Commercials for Mountain Dew and eczema cream should not be on a movie screen. It really cheapens the whole experience. We should not be paying to watch generic TV ads after the published start time, during the time that we have already paid for. A half hour of this will contribute to the end of the cinema business. Ridiculous. Whatever.

Located in Battery Park, technically inside the Conrad hotel and where Goldman's offices are and across the street from Brookfield Plaza close to the Arcteryx exit/entrance .. 11 screens, generally all smallish separated by 2 floors (screen 1-5 on the 1st floor, 6-11 on the floor above) although there are a lot of escalators. A/C was not working well when I went. Generally one of the least crowded movie theaters in NYC which makes it a comfortable experience. If you know what you are doing, you can navigate essentially the entire walk indoors from the Fulton St train station

Came to watch Wicked on Thanksgiving. The place wasnt packed but there were a good amount of people. When getting movie snacks the line moved up fast. Didn't have to wait too long. The seats and area was all clean and i had a good time. I have to come back to this location as its a little tucked away and small enough that you don't have to worry about it being overcrowded.

    What's the best row?

Depends on the size of the theater. But I always try for the 5th or 6th row

    How much are tickets?

Regular price is $17+change. They do not have matinee price even if you go early.

Is the popcorn gluten free? And dairy free? Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

No, it’s not that kind of place. Strictly generic multiplex snacks. Also, your bag will definitely be checked; so if you want to bring your own food, hide it well! It’s a perfunctory kind of search; for cameras or something disruptive. Still, it… Read more

What's the deal with the Yelp offer for 50% off any size popcorn? Doesn't anyone know how this works? I tried to redeem at the counter and was unable to.

I believe you have to download the theater app and sign up. Once you sign up you can redeem the offer and start accumulating more points towards future visits.

    How's the parking?

Pretty sure there is garage parking nearby. Street parking is limited. I highly recommend taking the subway.

The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. Overall, this felt like a subpar experience, and I won't be returning. My cousin mentioned the New Jersey location is much better, so maybe it's just this one--but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it.

Ticket prices were very reasonable (we saw Devil wears Prada 2 and it was around $18? For two adults). Where they make the real money is in the concessions! One margarita was around $17. We were able to order food and drinks through the QR code by our seat, but it took a very long time for the food and drinks to arrive. My friend was also accidentally charged for 2 drinks instead of 1, but we were able to talk to the staff and they fixed it for us. (Click on my Substack for more Baumbach thoughts including my brief interaction with the auteur, as awkward as many of his finest scenes). You may have heard about the successful company that helped destroy movie theaters by pivoting to "content" meant to promote purchases of high-end TVs and nice couches. (Related, I went to Best Buy and didn't recognize anything. Is that a thermostat? A stereo? A smart garden hose?) This company was so successful, that after Knives Out was heralded as single-handedly reviving non-Marvel film, its sequel was withheld from the theaters it allegedly saved. (BTW, if you were planning to tell me to watch the amazing 53-part Quibi streaming series about The Golden Age Of Hollywood, don't bother). But after Netflix helped destroy theaters, it did a nice thing. It's one of those ironic moments like the purse-snatcher scene in Jay Kelly. It signed a lease that helped the Paris avoid the fate of the Ziegfeld and a million others, in a world where the AMC theaters that destroyed all the independents have been suffering themselves. So, while it was vile that Netflix thought Roma should be seen on TVs, it was nice of them to show it at the Paris, especially for the unusually vibrant sound. I saw Train Dreams Saturday. I suppose, like the kid in Squid and The Whale, I am a philistine. I wish I could praise its morose existentialism but I'm not quite on board. However, I did appreciate the majesty of the northwestern fires and falling trees in this venue. There was no assigned seating; not sure if this is just temporary, but if they keep that policy I might be obliged to overlook Netflix's evil and upgrade to 5 stars.

(I'm placing descriptors so other customers know which manager, not to call out any of their physical attributes. Only attribute that matters in our experience was her attitude and demeanor towards us) I had a pleasant experience here at this Regal theater with EVERYONE EXCEPT THE POWER HUNGRY MANAGER that came and tried to "assist" us with redeemable passes we got from a different Regal. Passes we were told that could be used at any other Regal. The experience starts off with us stating "we're trying to get redeemable tix for the 10pm Obsession" The manager goes, "10pm for that movie? We don't have a 10pm" SPOILER: They had a 10PM showing of Obsession Instead of actually assisting or helping, she pushed back with every question we had - treating us like we were dumb. Claiming it was already redeemed when we knew it wasn't. Making us feel like we were trying to rob the place. Bro paying for the tickets wasn't a big deal, we just wanted to use the redeemable passes we got. Long story short, nothing was redeemed. Manager was more interested in setting an authoritative position rather than assisting customers. We're in communication of Regal customer service online and hoping it gets resolved. Could this have been a redeemable pass error online or at the previous location where we originally got the passes from? Yeah 100%. We truly don't know why it's not working, but don't make your customers feel like they're a bother to you when they're trying to understand or figure something out. Like wtf? Is it so hard to say, "Sorry don't know why it's not working properly, could be many reasons. Here's what we can do for you" ??? NOTE: we got these redeemable passes at a different location where one of the customers was smoking a cigarette inside our theater as the movie was playing. We left our seats immediately and notified the staff, theater staff gave us these passes for the inconvenience.

There's a few issues here and a few fantastic things and I think the easiest way is to list them by category. The Bad: -Like others, I agree that the seats unfortunately are not that comfortable here. This is by far the biggest issue here and it should have been addressed years ago and I doubt it will be soon -They still show the same extremely annoying metal band shirt advertisement with flashing lights that is annoying every single time I go here -The staff here aren't the nicest but it's a movie theater so I can deal with it The Good: -If you're looking for independent films and foreign films, this is one of if not the best theater to go to -The occasional Q&A I'm able to go to such as most recently for Eephus; which was an excellent existential baseball movie; and the Ukrainian documentary Porcelain War last year are always entertaining and interesting and they don't cost more so I would recommend them -If you're looking to see some form films to fill out your Letterboxd Oscar list or perhaps the shorts or something, they show virtually all of them here -They have some fun midnight screenings and other things such as the obligatory The Room and Rocky Horror Picture Show of course There's a few other theaters that I like going to more but there's occasionally films that you really can't find anywhere else. Combine that with the fact that this place is so convenient that I deal with any of the issues here. If they fix the seats, you can preemptively switch this to five stars but for now, it's a four.
