I would like to…read morestart this by saying that my "instructor" did not have his ID displayed, he did not show me that he was a certified instructor, which he should have done. So I booked 10 hours worth of lessons in October 2017, things were going okay, although my instructor cancelled lessons, leaving me without driving for 2 weeks. When my 10m hours was up, I could not book another block of hours, I had to go pay-as-you-go, which was very annoying as it became apparent that my instructor took on more people, leaving no time for me so I was driving very inconsistently. After 15 hours, my instructor started asking me to book my test (this is already shady as you need around 30-40 hours driving before you can comfortably drive on your own!). I booked my test for the 26th of January 2018 and just a week before my test, I found out that my instructor actually wrote down the day before, this didn't bother me much as I just took it as human error, however, what he should have done is given me his instructor reference number as that ensures that he will not be double booked. So I rebooked my test for the 23rd of January 2018, the night before my test, I text him to confirm the details; turns out he wrote down the wrong time this time, after telling me there is nothing he can do unless I can bring my own car to the test (which is stupid enough as I've been driving HIS car and was used to HIS car, anyone who knows anything about cars knows that they're all different and take some getting used to, especially for a new driver!). I had to cancel my test and lose £62. The earliest test date he had available was the 13th of March but he did not have the time to teach me throughout February, how he thought I was going ton pass my test without driving for over a month baffles me! Not only that, whenever I attempted to contact him he would not answer his phone or take 4 days to reply to a text message! I decided the best thing to do was to find a new instructor, after one lesson with him it became apparent that the Surepass instructor did not teach me well enough at all, they cut corners whenever possible and DO NOT teach you how to drive! So now instead of my test being in January, I have to wait until April! Side note: My new driving instructor has another student who has come to him from Surepass as she, like me, paid for 10 hours of lessons, the instructor showed up for the first lesson, and never again and she was unable to get her money back.

I failed my driving test 14!! times in the past with various other driving Instructors throughout the years, but MIchael was able to explain driving manoeuvres in such an easy to understand way, that I got it almost immediately. He got me through my test and I am so grateful. I would recommend MIchael Russell to anyone learning to drive, as he is a brilliant driving instructor and a lovely fella. I took an intensive 10 hour course over 2 days with my test at the end of day 2. I really appreciated that the lessons were bespoke and tailored for my needs. Dan has a calm nature which I appreciated. Each lesson finished with goals for the next lesson. If I ever needed to recap anything from general driving to manoeuvres we did it either in the lesson I was having or the following week. My lessons were always planned out and he always made sure I was aware of my abilities on the road as well as other drivers. I'd been driving provisionally with my fiance for 12 months so i only needed around 8 lessons to sharpen up on a few bits. He was totally honest and suggested booking a test after around the 4th lesson. I booked a test a few lessons later and today i passed first time. In the hour leading up to the test Rob kept me reassured and confident which was super important for a person like me. He sat in the back on the test which even though he can't speak or signal to you it does help keep you chilled.
