I'm beyond frustrated with this office. I ran out of birth control a week ago and have been trying to get a temporary refill to tide me over to my next annual appointment. I left a request in the patient portal as instructed asking for the refill. On the third business day of not hearing back, I call the office and make the request; they say no problem. I go to cvs later that day to pick up the prescription and they let me know they've been contacting my doctor on my behalf and haven't been able to get the prescription authorized. I call the next day and the office says they'll do it but don't. I call the following day and learn they haven't done it because my doctor is out on vacation but they say if I want, they can get the managing doctor to sign; I of course say yes. It's now Friday and I called once this morning and once at 3:00 to no avail. The office is now closed through the weekend and it's been over a week since I've had the medication. I'm so fed up with calling five times and getting completely ignored. read more

The worst interactions I have ever had with a doctor in DC and admin staff have been at RHJ. I was seen by Dr Ketema, who ignored my symptoms and denied me the care I needed. I had to follow up with another provider to actually confirm my symptoms and get proper care. Patient care is the last thing this practice cares about. Whenever you call the office, it's a 20 minute wait before you actually get connected to someone. There are plenty of better doctors in DC. Seems like if you are not pregnant then you are not a priority here. I get more and more disappointed with this office as time goes by. They had to push my follow up appointment out another week due to one of the doctors having a family emergency. I was eager to attend this appointment to confirm everything was okay after a recent procedure. They initially tried to reschedule me for 2 weeks out until I pointed out how absurd that was. It makes me feel like my health is not important and that I am just a number to be moved around. read more

Updating my review now that I've gone through a successful pregnancy and birth with Reiter, Hill & Johnson. I still can't give them five stars because of the trauma Dr. Ketama caused during my ectopic, but everything else has been spectacular. First an update on the situation with Dr. Ketema mentioned above. After leaving my review I was contacted by Reiter, Hill & Johnson to talk about what happened. I shared my story and told them that because she was the only doctor I'd ever had trouble with there that I wanted to keep going to that practice but that I never wanted to see that doctor again. I was assured I'd never be scheduled with Dr. Ketema again and that if she happened to be on call when I went into labor another doctor would be called in. My care throughout my pregnancy was phenomenal. Because of my prior ectopic they were proactive in monitoring my pregnancy early to make sure it wasn't a repeat. I can't think of an appointment I left feeling anything but reassured that my baby and I were in good hands. Unfortunately, my last ultrasound (at 36 weeks) revealed that my daughter was breach and my fluids were low. My husband and I talked about our options with Dr. Thrush, who handled the situation very professionally, and agreed that it was in both my and our baby's best interests to have a c-section that day. It was obviously not the birth that we had planned, and it was a very scary situation for us, but we left feeling safe and confident that we were making the right decision for our family. Upon arriving at the hospital I was pleased to be meet by Dr. Abraham. Our only hiccup was that the doctors were about to switch shifts and Dr. Ketema was on the schedule. Dr. Abraham immediately noticed that I tensed up at Dr. Ketema's name and after I explained that I had a traumatic experience with her, Dr. Abraham offered to stay late and deliver my baby. I am eternally grateful for her. She did a wonderful job and I have a beautiful daughter (and a scar that healed really, really well). Thank god I didn't allow myself to be bullied into an unnecessary surgery to remove my fallopian tube or I probably wouldn't have the amazing little girl I do. read more

I love my Dr. Tsion Ketema. I was a patient of Dr. Charles Hill for at least 25 year. May he RIP. He delivered my daughter who will be 31 this year. Dr. Ketema was highly recommended. I am so please and satisfied with her. I look forward to my yearly appointments with her. She is thorough and detailed. She makes extra time for you. Has allot of patience because I am a talker. Always on time which is very important to me. I love her personality. I trust her expertise and experience. Highly recommended! read more

This ultrasound print out is emblematic of many of my visits to Reiter Hill: rushed and lacking in quality. Imagine being a first-time-mom and having moderate upper abdominal pain for weeks, unable to get ahold of anyone via phone, waiting for your appointment, only to have the doctor give you a one-word answer to your issue as she's already stepping out the door -- and that sums up my experience at this practice. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars are for the good experiences with Dr. Kerr and Dr. Dedania. I found both of them to be attentive, patient, confidence, and personable. But it was my visit with Dr. Ketema that made me decide to change practices entirely. Around week 20, I started experiencing painful episodes of what felt like a belt being tightened from my sternum, around the right side of my ribs, and into my back. The pain flared up every day around mid-afternoon, and it was enough to disrupt daily tasks. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get through on the phone if you ever try to call RH with a question, but I thought if I just hung on until my next appointment, I'd get some answers and suggestions for what to do about it. I envisioned discussing the problem with the doctor, maybe getting the area checked out, or referred for some more work. You know -- basic medical care. When Dr. Ketema said, "do you have any questions?" I started describing the problem -- and she started packing up her binder to leave. As she walked out of the room she told me it was just heartburn. After WEEKS of feeling miserable, the doctor couldn't even give me 60 seconds of her time. I felt so inconsequential, like the fact that I'd been in pain, every single day, for weeks, didn't matter at all. I wanted to say that I didn't think it was heartburn; I have heartburn frequently, and I know what that feels like. But apparently the appointment was already over. To top it off, that appointment was scheduled for 23 weeks and 5 days. The nurse at the check-in gave me the 100g sugar glucose drink. Only after I drank it, and waited an hour for the blood draw, was I informed that you need to wait until 24 weeks to take the test. They couldn't administer it two days early, despite the fact I'd already taken the drink. So I left that appointment with no answer to my ongoing rib pain, feeling nauseous and dizzy from the glucose drink, for a test that they couldn't even run that day. I stuck with them for a few more weeks as my husband and I debated what to do. We heard countless stories from our friends about their good experiences with George Washington OBs and midwives, and decided to change practices. I had my 28 week appointment with RH while we were in the process of changing providers, and this was the ultrasound print out we got. The tech ripped it off the printer like it was a grocery receipt, and not a picture of our baby. Keep in mind you pay $18 per visit in parking fees for such "quality care" from your medical team. I felt like I barely knew any of the doctors, even the ones I'd had good appointments with, and they didn't know me either. What on earth would delivery be like? I was just a number to Reiter Hill, not a person. And what if Dr. Ketema was the one on call the night I went into labor? I had my first appointment with GW yesterday and contrast between the practices could not have been starker. My doctor spent over half an hour with me, answering questions, going through my history, and just getting to know me as a patient. He personally helped set up my next appointments and said he had some extra time before his next patient; would I like to get an ultrasound? And I got to take home a high-quality print out of my baby. I would caution any first-time mom away from Reiter Hill. Pregnancy is hard enough when you don't know what to expect, and RH left me feeling like I was navigating the entire process alone. My happiest moment with RH was when I heard that, after a week and a half and multiple phone calls and emails, they had finally faxed my records over to GW. read more

My long term OBGYN here was amazing but after about 8 years as a patient, she retired. I scheduled with Dr. Ketema, excited to see a younger woman Dr. The first visit was fine, but I asked her what to do with my IUD expiring soon and knowing I wanted to TTC pretty soon (and I'm over 30). She gave me advice and I thought about it. I made a follow-up appt for IUD removal, based on my decision to go off of BC a few months before TTC to see how my cycle is. Well, Dr. Ketema walked in the room and was immediately dismissive. Questioning my decision, being snarky, and making it clear she disagreed with me and thought I was an idiot. At one point she even seemed to laugh or mock me for wanting to go off BC. I am a grown ass woman who wants to have kids. I left the office and had a cry, and I'm never going back. Reiter Hill certainly has better doctors - but I found a different practice that's smaller and more holistic and also part of Advantia Health. Do your research because you deserve to feel respected when it comes to your body and your choices, read more

Avoid at all costs unless you are in the mood to litigate. 1. I was inappropriately touched post delivery of my first child, but believed I was in the hands of professionals so never said anything for nearly 3 years -- upon looking into things serioulsy I now understand I was a victim. Management has not done anything to address this, and instead, I have, on record, comments they have made that are unsettling. 2. I was misdiagnosed with GDM for 2 months - tracking numbers 4 times a day, wearing a continuous glucose monitor, seen by a specialist who was shocked at the error. Confirmed misdiagnosis by another doctor. RHJ defends the misdiagnosis and says they are "conservative" - though no where in my chart does it indicate they are taking this approach, but rather labels me as having GDM. Thank goodness I have many lawyers in the family. read more

5 Stars to Tiffany Leray, WHNP-BC 1 Star for everything else I'll explain. I'm a woman of color who has had multiple bad experiences with OBGYNs over the years. I've never gone back to the same one twice. Couple that with the fear of medical biases and it's been an awful time finding someone I could trust. I was pretty new to the area having moved from the west coast, and saw multiple black women recommend Dr. Jo'Ann Jackson on Tik Tok, and decided to try out her services. Unfortunately, the closest office would be all the way in Washington DC. However, I would deal with that commute if the service was that satisfactory. Unfortunately, for me she was booked three months out so I decided to wait. Come the day of the appt I check to see that it's a little over an hour commute. Surprising as it would have been about 40 minutes. I jumped in my car and rushed over. I even called the office to give them a heads up and they told me about the 15 min grace period. I rarely travel to DC so I only had one shot to get lost finding the building and finding parking. It was tough since the building is pretty obscure. I get there with about 5 minutes to go before I hit the 15 minute grace period and the only access to the office is by elevator. An elevator that was under construction thus suffered from a delay in arrival. I tried to call the office to let them know that I was still waiting for the elevator to arrive in the lobby, but the reception in the building is terrible. Luckily, I land in their office's lobby right at the 15 minute mark and there's no one at the desk. I wait a minute or two, before calling out to anyone who would hear me and still nothing. I even called the office so someone could be drawn to the desk. Another minute or two comes by before someone greets me. I check in, and all seems to be well until they call me back up and says that I'm late for my appt and Dr. Jackson won't see me. I'm on the verge of tears at this point. I practically beg them to ask the doctor to see me, and that I was even willing to cut my appt time down as the penalty, but the person at the desk just kept shaking her head saying I'm sorry she won't see you. I told her how I waited three months for this appt and traveled for over an hour, and she can't even get up or pick up a phone to ask?? That's real crappy especially (which I didn't know at the time) since I would have to have paid full price to park in their overpriced garage. To this person's credit she found a solution for me and said that there was one person available that was taking new patients and I could be seen right away. In tears and not wanting to have wasted my time I agreed even though I knew Dr. Jackson was the only black female OBGYN at the practice. After all of that I do consider myself lucky to be Tiffany Leray's patient. She treated me with kindness, listened to all of my concerns regarding my painful periods and disinterest in starting birth control. She laid out all of my options, and ultimately scheduled me for an ultrasound to explore endometriosis. She was also really skilled at doing the pap smear which tends to be VERY painful for me. Between this appt and the next one I had a medical emergency during my menstrual period which landed me in the ER in Colorado and I was given ultrasounds there which confirmed the presence of a cyst or endometrioma which was once again confirmed by the ultrasound tech at Reiter, Hill, and Johnson. Tiffany once again recommended that I try going on birth control because my system needed a break from bleeding, and while she would be down to prescribe me the brand that I vetted I still didn't end up doing it. Then what I really appreciated the most was that she recommended that I speak to a couple of Endometriosis specialists / surgeons because that wasn't her area of expertise even though she 99% suspected that I had it. I've since read stories about careless OBGYNs and the like who pretend to know what they're doing or downplay the pain of their patients. I've since had a successful laproscopy and excision of stage 4 endo lesions. Thank you Tiffany for providing me with great care and guidance. I know I'm one of the lucky ones in that aspect. The number of low rated reviews at all of the RHJ locations and my own initial welcome deters me from returning, although if worse comes to worse I will go back to Tiffany at the Chevy Chase location. I certainly will not be returning to the DC location because it is egregious for patients to have to pay $18/$19 to park. For my second appt I left with plenty of time to spare and ended up parking in a neighborhood at a meter and walked about a mile to the office. read more

Something awful has happened to this practice over the past few years. I go to the Chevy Chase location, which moved to a new location directly on Wisconsin Ave where parking is near impossible. So first, know that you'll likely need to walk ~ 10 minutes or more to get to this office, unless you want to pay $10/hr to park in a lot directly underneath (it was full when we went anyways). Next, from beginning to end, my appointment here took TWO AND A HALF HOURS. I can't imagine how or why. We got a $60 parking ticket. Next, the place just does not respond to patient inquiries. I sent a message on the portal on Jan 25 .. it's Feb 6 now, still no response (their website says to expect a response within 3 business days). I've followed up twice. Due to these things and a number of other factors (like how hard it was to make an appointment, how I received bloodwork results with NO explanation on what they meant, how rude the front desk was when calling), I decided to switch practices. To no one's surprise, the records transfer form on their website has no instructions on how to submit it once complete. So, I called the records office three times. Left voicemails twice. No response. Sent three messages on the portal. No response. Emailed them three times, with the request, and just asking if it had been received. No response.  I really don't understand what's happening here. I can't think of any other interaction in which patient communication, questions, or concerns are just flat out ignored. I would sooooo soooo strongly recommend never entangling yourself with this practice to begin with. Every time I call another practice telling them I'm looking -- or a doula -- they all laugh or say they aren't surprised when I tell them I'm trying to leave RHJN (seriously). Please look elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately I wasn't able to be seen by this practice because they cancelled my appointment by calling me on a Friday evening and letting me know that my records had not arrived. My appointment was for a Monday. I confirmed with my other doctor's office that they had sent the records earlier in the day, but even if they didn't, what kind of a doctor won't see a patient for a regular visit without having their records 24 hours ahead of time? That is absurd. Also, it is very presumptuous that every patient is going to have records that they are able to send. This was for an initial regular appointment, not a surgery, not something that would require specific documentation. I will not be going here and it is very disheartening because it is difficult to find an OB in this area that takes my insurance and is accepting new patients. Don't bother unless you want your appointment cancelled due to paperwork. read more

I was a patient for 17 years. I called for an appointment as I was bleeding heavily for a very long period and with other symptoms. The receptionist explained that since I hadn't been in a while, I was considered a new patient and that they could see me in a month. I subsequently had to go to urgent care where the doctor gave me hormones for a brief period to bridge me to an appointment. My bleeding resumed as soon as I was done with the prescription at which point, I called back to Reiter Hill explaining the situation (again) and asking if I could come in sooner. The answer was that "unfortunately, their office policy was...." but that I could "call around" and see if I'd find another provider. The staff fronting this machine/factory style of practice was always flat to cold, reading from a script in monotone tone taking your call. I have always been a low-key, low maintenance patient, and then, after 17 years, when I really needed them, they, of course, were nowhere to be found. If you have no demands, no expectations, and plan on being healthy for the rest of your life, by all means, avail yourself to this mega practice with three office locations (their only redeeming quality). If, however, you are well heeled and have options, ditch this low-grade practice. read more

Jennifer Lanoff, a rockstar Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at RH&J, continues to provide noteworthy gynecological care, providing me with expert advice, tools, and amazing referrals at every visit (she just fit me in this week despite her very full schedule and I am quite grateful). Her expertise and experience treating menopause have gained her a bit of a following with middle-aged/older women, so her schedule is likely filling up, but I (and half a dozen of my closest friends who see her) can't recommend her enough. We all feel lucky to have found her. She TAKES HER TIME for one thing -- you never feel rushed. She's passionate, thoughtful, sensitive, CREATIVE, knowledgable, and MAKES HERSELF AVAILABLE for whatever is needed. A+ read more

Currently being treated for PTSD partly due to an experience that I had with Dr. Ketema. When I was 36 weeks pregnant she held me down and gave me a rough and painful cervical check without asking for consent, then immediately proceeded to sit in her chair and tell me that my last ultrasound showed that my baby had a blockage in her bowel and I was now high risk. I went to the high risk OB at two separate hospitals after that and it turned out to be false. Turns out she did not review the ultrasound herself and told me this information based on what the tech wrote. I switched to GW and delivered my baby there. I went back to RHJ for routine care at 6 months postpartum and told them I did not feel well post recovery, and the male doctor did nothing but offer me Prozac when I was asking for a comprehensive health check. I'm so happy that gaslighting and obstetric violence is beginning to be talked about in this country. This practice would be a perfect case study. read more

If I could give this office 10 stars, I would! This was probably the best doctors office experience I have ever had! I have been having abdominal pain for over a month and after changing my PCP, visiting the emergency room, getting a CT scan and lab work, I finally found Reiter, Hill, & Johnson through my insurance. From start to finish, this visit was exceptional. The receptionists were kind and welcoming, the wait time was very short, and the technicians and doctor were wonderful. They made me feel heard, they took their time, and were both attentive and thorough. They were able to get me a sonogram and ultrasound done in the same afternoon so I won't have to miss work for follow-up appointments. They explained everything carefully and answered all of my questions patiently. Before I arrived home, I had already received my visit summary via email. They are accepting new patients and can usually see you on the same day if needed! I cannot recommend enough. I have been a patient of RHJN for many years and generally have had great experiences with all the medical practitioners including doctors, nurses, and ultrasound technicians. Dr. Katz delivered my baby via c-section just over a year ago. He has an exceptional bedside manner, truly cares about his patients, and takes time to answer all my questions. I was terrified for my unplanned c-section but he went to great lengths to explain the process and ensure that me and my baby were healthy. One year later and I can barely notice my scar. I am so happy the practice moved to a brand new office in downtown DC. This is a large practice with at times operational headaches (although I think they have made improvements) but I believe the level of care is quite good. read more

I've been holding off on writing this review for 8 months now. Overall my experience was thoughtful and wonderful with Reiter, Hill. However, what was very disappointing was how I was treated by Dr. Ketema who is a provider at the practice. I would avoid her at all costs if you are thinking of going to this practice. She is rude, lacks any bedside manner and is very aggressive in her assumptions. I'll share my story because I believe women should lift each other up, especially in pregnancy. Throughout my pregnancy I saw Dr. Katz (no longer with the practice but AMAZING doctor). I was not an overly nervous first time pregnant mom, but I did have a couple times where I was anxious. I also have anxiety, so that was noted on my paperwork. I hadn't felt the baby move in 12 hours or so and made an emergency appt to see a provider, I unfortunately was scheduled with Dr. Ketema. As soon as she came into the room (I did not have any pants on, ready for an exam), she started making assumptions about me. Assuming I was anxious because of my anxiety, assuming I would have post-partum depression, assuming I would need therapy. She was saying all of these things while I was sitting all but naked on a bed in front of her. She didn't ask about why I was there or anything. She FINALLY checked the baby with the heartbeat monitor, said she was fine and sent me on my way. It was horrific. The entire experience, to this day still makes me shudder. She marked my chart that I was suffering from a "mental disorder complicating my pregnancy". Meanwhile, my actual provider told me anytime I wanted to come in and hear the heartbeat I could! I was absolutely disgusted with this treatment by Dr. Ketema. At this point, I felt like I couldn't trust my doctors with how I was feeling because of her treatment towards me. And I had a completely normal pregnancy. I can't imagine her working with a woman who has a difficult pregnancy, I really can't. You'll notice, even with this very terrible experience- I give Reiter Hill and Johnson 4 stars because the other providers make up for Dr. Ketema 10 fold. Dr. Johnson, Dr. Stein-Muangman, Dr. Thrush (and of course Dr. Katz) are all absolutely amazing supportive doctors and I would suggest seeing any one of them. The front office staff was also absolutely wonderful to me every time I called or came into the office. And of course, the ultrasound techs. All around wonderful experience. It took me some time to get over what happened with Dr. Ketema, but I'm glad I continued with the practice- just avoided her. read more

I have been going to this practice for 5 years now and thought they would be a good fit for my first pregnancy. I went in yesterday having had two positive at home pregnancy tests. The doctor suggested blood work to see how far along I was. Today I received a voicemail (yes a voicemail) saying the test was negative and that I should see an infertility specialist. I tried to call back but the office closed for lunch. I called again 2 hours later since no one had called me back. when I asked to speak with someone they said "did you listen to the voicemail?" I said yes and that's why I needed to speak with someone. The doctors assistant told me they didn't know why I would need an infertility specialist but that it's probably because I have hormone issues but she didn't know and the doctor wasn't there to answer questions. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

I've been coming to this practice for more than ten years--through three IUDs and the births of two babies in between--and I only have positive feedback. I have found the doctors to be professional and have good bedside manner. Appointments generally do run on time, yet I've never felt rushed. If I have been surprised by a bill it was because it was less than I was expecting. And while I wasn't really bothered by the old DC office, the new, modern space really matches the standard of care. I also loved my birth experiences at Sibley Memorial Hospital, where the doctors perform all deliveries. I was able to labor without any pressure or even suggestion of interventions. My care team couldn't have been more supportive both when I wanted to wait on pain relief, and when I decided it was time for the epidural. Dr. Peterson and his team very likely saved my life when I hemorrhaged after delivering my (very large) second child. And my babies received wonderful care there as well. read more

Be careful not to talk to the doctor, they will charge you $385 for a 5 minute conversation! I went here for my annual exam (which is supposed to be covered at 100%) and had 5 minute conversation with the doctor (Sheetal Dedania) about birth control and was charged '$385 for an 'office visit' since I 'talked' to the doctor!! Fortunately my insurance agency covered most of it, but WTF!! What kind of medical service charges you for TALKING to the doctor!! read more

I just delivered my son this April and can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Peterson and the RHJN practice. I have been to both the downtown and Chevy Chase locations where my wait time was never longer than 10 minutes and everyone I interacted with, front desk, PA's, and doctors were all very pleasant and respectful. This was my first pregnancy so I wanted to make sure I had the right Doctor for my needs. Dr. Peterson was referred to me and he was absolutely wonderful to work with. He made me feel calm and confident that I was doing everything I could to have a healthy pregnancy. It's hard to find a Dr. you actually want to be friends with. Dr. Peterson is one of the coolest doctors I have ever met. He is easy to talk to and never made me feel like my concerns were trivial. I really trusted him and it made my pregnancy enjoyable. When it came time to deliver my baby, Dr. Peterson did everything he could to help me deliver my baby naturally but in the end I needed a Cesarian to deliver my almost 9lbs baby! My C-Section scar is beautiful thanks to Dr. Peterson. Overall I would recommend the practice to any expecting mother and I'll be returning for my second pregnancy. Thank you RHJN! read more

I went to this office in mid-December for a routine check-up. On January 18, more than a month later, I received a voicemail from my doctor that there was something abnormal - this, despite the online patient portal showing normal test results. How this phone call was not made sooner to me, I don't know. I returned the phone call to the doctor, who wasn't available. I was assured he would call me back. On Monday, I phoned again, the office was closed. On Tuesday, I phone again, the doctor was out of the office but "would return my call." On Wednesday, I called again. He was busy but "would return my call." Today, it is Thursday, 6 days after I received a message that I need to get a colposcopy, and the doctor was once again, busy. It was 20 minutes until the office would close, and I had yet to receive the "call back" I was promised and owed. I am not including the doctor's name in this review but I am happy to share it with anyone who is interested. I no longer live in DC and moved for work shortly after visiting this practice. I mentioned this every time I called - this is largely the reason I wanted to speak to the doctor, so I could better understand what I'm dealing with. I give up. I just scheduled an appointment at a practice in my new city. At least I can get my records released online and I will never have to call Reiter Hill again. read more

All the staff I've encountered here, and the two gynecologists, have been excellent, knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. I specifically saw Dr. Sedghi and she was always open to questions, had a good sense of humor, and recommended me to a different practice when I was interested in giving birth at hospital they didn't deliver at (she didn't try to pressure me to stay or change my decision, or even make me feel uncomfortable about it). Also, the receptionists are extremely good at acting like whatever weird reason you want an appointment is perfectly normal. Five stars. read more

I have been excited about Reiter Hill and was a long time patient. I called the day before to reschedule my appointment. The call was noted but they did not see where I canceled. I must have called for whatever reason except actually cancelling. They then sent a request for 50 dollars for no show. I called to ask that the fee be reviewed. They did -its my fault. I will pay it because they will make this a credit issue-and then I am going to file a small claims court case. read more

I've been going to this office for three years. I used to be a patient of Dr. Hill's before he retired, and I loved him. He was so kind and helpful, and I was really disappointed to see him leave. Since then, I've been seeing Dr. Engel, and he is FANTASTIC. He's very non-judgmental, understanding, helpful, not at all condescending, and he's actually pretty funny too. He also always responds to my numerous emails within 24 hours. On a similar note, the people at the front desk have always been kind and positive. They can be hard to connect with via phone in the mornings, but I've always found them to be responsive and supportive. read more

As a chronic doctor hopper, it's pretty amazing that I have been seeing Muffy (I mean, a gyno named Muffy...how could you go wrong?!?) and the other gynos at Reiter, Hill, Johnson and Nevin for almost four years now. Although I have not spawned yet, for basic down-there health I could not recommend this practice more. I wax poetic about them to all my friends for the following reasons: 1) Knowledgeable doctors who take the time to educate you. I've been at places where It's more like "Wam, Stirrup, Pap Smear, Bam" but at Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin they take the time to let me know exactly what they are doing and all the options I have as a patient.. They are also not afraid to bring up issues that I should be thinking about for the future. To quote NBC: "Knowledge is power" so I appreciated this. 2) Appointments are very easy to make (although it would be better if they had an online system). I still find their magazine selection to be a bit paltry but thanks to the invention of the iPhone, I no longer find myself thumbing through outdated issues of Redbook in boredom anymore. Let's face it, going to the gyno is no slice of cake but for awesome care Reiter, Hill, Johnson and Nevin can't be touched. read more

This place is awful. I wasn't going to write a review but I find myself being reminded about how awful I was treated now that I am in my second pregnancy and looking for a new practice. I gave birth in 2018 and was seen by different Doctors at RHJ. They were condescending and one went as far as to tell me that my baby would would die if I didn't get the flu shot. I'm not sure if it's because I am a person of color but some of the doctors treated me like I was an ignorant child (I have a masters degree- safe to say I can read and understand concepts) when I refused certain interventions. Anyway, the only doctor I liked was one that didn't seem to care one way or the other what interventions I wanted and refused. It was great bc I didn't have to feel stressed about going to my appointment. I was practicing hypnobirthing techniques so I saw this as a plus at the time but that Dr. ended up being the one to deliver my baby. Although the nonchalant attitude was nice for prenatal care, not so much when your baby is being delivered. Thank God the nurses as Sibley were amazing! When I went for my follow up appt it was almost as if the doctor I saw was annoyed that it took me so long to be seen after the birth of my first child or upset that I had requested to see a different doctor than the one that delivered my baby. She was just clearly annoyed with me. Uh, sorry?! I had a newborn that I was getting the hang of caring for and I wasn't ecstatic about coming to a place that treated me like I wasn't allowed to have a brain. That last doctor I saw asked me if I had any questions and I mentioned that my knees had been really painful. She was like "oh, that's not my specialty" (insert: haha you silly dumb dumb)...I felt stupid but went home and looked up what could be the cause and apparently it's very common after giving birth. This place is awful awful awful. No need to respond RHJ. Just focus on being kinder, listening to your patients, and validate their concerns. Oh, and please don't tell them their baby is going to die unless you have medical evidence that something is wrong with the pregnancy and even then- just don't. Not like that. read more

I went there as I was pregnant for the first time. Many miscommunications between the doctor, me, and the front desk. The front desk person is straight-up rude. Do not recommend if you want to have a happy pregnancy and calm appointments. I will not make another appointment (anyway the front desk refused to take mine because I was coming from out of state). I will go to MedStar Washington Hospital which has better doctors and front desk staff. read more

I have never left a review for a medical practice before, but I've had such a terrible experience over the past few months that others deserve to save themselves the stress and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. First off, this place doesn't answer their phones in a timely or professional manner. Every single time I have called, I have had to wait at least 30 minutes to get someone live on the phone. The last time I called, I waited TWO HOURS! It's definitely hit or miss on who you get on the line in terms of whether they are rude or actually helpful. Second, they have switched over to some new online portal system that has been an unmitigated disaster. I tried to log on today to get my patient records so I can transfer and run away as fast as possible to another practice, but of course the patient portal has crashed and isn't working. And guess what? There is no way to get a hold of anyone at the practice to help you with this. When I brought up the phone problems with a doctor, he shrugged it off and just said, yea, the phones are a mess, which made it very clear to me that they didn't care to fix anything. Second problem- they billed half of my lab results to Labcorps and the other half to some random out of network lab, so I have to pay out of pocket what could have been totally covered by Labcorps. When I called my insurance to walk through this all, they said that these doctors should know better and should be billing everything in network. Sounds like someone is trying to pocket some extra money to me. Third thing- last appointment, my doctor was 50 minutes late to my appointment. I was just sitting there in a room waiting, and waiting, and waiting. And when she finally did come in, she just asked me if everything was ok and then sent me on my way. Why did I wait 50 mins for her to tell me nothing? Totally useless. Then she told me to set up an appointment before I left because I likely wouldn't be able to get anyone on the phone. Another doctor who acknowledges how incompetent their system is, but sees no reason to fix it. So I walk outside and there are no receptionists at the front desks. I wait for about 5 mins and keep saying "hello," and no one shows up. So I have to leave without having an appt set up for next time, which was a big mistake since you can't get anyone on the phone and their online portal system doesn't work so you can't even set up an appointment online. Overall, there are just too many bad things about this place to continue seeing them. I encourage everyone to find any place but here- the frustration will drive you to curse words or tears or both. Experience with IUD was painful, largely because the admin never told me to take pain reliever before the appointment and the nurse was also was not gentle. I've had an iud placed previously (was also not reminded to take pain reliever beforehand) and it was cut too short and and resulted in an hour of digging around to remove it ...that was less painful than this NP's measurement an insertion. Bedside manner also left something to be desired. I had also asked for the five year when making the appointment, only to be told I would have to undergo all new steps to get it put in versus the three year (five year was covered by my insurance but apparently three year was now no longer covered) only to then be told in the appointment that was not the case but it was too late to change my mind. This was all extremely disappointing given I had been going here for years; customer service, knowledge and bedside manner have gone extremely downhill. The only thing going for this place is that it's easy to get an appointment...but maybe the aforementioned reasons is why! read more

Reiter Hill is disorganized and chaotic on their best days. It is impossible to get an appointment or speak to your doctor (or any doctor, for that matter), and they are constantly making mistakes. I have seen women crying in their waiting room. I made the mistake of sticking with this practice because the location was convenient, but I recently left in tears myself after a very negative experience with Dr. DeMik, and I will not be returning. The practice switched me to Dr. DeMik when my doctor moved to another practice. Dr. DeMik recommended that I have surgery, but was completely uniformed and could not answer basic questions about my options. He said he needed to consult with another doctor and promised he would call me with more information the following Monday. He didn't call, and when I called the practice they told me he wasn't in the office on Mondays. I was alarmed by my experience and researched him after my appointment, and almost immediately came across a public post on social media where he stated that he would "rather be murdered" than be at work. I was blown away, and I feel horrible for any women that he treated that day.
