The Spanish and their Jamon. What a beautiful thing. Maybe not as good as the legendary Iberico but the Serrano is still quite tasty. Briny, fatty, and rich. Great accompanied with carb rich snacks or just rolled and eaten alone. read more

This is a big deal when a lot of other restaurants are not open when a tourist like me not used to Spanish eating times want to get a good meal! Besides the convenience, I think the Jamon speaks for itself. They have a giant piece of ham leg right by the window that you see them carving into for every order. It is fresh and almost melts in your mouth. The Jamon (cured ham) is also really delicate in flavor, not too salty at all. Besides this, they also serve a variety of sausages (blood sausage, regular salami, other cured hams, cheese, and tortilla de patata) to name just a few on their extensive tapas menu. The prices were really good - for example, a combo meal of 4 tapas on toast, 2 beers - for $12 euros. Not bad at all. The staff were also really friendly and we got by with our broken Spanish.

Spain being the world's largest olive producing country, I guess I better try and sample a few. The staff here was really friendly. Even offered to give me a few to try. Should I say Gracias? We ended up getting 100 g of Mixed Olive. Another delicacy that Aceitunas Alabau carries is anchovy (Disclaimer: I am not a fan). Sardinas Ahumadas (Smoked Sardines in Olive Oil 3.50 EUR/ 100 g) did look good: oily and fatty. I hope my Yelp friend is happy to have something healthy for midnight snack!

The owners are absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful with menu selection. It's more of a tapas style restaurant so be prepared to pick and dabble from a variety of delicious plates. We had the bravas, artechoks with pate, chorizo and green peppers, and the pork fillet. Everything was perfect, melt-in-your-mouth fresh and wonderfully spiced. Beware the bravas were a bit spicy, not typical in Spain! All for a reasonable price considering the offer. We will definitely be back with a troop of friends!
