The Redeemer church is a great place to worship and meet people. The people here are very friendly and they aren't afraid to come over and introduce themselves to you. Redeemer offers different types of classes to help you become an all around better Christian. The Pastors are all great and put thier hearts into this church. I encourage everyone to go to a mass or two and see for yourself if you like it. read more

Where do I even begin? That's the main question. First off I will say that this is a review from someone who was part of this church for damn-near 10 years, who was a leader and who saw the ins and outs of the workings of this church. First thing I noticed, many of the reviewers on here are people who have grown up in the church or are in with the clique. And I will say that formerly being part of this place, if you act, talk and joke like the popular people, you are automatically on the in. If they like you, you're good. But if you are different than them, don't have the same likes, don't dress like or have the same ideas, you are immediately blacklisted. It doesn't matter if you have 2 or 3 ministries you're helping out or even running in that church, if they don't like you, you're pretty much fkd. I was a leader for 7 outa the 10 years I was there and I wasn't once invited to a single pastors house or get together. Why? Because I wasn't kissing ass or acting like the rest of them. If you're new to the game, and easy to influence, they'll turn you into someone more religious and legalistic than they are. Matthew 23:15, read this verse. This is what they do. They'll brainwash you into thinking things like if you don't raise your hands in worship, if you don't dress the way they do, talk and use Christianese phrases and don't babble in "tongues" that you aren't close to God. I will clear up the rumor of them taking w2's when you become a member. That didn't happen but I will tell you what does happen. When you tithe, (which tithing is what they shove down everyone's throat every week) they expect you to put your name and amount on an envelope. I was called out because they said I hadn't tithed for months, which in actuality my tithe is between God and I, no pastor or anyone else. The pastors push tithes so they can pay for special guest speakers to come and preach. They are very money oriented, and again, success in life seems to come from the almighty dollar. The pastors really like prosperity preachers and televangelists as they often quote them during their services. It was a little disturbing when the head pastor mentioned several times that "God cared about the marble counter tops that he (the pastor) liked, and ended up getting them for a cheaper price." Really? You gonna tell the entire congregation about your marble counter tops when the rest of us commoners have particle board counter tops? Then back in 2012 the pastors went on this epic endeavor to Update their altar to make it more "tv-savvy". There was nothing wrong with their previous altar. Admittedly their video cameras for tv were out of date, they should've raised money for cameras. Now they got a stage fit for Beyoncé to preform on. Look at the churches in Africa and Asia, and they are winning more people to Christ with what little they have. Again, all about the looks and the flare. The single-life there is ridiculous. Women's ideal husband is for the man to be a preacher, on the worship team or be able to play a musical instrument (preferably a guitar). Girls who grow up in the church have the vision of being a stay at home mom while the perfect husband goes off to fulfill the great commission of the gospel. Guys in the church, for the most part from what I've seen are pigs and there's little separating them from the rest of the world. The guys who grew up in church are sheltered and as soon as they get out into the real world, I.e college, they are hit with the hard reality of how people and circumstances really are. To prove that most of these people are fake, is that after I left the church, the ones who I thought I was good with would see me in public and chastise me for my decision to leave. Others would side-eye me or pretend to not know me. Anyone that tells me that they are interested, I surely warn. Their gospel message is great. The pastors and leaders really know the Bible inside and out and how to navigate the words correctly. If you insist on going, be mindful of their snare. I always say that 1 outa 50 people there are actually normal and don't have some ulterior motive. So PLEASE BE WARNED! read more

I have been going to this church before it was called redeemer. The youth ministry for the teens and college students I had big concerns about due to the bullying and mistreatment I had. From being ignored completely and sometimes treated well. Those people who did that needed a lot of growing to do. Every church has people in it who are Not Perfect. We are not perfect as humans. Over the years I grew as a believer and forgave these people and started to see the humbling of the people as they grew in their faith. The message from the leaders are on point and they stick to scripture based doctrine. I like that the pastors correct themselves when they are wrong. I really love this church! As long as you get around the right people you will have a great experience. read more

Clearly this place cares more about the limelight than the actual heart of Christ. Just ask them about the 5 hundred grand stage they raised money for along with the Mercedes Benz van that they use to pick people up in. All they care about is their own type and if one isn't interested in what those so-called leaders or hipsters are into, then you are out of the picture. The people are phony and again only care about their image. There are plenty of places to go that truly seek the heart of Christ, and this isn't one of them. read more

Love Redeemer! If you have kids or teens there is no place like it! Love the community and the messages. It's so valuable to have a place where your kids can learn and you can grow as well. The preaching from Pastor Servello is second to none. Biblically faithful, Christ exulting and Gospel Centered. read more

Redeemer Church was started in 1981 with a handful of people. Today, the church has 5 campuses with 100's of people calling Redeemer their home. We are a gospel-centered, continuationist church. We have charismatic roots that we are blessed by. We affirm wholeheartedly the Apostles Creed & Nicene Creed. We like to say we are Bible Affirming, Trinitarian, Gospel Centered, Spirit filled Church.

The Pastor, Samuel is absolutely amazing. The music is amazing too and the people are so welcoming. There are a lot of young people who go to this church and are very active in the church which I love, and they are always including everyone in volunteering, bible studies, etc. I highly recommend coming here! Sunday service starts at 1030AM at the whitesboro campus and 8am at the new Hartford campus!!

I find it disturbing that yelp filters out all the positive reviews as "not recommended" and leaves the one negative review. We have been coming to this church for one year and find it to be centered on the Bible, people are friendly and humble, and the kids ministry is great. There are three services: Saturday at 6pm, and Sunday at 9am and 11am. As adults with two small children, it was important for us to find a church with a great children's ministry as well- there are classrooms to drop your kids off via a secure check in to where they not only learn about Christ but also play games and do crafts- one note is that the Saturday evening service does not have care for infants, so be aware of that. There is also a nursing mothers room where the service can be viewed on television if you need to nurse an infant. My kids LOVE coming to church (my kids are 8 and 2). I find the sermons to be informative, persuasive, and most importantly BiBLE centered- Pastor Mike preaches verse by verse through the Bible and takes on the tough issues without sugar coating it to what society wants to hear. Sermons are all video recorded and can be viewed on their website if you want to preview before going or watch if you miss a week. There are several outreach ministries for those affected by drugs or alcohol, grief, refugees, women's ministry, men's ministry, and teen outreach. If you have trouble getting to and from service, there is a van that will bring you to and from (a free service of course). Since it is a large church, there are small groups to connect and disciple with others. The music is fantastic, but that is a side note to me when considering a church. Lastly, I find the people here to be friendly and GeNUINE without being overbearing and "in your face". From day one, we have never felt like outsiders- we always felt welcome which is why we decided to stay, and are currently in the process to become members. read more

In today's culture, one would be hard-pressed to find a church that still fully believes in the authority of the Bible, regardless of what mainstream Christian culture is preaching. After being in a variety of churches over the years, I am so glad to have found Redeemer. Some of the most authentic people I have ever met, some of the most sound teaching I have ever heard, and arguably one of the most vibrant and Christ-centered youth ministries around. The multi-generational aspect of Redeemer is one of the most astounding parts of this church, with a myriad of ministries for young children to senior citizens. Highly recommend you stop by one of their weekend services, or the youth service on Wednesday nights. read more

No matter how far away I am from Utica, NY Redeemer church feels like home the moment I walk in. The community of believers is wonderful! It's not church, it's family. They have an amazing youth and children's ministry. The preaching is dense in the word and not a show Ted Talk. They care for the poor, visit you if you're sick. When my grandfather passed away they sent flowers and food. I know the roots of my faith were planted here and throughout my life no matter where I am in my faith I return to the solid doctrine. They have an amazing children's ministry during all Sunday services, with the addition of middle school, high school, college, and young adult ministry's during the week. Such a great church. 100% Gospel-centered in all facets of ministry, be it the Saturday night/Sunday services, the Youth services on Wednesday nights, the Community outreach events (such as the Redeemer Cup), the Encounter Conference, etc. Extremely family friendly as well, as there is a magnificent children's ministry that takes place during service on the Weekends. I've called this church home for 22 years now and would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

Redeemer church is a Gospel-centered, Spirit filled church that has been around for almost 40 years. The church is actively involved in the community. The children ministry is incredible! your kids wont want to leave.
