A straightforward 1980s music venue with optional fancy dress code, usually attracting free entry. Free tap water to help yourself to, by the bar. Short queues; a quick search and you're in. A few screens displaying the 80s music videos adds a nostalgic touch to the atmosphere. Shiny disco balls, a small but sufficient, colourfully lit dance floor and away you go! Open 8pm till 3am, it doesn't really pick up till 10pm.

Had a good time but was gutted that there was a lot of 90's music played on the night we went.

Currently on bus home

Looking for obscenely decadent late night fun?…read more The Box is over the top London at its finest. It's part night-club, part Burlesque show and part weird sex performance theatre. Go with an open mind, a full wallet, and a willingness to drink heavily and you will have a rocking time. Yes you will see lots of oiled up naked women dancing above bathtubs, pre-op transvestites doing unmentionables with bottles of champagnes, and perhaps a royal or two. The Box is somewhere between ridiculously and absurdly expensive---try £3000 for a table on a weekend night. However, this gets you into a jumping venue with a great dj and of course multiple live "performances." The happening and surprisingly friendly crowd is definitely willing to party and dance the night away. Tip try not to get a front row table for the performances---its akin to the "splash zone" at Seaworld, only here there is a very good chance you will either get covered in baby powder cocaine or soiled with back-washed champagne that came out of a non-mouth orifice---yeah, don't ask!

The environment was also nice, they were busy but service didn't suffer at all. The music was on point to promote the right vibe and everyone was beginning to move. We really lucked out and had a standing table so I think that's what kept us so long and because it was freezing outside. There are tables you can reserve in advance and I highly recommend doing that. Prices are a bit steep, but it's London, what do ya expect? Staff wasn't overly welcoming, but tried to not let them dampen the vibe. Music was good, apps were good. The only way you can get inside is by taking stairs so note that if you have limited mobility. Place is also dim lit if you have low vision. Would probably only go back during happy hour to make the crowded scene worth it. Cocktails are very good. Espresso martini was bangin.

Honestly, pretty disappointing experience…read more First off, you have to pay a cover just to get in, which would be fine if the experience matched--but it didn't. Once inside, it was packed and really hot (especially compared to how cold it was outside), so naturally we had jackets with us. There were stools around the club and we put our jackets on them like many other people were doing. A female security staff member came over multiple times telling us we couldn't put our jackets there, even though others were doing the exact same thing and we were right next to it. The way she handled it came off unnecessarily rude and aggressive, which really killed the vibe for us. On top of that, the bathroom attendant was basically pressuring people to tip just for handing out paper towels, which felt uncomfortable and awkward. Overall, between the inconsistent rules, the attitude from staff, and the pressure for tips, it just wasn't an enjoyable experience. Definitely expected better.

The place is a little small and you don't get much service in there as it's like a small basement downstairs. They have a coat check and also a happy hour if you go early. Do not take cash as the bartenders can be very rude and say they don't accept cash when they really do. We literally had to leave the club and walk across the street to get change for a $50 bill. The bar manager seemed nice and sweet but her other two rude bar back ladies were very unprofessional and seemed to not want to be there. Dj was awesome and music was on point. A mixture of hip hop and reggae-ton. Not sure I would go back just based on the two female bartenders who gave us a hard time.

My trip down memory lane included wanting to see barely coherent, incarnations of Bambi trying to stand on the dance floor as an imitation of dance. In truth I saw neither of these things. The clubbing scene has grown up over the years. This venue is a trussed up warehouse fitted with one bar that services two rooms. The atmosphere will always be intimate as the place is not huge. With a decent outside space fitted with a Corona bar, Corsica Studios is spacious enough to be able to wander the white walkways to escape the phenomenally heavy bass lines to catch your breathe. The sound system is breath taking if you situate yourself in front of a speaker. I spent most of my night there, ensuring cheap thrills from the massive reverbs. I like this venue, not because it is any thing special, but because it is a happy symbol of my underground rave past.
