We had an aperitif and were given the menus to choose our dinner and wine. The place is very pretty and well decorated. I loved the chairs!!! We got the degustation menu for 90 euros and asked the sommelier to recommend us a bottle of wine. The food was exquisite. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented on the dishes. First we got an amuse-bouche that was actually 3. Avocado cream, foie gras like a crème-brulée and a fruits snack in a spoon that I can't really describe, but very tasty. Second, foie gras poêlé. I'm not a fan of foie gras poêlé (I prefer natural) but they add a kind of syrup made of plums and made the dish more harmonical. Very nice! Third, scallop (cooked to perfection) with a cream and cardons. Very tasty!!!! Fourth, fish (omble from Lake Geneva!) and chanterelle mushrooms. Again, perfectly cooked and delicious, both the fish and the mushrooms. Fifth, another fish dish cooked to perfection with leek. Sixth, a palette cleaner made with green apple and lemon and small pop-in-your-mouth-sweets! Taste of childhood lol loved it! Seventh, chicken also perfectly cooked. I confess I was waiting for red meat at this point, but I believe they work with what is best available in markets on the day, so maybe that day it was the chicken. It was a very delicious dish with black truffles and vegetables. After we had cheese and dessert. The cheese cart is amazing with lots of choices. The desserts: panna cotta with raspberry and coconut and dark chocolate cake, macaron and pineapple sorbet. The check added up to 300 euros for 2 people. Totally worth for a meal that impressive. The pizza itself was a disappointment this time around. I'm not sure if the oven has changed but the crust wasn't crunchy as you'd expect on pizza prepared on a wood fire oven. The calabrese was chewy and impossible to cut with the knife. On top of that, the pizza is small and not enough for those with big appetite! I asked for an espresso for dessert and to my surprise it was the one I liked the least so far here in Lausanne. Anyway....I ate the chicken with Roquefort sauce - divine. A hint of cheese flavor and it was perfect. The chicken was perfectly cooked, it came with broccoli, green beans and french fries....frittes as they call them - they are perfect every time, the French do not overly fry them or hit them to the fryer again to heat them up! I passed on dessert, watching the waistline, however, they looked great in that glass case!!! I recommend this place for a nice sit down lunch or dinner if you are in Ferney-Voltaire. The place is really a tea house in the front so you can stop for a drink as well, the back part of the place is the restaurant. FYI
