You could not tell that I had gotten my hair done. The experience of getting my hair washed and styled was was lovely but the overall hair wasn't what I had hoped for.

This required me to follow their page before I could message them. Really, really inefficient. In the meantime, I was able to locate another salon and hairdresser via Vagaro and book an appointment. These professionals may be great, but having an easy way to book will get more clients. In this day and age, the instantaneous booking is the bar and this place doesn't meet it. It is a hurdle/challenge to just get an appointment. I am sure these people are nice and are probably good at what they do.

A stylist here previously told me that there is ONLY ONE PERSON at this location who can do a good updo and to make sure to request that person-she said that "they are lying to you" if they say any other stylist can do a good updo here. I only come here because I don't know of another salon that offers convenient blowouts-if anyone has suggestions, please let me know! It feels wrong to be in establishment that only offers styling services and blowouts-get apparently their own stylist don't think they do a good job on updo styles and now they also blindside you with $30 additional fees for them taking longer to do the appointment which you have booked. (They also don't tell you they are taking longer nor do they tell you about this fee prior to your apt) For the record, I do not have very long hair, nor is my hair thick, particularly curly, and nor do I have extensions. The stylists here are very nice, I just always feel underwhelmed & ripped off leaving here. Also the chairs are horribly uncomfortable & the salon itself is begging for a refresh.

I have to give this shop 5 stars even though I don't want to because I know that means more people will come and i'll have to start making my appointments further in advance. But Joe is a great guy who gives awesome cuts for a good fair price. Super easy going guy, conversations are always good and the line up is always fresh. Make sure you ask for a straight razor line up with the hot shaving cream. Seriously a small thing but its a nice touch when the warm shaving cream is applied. Its little things like this that set Joe apart from the rest of the barbers. And if you don't feel like waiting Ash the other main barber there also can through down too so don't be afraid to hop in the chair. oh yeah and don't jump when he blows the air off you.. No wimpy blow dryer here, straight up compressed air lol. Seriously call Joe if you need a good hair cut but don't want to spend $25 bucks. read more

I love going to this barber shop a few times out of the year. I've been going here for many years. The barbers here do a good job at supplying the service. They can cut your hair or shave your face or both. The quality of the hair cuts are great as well. Anytime I want my hair cut a certain way, they do it. I usually always get my hair cut short, and I have the same barber every time, so he knows how I like getting my hair cut. My barber, Ash, is also a really nice guy. The prices are also kinda high, but fair. The vibe of the place is nice. Definitely better vibes than a more generic barber shop. There's also a tv in there as well, so my mom has something to watch when I'm getting my hair cut for however long it takes. read more

I'm coming from out of town and saw the great reviews Joe had for a cut so I took a leap of faith and went in for a cut. I was not disappointed at all! I came in for a fade and shave. Joe took care of me and made sure I was satisfied with my cut from beginning to end! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great professional cut! Ash (Ashor) is as good as it gets. I went to him when he was at his former place and followed him to here. He is incredible. One time he gave me a full haircut and then I decided I wanted it shorter. He gave me another full trim without hesitation and only with desire to make sure I go home happy. What is most important is my hair always looks great after I leave the shop. He is a master at his craft, polite, positive, joyful, and a truly amazing hair artist. I will go to Ashor for a haircut as long as he and I are both in the San Diego area. So I met Joe through Mike who I met over at the old spot 10 years ago. Out of all the other barbers Mike's had, Joe has been the best. Not surprised that he has taken over. He's very professional, pays attention to detail, and always makes you feel comfortable based on your mood. I have been going to Reflections for a few years now and always reserve with Joe. He always does a great job and cuts it so that my cowlicks don't show.....a miracle in itself. I live downtown and travel to La Mesa for the great cut. For a while I was in a wheelchair and still made the journey by bus to get the best haircut around. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
