I was craving for something sweet and, we decided to drop in and get some takeaway cake. It's a nice cafe with a bit of outdoor seating. It's always buzzing on sunny days and lots of people hang around sip coffee or Aperitif and spend the afternoon taking in the sun. It's open all hours and not a bad place for a drink or something to eat. I tried two desserts from here. One was the Salted Caramel and Peanut Tart and the other was a sponge with fruit and cream cheese spread over three layers. I found the salted caramel too salty for me and, I actually love salt :-) the pastry was crumbly and delicious. The sponge was really nice and I enjoyed it. The fruit was quite intense and the cream cheese was a nice addition. All in all an ok experience and I would come back here again. It's close to where we live and I often walk by here anyway. Surprised that I have not been here before :-)

The service is fast and they always ask if you want your sandwich warm/toasted. The staff is also super friendly. I find there the ideal place for a quick lunch/snack. There are sitting places inside, but when the weather is nice you can enjoy your coffee or lunch at the tables outside. The price right for the great quality, size, variety, and freshness of what they offer. For instance, the sandwiches are reasonably big in size and with a lot of filling, and there are several sorts of bread/fillings combinations from which one can choose. It can get a bit crowded at noon, but it is well worth the little wait time. I am a happy customer! :-)

They propose a wide range of salads. I also try their daily offers for different pasta, they were good but not exceptional. The muffins are also good and come with several tastes as well as the ice cream(not home made though) in summer. Now the counter part: I had once a good smoothy but then it has gotten worse, I even had to through away the last one that tasted very bad. In addition the kitchen seems really dirty sometimes. The place tend to be crowded at lunch and the time waiting can get really long. So I recommend only getting a sarni and you are gonna be alright.

Whilst just about everything else in Munich is closed Sundays, this is very open and many winter-fuffled folks were lazing about reading their papers, drinking espresso, warming up from the cold. My Munich guide, Robin W, tells me that this company is actually based in Munich. So while it would seem it is an American outpost, indeed it is not. It is tailored to Germans, but does resemble heavily a Starbucks or something of the like. Fairly corporate in nature. Many tables and chairs as well for working, sitting, or chatting. There was only one girl working, and the line did get long at times. It is not the fastest service because of this, but she did a good job hustling and trying to make everyone happy. Some odd things... *The "happy holidays" mugs still on display at full price. Do they not do clearance in Germany to rid the stores of outdated merchandise? This seemed strange. *I bought a travel mug (I was desperate for a larger mug at my apartment) and it was $11.50 euro. I then wanted the tea in it and she charged me for a large, even though really...it is just hot water and one tea bag, plus I have my own cup. It just seemed strange to me, as it is basically $3euro for a bunch of hot water. A good place to warm up.
