Sometimes they are late when opening but it's never more than a 15 minute extra wait. The staff are always helpful. They have Plenty of shoe inventory for most laborious foot working jobs. They Except work coupons for shoe purchase and discounts from jobs. They have a new 3D foot imaging machine for more precise shoe fitting size and walking foot precision. Lots of foot related purchases also like sweat wicking socks and custom orthotic foot inserts. I came here today because I needed new construction shoes. My last construction shoes were over 10 years old and you can only imagine how terrible they were since they were so old. This place was solid a year ago when I bought some now nicely worn in Redwings in need of some new laces. I was going to inquire about inventory but I read posts on here about how they don't check the voicemail or inbox, so I figured I'd stop by when I was running errands on that side of town. As I walked up to the storefront a couple guys looked like they were leaving, but I realized the doors were locked and they had been turned away. Mind you, this in the middle of the day during business hours (~2pm on a Tuesday). There was a single customer holding a pair of work-boots in the store talking to the guy behind the desk, who apparently told the customer to tell me (or pantomime through the window) that he was on break and to go away. The store clerk literally sat at his desk, turned away customers, and told the one customer in the store to turn people away. This is shameful. I was happy with the customer service here a year ago but now I won't be coming back to the Emeryville location. I'll take my dollars elsewhere. Redwing boots are great, but this store needs a shakedown from upper management. read more

Wow, what an incredibly unpleasant experience I just had at this location. When asking about the difference between two different boots, the man behind the counter started rattling off selling points on them. I told him I didn't understand what they meant in relation to the differences between the two boots, and asked him to explain differently. He then began repeating the exact same talking points, but in a raised and annoyed tone of voice - as if there was something wrong with me because I didn't know what a "Redwing supersole 2.0" was. I asked him to please not raise his voice with me, at which point he actually yelled to demonstrate what his voice sounded like when it was raised, and then started talking to himself asking Jesus for help. I then asked to speak to the manager, and he told me to leave the store and that he would call the police. I asked him if he was the manager, and he ignored my question and picked up the phone to make a show of the fact that he was calling the police. If you have foot pain or just need a great pair of boots I would check this place out. I stumbled in there (literally) because I work on my feet and my foot had gotten to be hurting so bad that it was hard to walk. Purchased a pair of Redwing insoles and I will never go back to not using them. The pain in my arch was noticeably less immediately and over a month later I'm still feeling good. Redwing products in general are something I have no problem endorsing. They define awesomeness in tough and reliable footwear. I've done 18 mile hikes in their boots and barely felt it in my feet like I should have. Plus this place is clean and has good service. The insoles have a great return and warranty policy but you won't need them. read more

Do not have your boots bucket/leak tested here unless they have the replacement pair in hand. Long story short, I am wearing a very wet pair of boots now because this "bucket" test leaves the inside of leaking boots way more saturated then the leak that prompted the visit and they did not have the replacement pair in stock. The staff lacks pretty obvious foresight or they assume your lying about the leak. Either way it's terrible customer service. read more

Over all Bad experience the manager at this location was great on the other hand The only lady I see that works there has a very badd attitude I was told a size 9 would fit because my right foot is 9 but my left foot is 9 and a 1/2 and I was told the pair 405 boots I purchased would stretch out so I had them tuff toe and purchased a pair of insoles needless to say the job that was done on the tuff toe was horrible they had air bubbles in them so I soon as I were to hit something it would crack open I decided not to wear the boots outside and only walk around my house for about a week it became to the point where my left foot was becoming raw at the tow because they were not stretching I asked my wife to please bring the boots back to return them for the 30 day comfort guarantee and she was denied the return saying the tuff toe was the reason my wife said no on your corporate website it's as unconditional Comfort guarantee for full refund no questions asked so they refunded her for the boots only but did not refund for the tuff toe that was put on in a horrible fashion to begin with these people are into selling boots and making commission only they're not worried about quality of Work take a look at my photos they speck for them self's Right on the very tip of the front top there is a large air bubble just waiting to be Hit and crack open I cannot believe they would keep my $40 for the tufto even though they did such a horrible job and I gave them back brand new boots I wiped off the bottom they could easily be resold there was not a mark or scratch on them. read more

I was even prepared to purchase a pair of boots for rain and fishing also and he recommended me to hold off for a new boot that was more affordable and marketed to people for recreational use rather then buying the work grade boot for $140. My worts buying experience ever!!. The store was empty and the gentleman at the counter was busy taking care of paper work, the second gentleman was cleaning some shoes. Then I asked if I can get some shoes and he asked what size I said 71/2 woman, what size in men's, I said I do not know he got annoying. Then another customer walked in, the first gentleman started to wait on her, he was very pleasant and measured her feet, etc. My salesperson brought the shoes and I told him they were too big and wanted my feet measured, he got annoying again. Finally he brought and smaller sized which I liked but the zipper did not work quite well. I asked him for another pair and he got annoyed again and he said he only have that pair. So I left. I went in with my fiance and witnessed really crappy service. The sales rep., Jesse, was not attentive; not knowledgeable, and could care less about the company or product. My fiance has been looking at this particular pair of shoes for three years, and had previously gone to the Dublin store where the service was impeccable. He didn't buy them then because he was still saving for the shoes and wanted to buy locally. I hope they see this and correct their customer service problem. I went in with my fiance -- he was looking for some new shoes, had been doing his research, and wanted Red Wing shoes. The shoes looked great, and we were seriously considering buying them here if not for the terrible customer service. The manager was paying all of the attention to the old white guy buying shoes, but completely ignored us (not white or greying hair). The other guy working there also pretty much ignored us as well except for bringing a pair of shoes over. The only time the manager said anything to us at all was when he asked whether my fiance was going to buy the shoes or not. Considering he chatted up the other guy for quite some time, I found it really rude and subtly racist. I know we're younger, but don't judge a book by its cover. Red Wings shoes are always my first choice when it comes to work shoes. I try to get a couple pairs every year. This time was my first experience at the Red Wings store in Emeryville, CA and I must say, it was a waste of time. The sales lady wasn't very helpful at all. The only reason she finally measured my feet is so she didn't have to bring all these different sizes out for me to try. She should have done that in the first place when I said I wasn't sure what size I wear. No suggestions were made even though I told her I wanted something different other than the style I always get. So I decided to get the same style shoes just to be on the safe side. I asked her if I can get a union member discount or the industrial discount which I always have no problem getting. Instead, she gave me a blank look and said "the only way I can give it to you is for you to show me your dues card". I said "I don't have it and never had one but I can show you my employee card". I felt like I was begging her to buy shoes and embarrassed for asking for a small discount that I usually get. I was willing to spend my hard earned money to buy a pair of expensive work shoes (even two pairs if she was helpful) but I decided not to after all. The customer service there is really bad. I have purchased red wing boots for almost ten years now this slash year I switched to the Emeryville store. Long story short my very expensive boots I purchased began to fall apart free a few months. The sole unglued and detached from the shoe . And the seams also came apart after just normal wear . I went to the store to get the boots replaced and the lady was very rude .she did offer to repair my boots in my opinion the were past repair. My son went into the Red Wing Store in Quincy il 62301 to see if he could exchange a pair of boots that he had bought online for a smaller size. I had called the night before and the employee told me they had the style and size that he wanted and didn't think it would be a problem but that my son would have to talk to the owner who would be working the next day. The next day (8/14/2014) he went and spoke the owner and was told that they did not have the size nor style he wanted and that it was against Red Wing policy for any of their product to be sold online. He asked to see the packing slip to see where they had come from and then refused to give it back to my son. He was told that it was needed so that he could exchange them from the online retailer and the owner still refused. He then wrote down the retailer's name and address on a piece of paper and told him that that was good enough, he could just mail them back. My son was so stunned that he didn't know what to do and was afraid of losing his temper so he came home and told me what had transpired. This was at 5:00 PM and I immediately called the store, in fact I called it until 6:00 PM when they were supposed to be closing and no one ever did answer the phone. The next day I told my employer that I had to leave for a little bit and ran over to the store at 9:00AM (when they are supposed to open) and waited 15 minutes. No one ever came. I went back at 3:00 PM and a very nice elderly gentleman was working. I told him that basically what had happened, he looked for the slip, never found it, called the owner, and he got no answer. I then informed him that I had no intention of leaving town (we do not live in Quincy) without that packing slip as we could not exchange them without it, rendering the boots worthless to us. I then went out and called the police. They said that it was a theft but that my son would have to file the report as he was the injured party. I told them that I would bring my son to the station after he got off work. I then returned to the store, told the employee of my actions and was informed that the owner had called back and had told him where to find the slip and it was returned to me. I told him that I would appreciate if he would call back the owner that I could speak to him on the matter and he declined. Needless to say, this was a an ordeal that any of us could do without in our busy lives. What upsets me beside the point that this man took advantage (in my opinion) of my son (who is borderline autistic) is I feel he hide behind this elderly gentleman employee to deal with the problem that he had created. I would love to know what Red Wing Company, Inc. thinks of this! A copy of this letter is being sent to Red Wing as well. read more

I bought the 2406s from this store and after wearing the shoes for a few days it did not fit right. Because they were work boots, it has a 30 day comfort guarantee. I went back on a Saturday to get my feet scanned and the computer said I needed a different size. The manager said the shoes would come in on a Tuesday. I said that was great because I would need the shoes by Thursday. On Tuesday I called up asking if the shoe had arrived and the manager said the UPS messed up. He told me he would drive to a sister store that had my shoe size on his way home to pick it up for me so that I could pick it up on Wednesday. I got my shoes on time! Great customer service!
