan? Absolutely not. Here's the kicker, she used the money we gave her to transport our pups to pay for the repair of the vehicle! So our refunds were said they would be paid back ASAP. ASAP means as soon as possible and doesn't serve as an actual date, or time period. Again...we were expecting the delivery to be that night. All communication was going through our breeder, and never reached out personally to the 3 of us that paid. This was over two weeks ago. I'm honestly glad she did not pick up these 3 puppies after reading the other reviews here on YELP. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

Red River Valley Transport's driver picked up my healthy, active puppy from Sharon L. at around 2 am and a week later delivered her to me as a puppy that was "at death's door" according to the vet at the local emergency animal hospital. The emergency vet's records state, "Discussed with owner that Gracie is very dehydrated and sick. I gave a poor prognosis based on her initial presentation but let them know that it will be dependant on how she responds to initial treatment. Owners would like to pursue aggressive treatment." Once the owner of Red River Valley Transport learned of the condition of my puppy, she called me and apologized for the situation. She stated that she was USDA Licensed and Insured and would pay all my vet bills and even refund my transport fees. At this point I felt pretty good about the owner and that she was going to "make things right" in her words. Today, over two months later, I haven't received any of the money she promised. I'm out $2095 for just vet bills plus part of the transport fee. Now, I don't expect that the owner intends to send me any money. She has continued to make excuses as to why she hasn't met her obligation (promise). It gives me no pleasure to write a negative review of this company. I initially thought the owner was an honorable individual and did intend to "make things right." My situation may have been the only time that this company has had a negative result when transporting a pet; however, this is one time for certain that they haven't met their obligations when something does go terribly wrong. My puppy, Gracie, is doing well now and is active and growing everyday no thanks to Red River Valley Transport. I'm sure that by posting this review I will end any chance of receiving the promised money voluntarily but I cannot let this action go unreported. This company should not be in business they should be in jail!!! They should never be allowed to have or be caregivers for animals ever!! Our new fur baby was coming from a very respected breeder. They picked up healthy dogs and went MIA not returning phone calls and went willy nilly over the country. Thankfully the dogs were confiscated by a caring family in Iowa. The dogs were full of feces, fleas, dehydrated, and underweight. When they put them in a tub to clean them the pups were drinking water faster than the tub could be filled. It appeared that this woman never took these poor pups out of the crate the whole time they were in her "care". These same kind people also took them immediately to a local vet. My dog would not have survived this trip without their kindness. Thankfully our pup is finally healthy and happy after many trips to the vet. I am pleading with you not to consider this company for even a half a second. Please do not use this company. You will be sorry. One star is one star too many. read more

Transporting puppies is risky but my driver Steve was absolutely wonderful and clearly took his job very seriously. Our puppy arrived in excellent condition, perhaps a tad bit dehydrated, but I was in no way concerned. Transporting over-hydrated dogs could be disastrous as you run the risk of frequent urination causing the animals to become wet and in the winter hyperthermia. My dog was delivered in the middle of winter in Colorado. The cost is absolutely reasonable. Cecilia was always available whenever I attempted to contact her.
