Went here for lunch after picking up some friends from Brazil. After hyping them up about Regina's and telling them how good it is we got the real "Boston" treatment from an older bald gentleman in the front. Sometimes it can be funny but this was just unwelcoming and rude. This was only my third time going to Regina's but the other spot had slices at the register. I asked him a few questions about the lunch options and you could tell he got frustrated. Not to mention there was a language barrier. It was really embarrassing that friends who I told they would like this establishment got treated like this their first time. After we ordered our slices it started to rain really bad, we asked him if we could eat at one of the ten open tables and he noticeably sighed as if we were asking for something unusual. We then didn't even feel comfortable asking for a drink because of how he would react. Safe to say I won't be taking anymore guests here and the Regina's franchise probably doesn't care anyway. Came here on a Monday night because the Regina's in North End was too long of a line. As a visitor of Boston, I am reviewing the pizza chain without ever trying the original spot. I can realize that my opinion will be bias. This restaurant was spacious and the service was friendly with the server having a Boston accent that we only heard at Italian restaurants. The eggplant rollatini was the highlight for us! In the midwest italian food scene we are use to fried eggplant strips so we went for this to fill the craving but this cheese load ravioli/lasgna type dish hit the spot in a new way. We practically licked the plate clean! The pizza itself was good but because we got loaded toppings, the crust wasn't the crispiest. If the whole pizza was like the crust edges then I would have given a higher rating! Quick and delicious - this pizza is definitely a go-to for anyone in the Boston area. We tried some special ones this time - the chicken parm and the meat lovers, and both were really good! Regina's Pizza in Medford is our top go to spot for pizza in the area. As someone who has grown up eating New York pie their whole life, Regina's pie is pretty good! We typically go on a weekday and whether it's the bar or regular sit down they are always busy. The bar tenders are great as well as the servers, they're all attentive and kind. It's a great spot to catch a beer after work and watch a sports game. We recently stopped by for some pizza after a long day of moving. We got a buffalo chicken pizza, white pizza, and pepperoni with black olives and caramelized onion pizza. All delicious and hit the spot! I've found much more satisfaction ordering pizza for takeout here than dine-in. Mainly because they take damn well forever if you come on a Friday or Saturday and they're jammed...even for an online or phone in order, you may end up sitting there for almost an hour even though when you order they always claim 20 minutes. I also found that phone ordering is the only way to ask that the pizza be cooked "extra crispy"---for some stupid reason the website doesn't offer that option, and I find the "standard" pizza to be a little too bread-like undercooked for my tastes. Long and short of it is, if you come for dine-in, be prepared to be patient. Perhaps it's their way of making you order more booze while waiting for your food---booze sales is how most restaurants actually turn a profit after all, not the actual food. read more

Let me preface with this - I was born in NY. I like good pizza and have not found any reputable pizza joints in MA. This place changed that. For Massachusetts pizza, it's a strong 9/10. Started off with the spinach dip and chips. Very good. I've never had spinach dip before Regina but now if I do, I will hold it to this standard. Followed this up with their Buffalo chicken pizza and the pollo Regina. Fair warning - I like spicy food. This Buffalo chicken was spicy in a good way. If I could only eat Buffalo chicken pizza from Regina for the rest of my life, then that would be OK. The pollo Regina was also very good but the Buffalo chicken pizza took the trophy. The service was great as we were immediately seated and checked up on multiple times. Very nice waitress. The restaurant was very clean and gave off the traditional pizzeria ambiance. Me and my father went today on Mother's Day because it was my late mother's favorite place to eat. We got seated right away. The table was super clean. The booths were super clean and our waitress. Victoria was absolutely amazing. We ordered calamari and garlic breadsticks which we could've done without because they were just OK but we each got an individual pizza and it did not disappoint. The comical thing was my father left his wallet at home. Luckily we only live 5 to 10 minutes away depending on traffic. Victoria was completely understanding and considerate about the situation. I was excited to have lunch here because even though this isn't the original I have heard Regina is an institution. The girl who greeted me was very nice-- and it went downhill from there. I maybe should have known when it took 15 minutes to even see the bartender in a place that wasn't busy. Also-- maybe I should have stuck with pizza which did look good. One of my favorite spots in Boston. They definitely have some amazing specialty pizzas. It's honestly really hard to decide what to order because they are all so amazing and unique. Staff is very friendly. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Bartenders are on spot with recommendations. This place is usually very busy so we plan to take out cuz we live nearby anyway. We ordered Veggie pizza with olives,mushroom, jalapeño, green peppers. It tasted good except the fact that there were meat chunks on it which luckily we identified before biting a slice. I am a vegetarian and I did not really enjoy the sight of meat on my pizza. And this is the second time - accidental meat topping on my veggie pizza. We were weary or going to a satellite restaurant as the reviews can be mixed, however this Regina is as good as the North end mothership. We absolutely loved the service as well as the pizzas. Our favorite is the Classico. We get this all the time and frequently attempt to recreate it at home (which is not possible). We also like the old world although it is a tad salty. If you like old school Italian-American food, this place is for you. If, however, you are looking for authentic Italian food... RUN! This place is the worst representation of what Italian immigrants tried to put together when they came to the US and couldn't find the ingredients they were used to in Italy. The ingredients are shockingly low quality. The prosciutto is inedible, the ricotta is dry and chalky, the sauce is packed with oregano, and the Parmesan (not parmigiano) is the salty, cheap, supermarket Kraft variety. The pizza is undercooked and raw in the middle (and tasteless). Looking for wood fired oven flavor? Forget it. We also ordered something called eggplant rolatini. They clearly made up this monstrosity which is made up of breaded and fried eggplant with a gross mass of ricotta and then smothered is a nasty red sauce. BLAH! No idea why people line up for this slop. It's just revolting and an insult to anything even remotely Italian. read more
