We did take out a bit ago because it's super near to us! I got the turkey dinner and I loved it! I do wish there was more gravy on the side as the potatoes did get a little dry towards the end. One of the better breakfast spots on the north shore. Our waitress greeted us with our regular drink order. I opted for the smashed avocado toast with shrimp. It was great as they did not scrimp on the shrimp, and the egg was perfectly runny. You can specify how you want your home fries (I prefer mine well done), which a lot of other restaurants just don't get for some weird reason. I often ask for well done home fries at other breakfast spots and still get soggy ones? It does get busy here on the weekends for brunch, but there is open bar seating which is first come, first serve if you are a small group or dining solo. They also serve lunch and dinner here. Portions are good and everything I've tried is tasty. They also currently have a local dinner weekday special which I believe is 1/2 off your dinner entree depending on your hometown and what day of the week it is. read more

This place has gone so far down hill. Not sure if it's under new management or what but not worth the effort. We were long time patrons for over 7 years. But no more. Dinner menu changed reduced and got very expensive. Can't cook a hamburger they way you order it. Oysters weren't open to order it's like they sat in the fridge opened for hours. Called to make reservations for Easter 2 weeks in advance they said call day of an hour before arriving. We checked that policy again 1 week before, they confirmed we called again the night before just to be absolutely certain as we had a party of 14. Once again confirmed. Called that morning 1 hour 15 minutes they said if we come now we could possibly get right in we arrived 20 minute later to be told a 45 minute wait. They just lost regular customers and an entire family of customers and every one I can tell. Good riddance read more

I really like this place, It's comfort food, fresh fish, great salads. There's a bar and next to it a huge selection of freshly made deserts! The staff is very efficient and kind! Everyday there is a 20% discount for nearby cities. For example: Peabody gets a discount of 20% every Monday! That would pay tip! There is plenty of parking! First visit tonight after watching YouTube videos on places to dine around Boston and Salem. The restaurant has a nice upscale but casual feel to it from the moment we walked through the door. They have a sizeable menu that is just right to choose from. Tonight we ordered Mozzarella Sticjs as an appetizer ($8), Chicken Parmesan over penne pasta ($22), Mediterranean Chicken ($19) & Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo ($18). The Mozzarella Sticks tasted freshly made with a nice crisp crust and wonderful melts mozzarella inside. The Chicken Parmesan was a huge portion with two flattened chicken breasts. The penne pasta was good but I would have enjoyed better if it was fresh made pasta. The marinara sauce was very good. The Mediterranean Chicken had kalamata olives capers spinach, orzo and artichoke hearts and had a light and very nice flavor. The Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo was a huge serving and tasty. The only criticism is that the Alfredo sauce was too thin not allowing a good amount to stick to the chicken, broccoli or noodles. For these items and three unsweet iced teas, the bill was $82.94 which seems to be the new average fir is when we dine out and feels a bit high. Service was by Jessica and she did a great job and was very nice. We do recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying them for breakfast. read more

We decided to give Red's a try as a 50% discount is applied on menu items, not the specials, to area residents on different days. We started with a glass of wine, pointed out on the menu to the waitress which one we wanted, she heard a different name so we corrected her, she said OK, and yet brought a different kind (more expensive). The calamari appetizer was excellent, no problem there. A Caesar salad was ordered and after 15 minutes reminded her we haven't received it. Ten minutes later our entrees were brought to the table, but no salad, which she offered to bring AFTER the entrees were in front of us. No thank you. The steak tips ordered were such a disappointment, in fact, horrible. No restaurant should charge $28 for six steak tips when they aren't "tender" per menu description. The sake noodle bowl was excessively salty so only half was eaten. To summarize, the waitress didn't pay attention to the order: she blamed the kitchen staff for no salad, she served the wrong wine - twice - even after being told it was incorrect and charged extra for the wrong wine, plus the food wasn't good. I don't think even saving 50% on the entrees is worth eating dinner at Red's. Perhaps the breakfasts are better? read more

On any given weekend morning, Red's is slammed. It's a solid breakfast place on the North Shore and we never have a bad experience there. It's a great place if you're in that awkward in-between where some folks want breakfast and others want lunch. We had a group of 4 midday on a Saturday and waited about 15-20 minutes to be seated. Half of us got breakfast and the other half got lunch. All the food was solid. I loved the chicken broccoli and ziti because its as a creamy, heavier sauce. Others loved their food too. We also all split a pancake, which is bigger than your head. I didn't even get a pic because we ate it so fast! The only reason for my four stars instead of five is that our waitress was super nice, but clearly slammed with a lot of tables. It took us awhile to get service and there were large gaps between each stage so we were there for a bit. Definitely worth it though! read more

I sent it back and, finally, at the end when the waitress asked how my breakfast was I said: it really wasn't very good and I didn't care for it but she offered no apology and changed us full price, which I guess is just par for the course at Reds. I've tried dinner here a few times recently and it's just gotten worse each time. Last night we ordered carbonara and pork scallopini. Pork scaloppini is always lemony and capers etc. this was pork with chunky brown gravy and tortellini? Pork was tender but the rest of the dish was awful. Tortellini was no good and the gravy looked like they were hiding something. Carbonara was runny and they should leave out sausage since it takes over the entire dish. This was work of an Alfredo dish with peas and 2 little bits of bacon plus the sausage. Not good. Breakfast here is usually great, they shouldn't breakfast lunch and brunch and not be open for dinner. read more

Im torn on this place... so we have been meaning to go for years and then we actually went one time & they were closed, I feel like they shut down and are now back open, so yeah we went last week. Had an afternoon with mom with no kids so we stopped in for "Brunch", we got some Bloody Mary's and Oysters, Prices on things were great, Portions were huge... Bloody Mary was tasty but could have had more Vodka in it, Just saying. Oysters are oysters, they were shucked ok! LOL Mom got a sandwich, I got an Omelet, and it was DELISH... My only gripe is they were SLOW... We came in and were told 15 mins, and then we sat there for closer to 30, were offered a high top table (Mom is slightly handicapped and needs a cane - no way High Top Table would have worked for her, she just had knee replacement, dangling legs wouldnt have worked) so that I guess meant we had to wait 20 more mins for a real table. Then the service was just slow and crazy. There were about 5 menus which was all over the place, but lots were duplicate items, Only had a handful of Apps, which Im a huge fan of so that was kind of a bummer for me, I would rather have apps than a meal (small plates are my thang!) I will def go back for dinner and see if some of their fish and seafood is worth the trip because the prices and portions were great. Its essentially like a nice diner with a full bar... I love this place. Let me tell you why. Not only is the food consistently delicious, but the people who work there feel like family. I have been going to Red's for years...breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sometimes just drinks at the bar. I am there every week, sometimes 2-3 times a week. Massimo, the owner, and all of the staff are always friendly, accommodating, and always make sure their customers are happy. I have had almost everything on the menu, but my favorites are the Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and Yogurt Parfait for breakfast. Also, I don't know what they do to their scrambled eggs, but they are heavenly. For dinner, I love their Parmesan Crusted Chicken, Baked Haddock, Seafood Paella, and Chicken Parm. When they have it on special, their Beef Carpaccio and Prime Rib are to die for. The drinks, made by the awesome Amanda, Matty, Jen, Julie, and Joelle are always top notch. I highly recommend the Manly Mimosa, Berry Bellini, Rasbperry Cosmo, and Mojito. Make sure to check this place out, but be mindful it is packed on weekends for brunch so be patient if you have to wait...it's worth it! read more
