I had even considered working at the clinic she co-founded with her husband, Dr. John Bourrous. Unfortunately, my experience took a devastating turn in the weeks leading up to my wedding. Melissa had previously done filler in my upper cheeks, which went well. Seeking subtle improvements before my big day, I mentioned some concern about the area under my chin. Melissa recommended a Silhouette thread lift to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of a double chin. She assured me it was quick and easy -- something she routinely performed on herself and Dr. Bourrous. I was hesitant given the timing, but she confidently told me the swelling would resolve in just three days and it would be perfectly safe so close to the wedding. The day of the procedure, I checked in, had some photos taken, took a Xanax I had provided myself, and the treatment began. Only afterward, at checkout, was I presented with a consent form explaining essential aftercare instructions and restrictions I had never been told about in advance -- including a soft food diet, no dental work for 10 weeks, and the need to sleep upright. I had a dentist appointment scheduled just two weeks later, not to mention my wedding and extended honeymoon. Had I known these risks and limitations beforehand, I never would have proceeded. In the days following, I experienced intense pain and distress. The swelling never went down, and the dimpling and puckering in my skin worsened. Rather than slimming my face, the procedure left me looking wider and, honestly, unrecognizable to myself. Despite following all aftercare instructions exactly, I was devastated by the result. Melissa told me to follow up the following Monday, but by then, the emotional and physical damage was already done. The follow-up care for the complications was sloppy, inconsistent, and lacked any real resolution. There was no meaningful follow-through or accountability for what had happened. To make matters worse, the medical record lists Dr. John Bourrous as the provider who performed the procedure -- yet it was Melissa, an LPN, who carried it out. This discrepancy is deeply concerning and raises questions about transparency and proper documentation. It ultimately took a full year of working with an ENT specialist to correct the damage and restore normal tissue function. The impact on my appearance, confidence, and emotional well-being was profound. Warning to others: Do not allow anyone to rush you into a procedure -- especially so close to an important event. This provider completely dismissed this and told me there was no way I was. I felt very invalidated. She drew my blood, and I asked if she can still please run a pregnancy test just in case. She said she would. Come a few days later when I am in emergency room for severe abdominal pain due to an ectopic pregnancy, my ER doctor checked the tests taken by this provider and there was NEVER A PREGNANCY TEST ORDERED. This could have significantly helped determine my condition. In the end, this was an ectopic pregnancy and I had to go in for emergency surgery. She also drew my blood on a dirty pillow with no gloves, was incredible invasive and rude. Also, her response to my google review was incredibly unprofessional and I have plenty of proof of my appointment, which I've attached to this review :)

Marvin didn't care about any of it; this review or my experience. My intention is to give honest feedback about a bad experience because this is clearly a possibility in this office. Dr. Marvin has a great sales pitch but when you have issues it is very frustrating dealing with him. All he said was that I am not wrong for feeling the way I do but he definitely couldn't have done any better and he sees no reason to rectify anything. He wouldn't give me a reason why. He blew me off. I booked an appointment for Botox and I was so excited to begin treatment and to build a treatment plan after reading so many positive reviews. I am a mama to a 3 year old and I was excited to find this office. What woman wouldn't be excited! The communication is awful. Dr. Marvin didn't take adequate time and energy to hear what I was saying and he focused to much on selling me. I was already there and willing to do what it took to reach my goals.I purchased the largest injection package that they offer; $600 because your face is $200 X 3 by their formula. My results never peaked and lasted about a month. His bedside manner ruins the whole experience because he doesn't listen to anything. When I complained and followed up twice, I was told everything from, I could have a contraindication, an intolerance, the batch could have been off, ect...I got a second opinion and looked into all the reasons he said it might not work and none of it was valid. Dr. Kenya was very pleasant and I appreciate that. Due to my work schedule, my husband ran in twice so I could figure out what to do. His presence didn't seem like an issue to Dr. Kenya, other than privacy concerns but then I got a very ugly voice message from Dr. Marvin telling me my husband isn't welcome there and allegedly he made people uncomfortable. The whole thing is unbelievably rude and a lie. That rude message bothered me the most. I've never had someone, let alone a Dr. be that unprofessional. Who acts like that? My husband stood in the waiting room and ended up talking to Dr. Kenya who seemed friendly and she mentioned that they would find a resolution. A lie I guess. He ran in a week later when we weren't contacted to see if there was a good time to schedule an appointment. He left a number and left. I confronted Dr. Marvin about his voicemail, I explained the situation and he said he understood but continued to rudely talk about my husband. That crossed a line. My husband is prior Law Enforcement, he works for the Government and he is a very respectful and composed man. He didn't do anything wrong. No one said ANYTHING about his presence being unwanted until Marvin got in his ego. The crazy thing is left that he left me that nasty vm and then called my husband to talk about the situation but didn't relay any of his ugly message to him directly. I guess he's only comfortable being rude to women. It's unreal. He crossed so many lines but if he doesn't validate it, it doesn't exist. How unprofessional. We spoke on the phone for an hour, he was egotistical, he had no strategy to help fix the situation, he was dismissive but he is sorry I "feel the way I do.' It would be nice to receive a genuine apology for his conduct. He had no answers and he simply told me it's not his fault, i have paid in full so we are essentially done. I am not welcome back and I am an ex client so there's essentially no point in my satisfaction with their office. This is by far the worst and most unprofessional experience I've ever had in any way. They told me I could pay a $25 monthly fee to continue to receive HRT and I still would have to pay for that HRT monthly too. They didn't answer my questions of why Kim left, why Ashley left, and why I wasn't given a heads up and I had been leaving messages for 2 weeks asking for HRT refills. Sad, but Dr. J sold himself to money. It's sickening! Luckily I was able to find Kim Brown who is on her own now. I WAS sending clients over to Dr. J, but now I have send 6 of my own clients to Kim Brown. BIG MISTAKE by Dr. J. Now this place is a circus, RUN!!!!
