Shopping in Las Vegas, Nevada... My two friends hadn't been to Shanghai Plaza before, so, I parked the car at the first space that I saw (because this shopping center is very crowded and popular) and we started walking from one end to the other. Reiwatakiya was a new store to me... however, it looked familiar. After reading reviews, I found out that it used to be "Shibuyala"! Ahhh... I have been here before - over two years ago! This store still has cute plushies and Asian cosmetics and skin care products. Last time, I got a Cony hairband and joined their rewards program. This time, I escaped without spending any money... yay! Service was okay. The gals were busy unpacking boxes and setting out the new merchandise. There are two things in life that will get me to spend money, Sanrio Plush and Cute stuff. Unfortunately this store is the combination of both cute and interesting as there's something for people that love make up or they just need a new plush to take home. I think the decor is just overall pink and it's vibrant through out the store, there's nothing wrong with it but I think it can be jarring to who it is catering to. There's loads of make up aisles you could probably get lost in but there's deals that are promoted so you could tempt yourself if you actually need it or not. The plushies? They are so cute and yet, so dangerous. I wanted to buy a lot but my suitcase had no room to spare; it was already full from the other plushies I bought from neighboring shops! Despite my brief visit here, I didn't have any issues but I did notice the prices were a bit higher here. Perhaps I did not take that into account; if I'm on vacation I just spend without thinking if that makes any sense. I don't regret my purchase one bit! read more

Although I didn't buy anything, I really liked this store. They have a lot of great beauty products. They also sell Laneige there. The Laneige products they had though I already owned. Thinking about it now, I should have bought them because I have the American version. I want to see how the ingredients compare. Anyhow, Staff was normal. They greeted me on the way in. They have a wide variety of skincare and makeup products. The also had household, and sanrio items. Prices seemed fair. I mean the Laneige products were on point with what I normally pay. I think on my next visit to Vegas, I'll stop and get some beauty products. We were slightly pressed for time, so I didn't get to "shop" like I normally would lol. read more

The last time we were at Shanghai Plaza in Las Vegas back in Sep 2023, this cute little shop had a whole different name as "Shibuyala". It is now called "Reiwatakiya". Not sure why they renamed it, but it's the same owner. I know because I asked. Maybe they wanted to rebrand. Who knows! Anyway, I had bought a very moist lip cream that was Pokeman themed last time and I wanted to buy it again since I've already used it all. I looked and didn't see it. Right before heading to the cashier, I noticed a wall of chapsticks near the front entrance so I walked over there and nothing. My eldest daughter turned around and she saw it right on the other side from where I was standing. I was so happy. They have 4 flavors... yuzu, strawberry, melon, and grape. I got 2 strawberry and 2 melon even though they were $10 each... hey, my lips deserve the best moisture LOL. Just don't know when I'll be back to Vegas LOL. I also got 2 masks. I normally don't do masks, but thought it'll be fun for my daughter and I to experience during our road trip. Staff was pleasant. Ambiance was bright and welcoming. Merchandise sold here varies from cosmetics to household stuff to foods... primarily cosmetics though. It's worth a visit. You never know what gem you will find... maybe the best lip cream or chapstick ever LOL. read more

Reiwatakiya is another Asian/Japanese themed store that I love. They have some Sanrio items and other novelty items. There is a good amount skin care items, cosmetics, some baby care, and limited snacks, ice cream, and drinks. I'm always on the hunt for Sanrio merchandise and this store didn't have a whole lot. They had more cosmetics/skin care than anything, so I didn't purchase anything this time around. I don't know how long this store has been opened, but I'm hoping they get more Sanrio items in the future. read more

The first thing you smelled when you get in the store was sewage mixed with some soap or whatever fragrance they sold in the store. I decided to purchase some Hello Kitty Nail Tips for $17. As I went to the cashier, that a bit big Asian young woman didn't say hi or hello not even smile instead she asked if I wanted to buy a bag for my Hello Kitty nail. Place is ok for when I need my stuff but I DO NOTICE that one older lady with a bob cut is a BULLY to her staff. A younger employee accidentally bumped into her and the older lady (who was on her phone btw) gave her the nastiest look!! The younger employee looked terrified and apologized when it happened yet the older lady seemed disgusted. To see this up front at the register is very concerning I hope management see's this and does something (I'm sure they won't). For a staff member to be scared for a small thing and probably being scolded for an accident isn't right :| read more

The girls are usually very friendly and ready to help. The older Chinese lady doesn't seem very welcoming and is often sitting on her phone every time behind the register whenever my friends or I come in. I'm surprised when she standing up checkout when sees us buying a lot of products for once she actually working not on her phone! read more

It's easy to get carried away and be impulsive in this store because everything looks cute and/or smells good. On my last trip, the store assistant was a little pushy and kept trying to upsell. For example, she wasn't happy when I said I didn't need any help. When I showed interest in her recommendation, she tried to make me buy multiples. She also recommended the wrong shampoo for my hair type (which I found out too late). So I called the store the next day and at first, the lady who picked up the phone sounded sweet, but as soon as I asked about their return policy, she turned curt. TL;DR: beware that they'll try to upsell, and they don't accept returns or exchanges! Also, if you actually know where to get Japanese stuff, you'll know that their prices are at least 50% higher. read more
