I had a scheduled C-section by choice. All the doctors and nurses were some of the kindest and caring people I have ever met. The hospital is beautiful and located in central London. We were given a nice size room with a small second bed for my husband and my own lovely bathroom. I had my daughter sleep in the nursery for all four nights we were there. The staff helped me with nursing, staying away from too much pain and also provided physical therapy. The food was amazing, just like a five star hotel. The hospital owns it's own champagne region in France - you can't make this stuff up! My doctor was Cathy Roberts - if you're having a baby in London, schedule an appointment with her! Thank you Portland Hospital for making the best day of my life truly unforgettable.

We were referred to Great Portland Street hospital by our doctors from Northwick Park due to this…read morehospital being full with covid.. when we arrived at Great Portland Street hospital the receptionist was brilliant direct us to where we need to go not long before our name called out put in our own private room.. soon after my daughter was seen by nurses to talk her her through the procedure she was having the nurse made her at ease soon after our doctors were meat by my daughter from Northwick Park to see familiar place. The whole experience in Portland Street as a whole excellent service and later seen by nurse by Northwick Park who made her feel at ease I would say if you had a chance to go Portland Street recommended by doctors at Northwick Park I would at least you be at ease knowing the same procedure is done or you be waiting a long time

If you want the reassurance of a birth with proffessionals and equipment to hand, within a 'just like home' environement, then this is the place for you. Private rooms have birthing pools/ balls/ armchairs etc to make your birth as relaxed as possible. After the birth, the rooms have double beds for partners to stay and really are like a bedroom at home. The staff are fantastic and will give you as much/ little support as you want. i cannot rate this hospital enough.only wish there was a super positive extra star to give it in the ratings on Qype!
