Downloaded Yelp to leave a review, not the type of guy to ever leave a review let alone a bad one about any business but man. May have gotten the worst trim and "clean up" in my 21 years of living. Barber had no idea what he was doing. Honestly my fault for not stopping it mid way through. Asked for a clean up around the ear and back and just got the exact opposite of that. Happy I found this place because the cuts and vibe are perfect. I was driving to Serra Mesa for a barber I was with for a decade and it was becoming a hassle. But when you have someone who gives you the look you need, you stick with them. Finding Joe was what I needed to finally trust another barber. Even if he's busy and I need to get in and out, the other barbers do a great job of giving me a good cut. I just tried this barber shop after my guy moved out of state. I got the haircut with beard shave. First thing I appreciated was the reasonable price. I get everything is more expensive but when I was looking around, these prices are getting out of control. They use the Booksy app, so setting an appointment was super easy. I showed up for my appointment with Ash. The shop was bight and clean, full of life and conversation. I mention this because I don't really like talking during my haircut. Ash was polite and I was able to describe how I like my hair done and he picked up I am not a big talker and didn't push the conversation. I've tried other shops and I felt forced to talk the whole time. The haircut was quick but not rushed. Just a clean fade and line up, just like I asked. I prefer that my hair be shorter on some areas and longer in others and I was able to tell this to Ash and it came out just the way I like it. The beard went just as smooth. A trim with a hot towel and line up. Less than an hour for both. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking to get a great haircut for a great price. read more

Ofelia is the greatest. I have never had a hairstylist who cut my hair so good. Literally with every hair stylist I've had before there was always a problem. Ofelia is not only sweet and fun to talk to, she knows what she's doing and has mended my hair from previous stylists. If you see a short piece of hair in the front that is because of a previous hairdresser that Ofelia is currently working on fixing over time. Ofelia cares about what you want. What I love about her is that she respects that I want to grow my hair long, so she never cuts it too short when I go in for a trim. Ofelia is amazing at cuts & color! She is very well versed in doing vintage cuts. Like actually vintage cuts that make roller brush outs a DREAM. She knew exactly what I wanted when I explained to the shape I needed after I brush out my rollers (yes old school sponge rollers lol)! Last week I took her to do my mom's hair. Knowing my mom...she is a VERY difficult women to please. But Ofelia is a miracle worker!!! She color corrected my moms roots, added beautiful carmel balayage highlights and fixed her cut! My mom has been cutting her own hair and doesn't do the best job in the world haha. But Ofelia managed to fix it and my mom was VERY happy! She was actually so shocked at how much she loved it. I brought my lil dude here last month and we had a great experience. His hair is really thick and it grows fast. It was starting to annoy him and he wanted a haircut, but the stylist I've been taking him to since he was a toddler was on vacation for a couple weeks. I needed an alternative so I searched yelp and read a lot of reviews. This place seemed to have what I was looking for and it wasn't too far away. Bonus: you can book appointments online directly through the yelp app. Reflections is located on University, at the corner of 70th St in a small strip mall sandwiched with a newer 7-11 and a taco shop. While the strip mall is older, the barber shop is nice and clean inside and there is plenty of seating in the waiting area if you get there early or you don't make an appointment. They also offer traditional salon services for men and women. I spoke with Ash before he got started and he was really friendly. I was impressed with how professional he was and how he was able to get my son talking. He did a fantastic job on his hair, he gave him exactly what he was looking for. They basically do whatever haircut they feel like. Asked for a high fade, side part, leave it long at the top with a hard part. Got a terrible high fade, short at the top, no hard part, and started parting his hair on the wrong side! I had to tell him which side to part it on to follow the flow of his hair! His cowlick is still long and no hard part was given, when I specifically asked for it!! NO GLOVES WERE WORN EITHER! They had to have me knock on the door to be let in to which they locked the door right after me coming in... Even showed a picture for the length at the top, which is in this post!
