History

Established in 1968.

Reid's Furniture was founded in 1968 by Thomas Reid. In a little store on Simpson Street, Tom started small and after a few relocations, and countless renovations and expansions, Reid's Furniture has grown to be the largest locally-owned furniture store in Northwestern Ontario. In 1995, Thomas retired, turning the business over to his two sons Scott & Shawn Reid. Shortly thereafter, Shawn left to open a beautiful La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery store in Barrie, Ontario, while Scott remained to continue to operate the Thunder Bay business. The family has forged strong relationships with the top manufacturers in the industry such as La-Z-Boy and Ashley, just to name a few. By focusing their efforts with a few key suppliers, Reid's can offer their clients quick delivery of quality brand named furniture that is sure to be comfortable, stylish, and durable. Reid's is a second generation business that is currently owned and managed by Scott. "Born" into the industry, Scott has spent a lifetime learning the business, attending countless training classes and International Furniture shows. With this knowledge, he has assembled a solid team dedicated to help you find the right furniture so suit your home and meet all of your lifestyle needs.
