If I could leave zero stars, I would. First, I work in a service industry where tipping is common, and I always tip fairly. The massage was okay--not the best I've had, but acceptable. However, my experience at checkout was extremely disappointing. As I was leaving, I handed Ana a $13 tip. Her response was, "How much is this?" When I told her, she replied, "Oh no, you need to give me at least $20!" How unprofessional and rude! I was caught off guard and didn't want to argue, so I ended up giving her $20. But being pressured into increasing a tip is completely unacceptable. A tip should be appreciated, not demanded!! In the end, I paid a 33% tip on a $60 massage that was only average at best. I probably won't come back here anymore. I've been to this place at least 4 times or so because honestly, there's not a lot of places you can get an hour massage for $20. I know no one speaks English in this place, but I didn't care about that too much because I just wanted a good massage. The first couple of times i went was pretty decent. I had a male therapist and he was pretty good. However, things got worse the third and fourth time I went. Their service became really horrible and therapist didn't know what they were doing. There is no privacy so it is not uncommon to have 2 different therapist giving massages at the same time and they are talking in their own language. It could get really annoying. It's hard to relax because for all you know they are talking about you. A couple of times they would switch to a different person in the middle of the massage so don't be surprised if your start off bad and you end the second half worse. Also, they would stop in the middle of the massage and answer phone calls. You can also hear them so loud when they are talking in the phone. They should really move all that phone stuff to another room. Normally I would give places 1 star if I'm never going back anymore, but considering it's only $20 for an hour 2 stars is more fitting. read more

Being postcall after four night shifts, I was in desperate need of a massage. Since the original place I wanted to get a massage was not taking walk-ins, I decided to try this place out (I do not live in the area). I was greeted at the door by a lady that did not speak English. I walked over to the poster behind her to show her which massage I wanted. As I sat down, I noticed a humidity mixed with an odor of mold that permeated the space. The greyish carpet was old and kinked. The walls were a cornflower yellow (odd choice for a place where you want people to come and relax) accessorized with golden curtains. I was led into a partitioned room where I laid in a purple velvet chair. While waiting for my masseuse, I heard a customer complaining about how his masseuse had "flu-like symptoms" and "should not be allowed to work" being that she is a "health hazard to the customers". The receptionist defensively stated she did not understand and was not the manager. As he left, she promptly yelled (across the room) to MY masseuse in mandarin that the guy had complained about HER being sick and coughing all over him! (Hmm, I thought she didn't understand English). MY masseuse denied she was sick and continued to rub her moist hands over my face. I figured that I had received the flu shot 2 weeks ago, I would brave my way through this and crossed my fingers that she suffered from allergies. Her technique was nonexistant; poking my muscles, squashing my ribcage, and rubbing my muscles without isolation or follow through. She cleared her throat a couple times and sniffled a couple more. She would walk away frequently and I HOPED she was washing her hands as she returned from clearing her nasal passages. I couldn't help but imagine her tenderizing my rhombiods with her RSV concentrated nasal discharge mixed with oil. Needless to say, I was completely UNsatisfied with my entire experience there. If I could have retracted my PREpaid tip, I would have. I made a beeline to my friend's house where I promptly took a shower. I also loaded up on zinc gluconate and vitamin C that night. She said it's $45 and a $10 tip. What the heck. I've never been asked for a tip upfront. I don't mind tipping $10 that's reasonable, that's what I usually tip and I've tipped more. Then I asked again "$10 tip I don't know if I want to tip that amount if I'm not satisfied with the massage" (I guess I don't like to be told what to tip before services even begin.) and just like that she rolled her eyes and walked away because I didn't want to tip upfront. That is heck a shady! The place was empty they could have used a client at the moment, I just didn't feel welcomed. My mother came home and told me they charged her an extra $45 that she couldn't understand. She just assumes they kept asking for a tip. Been there three times and only the last one did I really have any real problem with. A very pretty lady gave me a 30 min massage that time, named Stephanie. My problem was in that I asked for hard and she never really achieved it. She never turned me over nor hit the feet. She did light work on my calves and hammies but avoided the feet...disappointing to say the least. As far as the back and neck were concerned, she did get my back to crack once in one spot and then it was light for the rest of the time. Which is your precious hard earned $30. The next 30 min after your legs is focused on your back, which they lead you to a different room (private). That I must say, is pretty good. Not good enough to balance the bad however, as I had to identify what/which spot was a bother. Never again!!! Worst massage ever....I originally requested for half an hour for $20 (foot massage) and they offered to do full body for $40. While supposedly massaging my back, the lady removed the sheet covering and she didn't even massage my legs or feet (and it's supposed to be full body).... she just exposed me for no reason at all and only when I said that I'm feeling cold that she put back the drape. I have been to several massage places and I know that they usually use appropriate draping and covering for privacy, etc. After just rubbing my back nothing else but my back for 30 minutes, she stopped and said done. So here are some pointers: 1 hour leg massage gets you just as must rubbing as one hour "combo". No the combo isn't egg roll with a side of cabbage, rather you move to a private room to get walked on. My wife got the leg massage and it turns out she got more rubbing than me. For me no arms, hands, shoulders. For her, pretty much the works. I assume the full hour "2 hands" massage is a private room the whole time. Probably will go back and try that. If you wonder what it feels like to have an Asian walk on your back, ass and legs, check it out. I tipped them $20 for wife and me together and they seemed very happy. This was my first massage experience, hence I am NOT an expert. A friend actually paid for my one hr foot massage, but they went further and did your head, back, and legs as well to get the full effect. There were occasional interruptions from customers coming in and requesting certain services that could only be granted by the person doing my massage, so there were spans of maybe 2 minutes TOPS that I was just sitting there. But the person that took over was more than competent, so I really cannot complain! I paid an extra $10 for the deep tissue which made it $80 for an hour massage and 30 minute foot treatment plus a hot roller. The massage was mainly arms and no elbows or fingers. So as for the deep tissue it was skimpy. He didn't even get the The therapist didn't do the roller and said I was finished and when I brought it up he said no. He asked another person and she said no and it would be an extra $5. But in the package it straight up said it was included. So after they both looked at the menu the said ok. I woke up one morning with terrible pain in my upper back and neck and opted to go to this place simply because they opened at 9am. Walked in without an appointment and was helped right away by nice lady. Even with her limited English and my limited Chinese, I was able to point out where I had pain and what massage I wanted. I opted for the 60-min full body and 30-min foot massage ($60). I had the foot massage first which was just okay. I'm a hard critic when it comes to foot massages though and I actually expect to feel some sort of pain and discomfort, but with this lady I felt nothing. This was more like those pedicure foot massages than an acupressure one. After that she led me to one of the private rooms for the full-body. I'll admit that I was hesitant at this point, so I quickly reminded her about my neck pain and that I wanted deep-tissue. She did not disappoint and this made up for the lackluster foot massage earlier. 90 minutes later I am knot-free and can move my neck again! The reason I am giving 3 stars is because when I was giving her tip she asked for $5 more "because it was a long massage"... I was like WTF? Since the massage was good and inexpensive, I gave her an additional $5 which was basically a 25% tip. Whatever. I don't care that the place smelled funny, or that she was talking on her headset for a few minutes, or that the place was lacking the typical spa ambiance. The point is that she got rid of the pain! Some pointers: 1) They will ask you to pay BEFORE the massage. Do not let them see that you are carrying extra cash because then they will "fish" for more tips after you are done. 2) Be ready to shower immediately after because you will be super greasy all over your head and face. 3) Ladies, if you go with a full face of make-up, keep in mind that your eyebrows will end up on your cheeks. My husband bought me a gift certificate for this place on a recommendation from a friend. I made an appt a week before for my daughter and I to both get massages. When we arrived, my first impression was that the place loos dark, and smells. The lady that met us said "oh there are 2". I told her that "yes, I had made an appt for 2". After waiting for about 15 min they finally brought me into a room. And a few min later brought my daughter back. (she told me later). My lady was alright. She did a decent massage. The phone was transfered to an english speaking individual who I told what I wanted, then I handed my cell phone back to the lady who spoke to and seemed to understand the plan. I was showed to room #1 by another lady who knew enough english to explain pay first, I did. Then she said to disrobe and lay face down under the sheet. The sheet was greasy looking, feeling and all wrinkled up. My face was on a paper towel looking in through the hole on the table at boxes, bags, etc. She came in and put some relaxing music on, began and wasn't too bad (I was desperate) I had indicated I wanted all shoulder and back but she did full body, when going onto legs and butt, way up to close for comfort, glad I kept underwear on. At one point I wasn't sure what I was hearing, a mans voice kept chiming in and by this time, my mind was playing tricks on me. I tried it yesterday. I must say that it's the cleanest massage parlor I've been to besides Sunset massage in Riverside. My masseuse spoke limited English, but I liked that once she entered the room after I was already lying down, she asked me if I wanted hard, medium or soft. I had never been asked that before and the massage had always hurt! I went for the $30/half hour just to try it. I liked it. It was only the back, though. She did a great job by working on muscles and nerves, and towards the end just giving my a very soft touch, which relaxed me. I did see that there was a carton box right under where you place your face (a puke box??) When she told me the massage was over, I asked, "no front?" and she rudely said, "no" and left the room. Things began going bad from there. I dressed and she came back to the room to offer me water and a piece of candy (a mint.) Of course she asked me for a tip (an Asian would) and I told her I didn't have any cash. She said I could pay it with my card, and I said I only had a few bucks to spare (just to see her face,) She said the $30 were for the company, and she only lived off tips (HUGE LIE.) I kept telling her I didn't have more than $5 to spare and she kept telling me about the company... we kept going in circles until I stepped out with her and signed the receipt that I'd give a $5 tip. I have come here several times and the massages have been good. I mostly liked that I could just walk in. However I will never be coming back. I was massaged by a woman there, supposedly the manager, and was unlike I've ever experience. I've been getting massages regularly since I was 18. She put on loud music I believe in Vietnamese & then she started massaging me. She took off the cover leaving me completely exposed except my feet. She wasn't massaging my body in any pattern. She kept caressing both my cheek/legs & my shoulder at the same time & felt like she purposefully was going over my underwear like it was interfering. She asked again to take it off & I told her no. She stopped, laughed about it, place my underwear back from underneath my butt cheek, stood up & positioned herself over my head. She started rubbing up and down from my shoulders down to my butt while her hands went underneath the thong. At one point, she lifted her hand while underneath & snapped my thong. While she was doing this her breasts would hit against my head. Not just slightly touching, but full on. I felt extremely uncomfortable & violated. I asked her to stop & said I wanted to leave. The whole thing felt like it was the beginning a porn video. She asked me if I wanted to change the girl & said okay. When she left the room, she dragged her hand down my back & squeezed my butt. I started putting on my clothes. The new girl asked me to stay & told her I just wanted to leave. They told me they needed to charge me at least for a half hour session, so $40, even though it only lasted about 10 min. I gave them a $100 bill which is all I had on me. The other girl kept asking me why I was leaving while they both were smiling & laughing. They both had horrible English. I just told her I felt uncomfortable but I think she took it as I just didn't like the massage because she just kept smiling. I didn't try to explain any further. I got my change & left. I felt unsafe & didn't want to cause any more problems for myself. So I just left. I decide to come back today with a friend for support to report what happened & hopefully get my money back. To my luck, turns out the lady that massaged me was the manager. I tried explaining that I left because I felt uncomfortable. They just stared at me & then started becoming defensive when I asked for a refund. she kept saying I stayed there for 20 min. The manager offered me $10 back but I told her the point was that the massage was inappropriate not because of the time or just cuz I thought it was a "bad" massage. My friend asked to talk to someone who spoke English. The manager called the owner I believe who spoke english. I explained to him what happened but stated it was my word against hers but because of "customer service," was willing to give me $20 back. I was so offended. I explained to him it the money wasn't the point but that I wanted to report it because it was inappropriate & should have never paid in the first place. He said he was only give me $20. Nothing else. No apology. Nothing. I didn't take the money. I just left. The whole experience was so embarrassing & violating. I hope anybody who thinks about coming here really gives it a second thought. Come at your own risk. read more
