Once here I was terrified to try and find a good physician because I had heard such horror stories. Well someone highly recommended Ms. Peterson and I could not be happier. My first visit she not only had my charts from the bay area but she spent a very long time going over my medical history. Then I had something happen and so she immediately (that day) ran a CT Scan, full blood panel and called me that night with the results. Now that's a good doctor!!

Dr. Austin was the physician for my parents in Sonora for over 25 years. My dad passed in 2008…read moreafter complications from lymphoma for which there were no oncologists in Sonora. My mom passed away on Feb 13th after complications from a stroke. The day of her stroke she was in the office to see Dr. Austin not feeling well and now we know was in the midst of stroke symptoms that were not recognized by her Dr. Of 25 years. The receptionist in the office even had to summon a neighbor to drive my mom home because she was so weak and confused. She was admitted to the hospital the following day by her out of town family but the damage was done. Subsequently my mom spent 10 days in the hospital, in the same building as the Drs' offices and not once did Dr. Austin come to visit, to talk to the family, to hold her hand just for a moment or even call to check on her or acknowledge her passing to her family. She considered him more than a Dr. Because of the length of their relationship, she relied on him and trusted him, he sent her home with no follow up care, she could not drive home but he or his staff certainly should have called that night to see if she were okay.
