The church is small, a congregation that is diverse in every dimension, and everyone receives a genuinely warm welcome there. I first visited Rockville Christian Church because although the church I was attending in DC was very nice, I was feeling led to go somewhere closer to home, where I could be part of a church community. One of the pastors at my church in DC recommended Rockville Christian Church, so I went. As soon as I walked into the church, I received a genuinely friendly welcome. I found my seat, and the service began. The music was good at the service. Kay Krekow, a gifted musician, leads the music ministry. The church choir is small, but sings some ambitious selections. I was happy that at Rockville Christian, the congregation sings enthusiastically. (I've sometimes been dismayed to be in churches where you couldn't tell whether the congregation was singing or not, but people really sing here.) The young pastor of the church, Rev. Dr. David Chisham, does a great job of presenting the message. He varies his style of presentation, and this keeps things interesting. Rockville Christian Church is part of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination. The name of the denomination is intentionally simple, as are its Mission, Vision and Confession. It is refreshing to be part of a church that doesn't add any extraneous requirements or conditions to what is specified in the Bible. Finding Rockville Christian Church can be challenging, but it is worth the effort! Once you are on Adclare Road, drive a few blocks through the nice residential neighborhood until the road dead ends at the church.

Had a great Thanksgiving service and meal with the church. This church is like family…read more During the service, Pastor David asked for what we are thankful for. Don't get me started, I'll dilute my coffee! I appreciate that our military, their families, veterans, and our leaders are always lifted in prayer. Suffice it to say, great place for unconditional love and acceptance. Everyone pitching in when someone is in need and celebrating the milestones of our lives. The community service and camp programs for the youth is so important for their development as Christians and global citizens. The kids programs make them feel special and surrounded by caring adults and teens. Thanks to Deidre who leads crafts for the kids twice a month in addition to a separate children's church. It is nice when the kids say, "what's happening at church today".

Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) The cemetery attached to St Mary's Catholic Church is the final resting place of author F. Scott Key Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda. Despite being American royalty in the roaring 20s thanks to F. Scott's novels and Zelda's heady celebrity, later in life things went downhill. F. Scott died of a heart attack in 1940, while Zelda passed away a few years later in a hospital fire. With little money left in the estate and the tarnished reputation of their final years the Fitzgeralds were not immediately given a grand burial. F. Scott was quietly buried here. When Zelda passed, she was interred directly above her late husband's body. It was not until years later that a proper headstone was installed for the couple bearing the final words from The Great Gatsby: "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." The Chinese service is led...... obviously, in Chinese (and are mostly adults), by Pastor Wang who a wonderful speaker--I enjoy his sermons thoroughly. The English ministry is led by Pastor Andrew Williams, who preaches in a friendly Jamaican accent. This church aims to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel and live for the glory of God! Praise Him for all the good things He hath done!

I've been attending REM since around 2000 and my family of four attend the church regularly…read more The church has three worship services for elementary school ages, one English service for youth and adult, and one Chinese service for those who speak Mandarin. In addition, REM has small group fellowships during the weeks for adults in both Chinese and English, a youth fellowship on Friday nights, and AWANA (for elementary school children) on Friday nights. The pastors preach sermons that are based on the Bible and the Sunday school teachers do the same. All of my family members have made friends for life at this church. The church currently has about 275 people in the Chinese service, 125 people in the English service, and 100 children.

Although a 10 minute walk from the Rockville Metro - Red Line, we opted to hail a ride to the special holiday 10am service. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, welcomed & offered seating. Service was about an hour as we got an amazing word from the Assistant Pastor Lora Hargrove, Reverend Leon Grant is the Senior Pastor. Before standing as visitors, my family & I were well received with cheerful 'welcomes' from anyone & everyone who passed us by. My family are in high agreement that we truly enjoyed our day of fellowship at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, especially for the Christmas season. Sunday Service is at 7:45am & 11am with various Youth, Communion, Sunday School, Bible Study & multiple weekdays services to attend. I will most certainly return to worship with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in the very near future.

I knew a few members from varies places which made me feel even more welcomed. I was quite thirsty for a word that I felt was lacking from my church and there was Dr. Hargrove. I felt she was there just for me, as I was growing under her word. She inspired me and I loved her sermons of truth and freedom in Christ. I have been a member since 2019 and I joined the choir first. I needed to be around seasoned saints because I fell alone in the world. I loss my Dad last October and my church family was there for support. I love my Church and looking forward to growing more.
