We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Cañete was booked out for 2 weeks straight, so we decided to risk it and see if we could get a spot as walk-ins; and were lucky enough to want less than 5 minutes before being sat at the "bar" in front of the open kitchen, which is honestly the best seat in the house IMHO. You get to see all the 'action' and interact with the friendly and often funny staff. Everything in the menu we tried was fantastic, but a few standouts for me were the squid sandwich (do yourself a favor and try it, even if you aren't a "squid person" the bread is fresh, and the butter garlic sauce they use should be sold in bottles at the supermarket), the lobster croquet was refreshing, and the aged beef steak with foie and truffle sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Since it was Spain's huge sale season right now (Dates after January 6 to the end of the winter season) I was able to find some goods at pretty nice deals -- half the store goods were discounted! While I was able to catch some good finds, I found some other prices to be the multiple of what they'd be in the states. For example, I could get hand warmers in the states for about 40 cents each whereas here they were 5 euros, or about $5.50 in dollars. Also, I didn't find the sports clothes to be the trendiest, but perhaps that was because all major stores in Spain are left only with the remnants of their winter collection around this time frame.

This store is very strange, of course, it is being a Real Madrid store in Barcelona, when it comes…read moreto football, Barcelona and Real Madrid are arch rivals, perhaps to a greater extent than Barcelona and Espanyol, and Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, the cities are so far apart, the length of a flight time from here to Madrid could be longer than Manchester to Paris, just under 400 miles separate this city, making Manchester to Calais closer, which is going from the north of England to France, which shows the immense difference. The fact of the matter is, this shop only appears to tourists and in a way Real Madrid are aiming towards their worldwide, rather than loyal and perhaps more "true" fan-base with this location, so that is certainly interesting. The store mainly sells Real Madrid merchandise, such as shirts and even some from the Spanish national football team as well, there also are seats similar to what the players and manager would sit on at the Bernabeau in the middle of the store, which is quite a cool way to have seats in your store, but not original as most clubs tend to do it, such as my favourite club, Manchester City. Overall, this store seems okay in the unlikely event that someone in Barcelona would want Real Madrid merchandise, but still it is a smart move by appealing to tourists more than supporters yet stil as a football fan it's hard for me to understand the location, but the store in general is okay, perhaps with a small selection and slightly below average in general, hence earning a two star rating.

There are always employees ready to help you find whatever you need. You can find anything for anyone in this store. It does get crowded so you have to be careful not to bump into people. When I was there the line to get checked out was long. They have one in each level to make it quicker, and the employees ringing you up are efficient to reduce the time you spend waiting.
