We are new to the area and drive by this place often. Recently, we decided to stop in for lunch. It was one of the hottest days of the recent "canicule" (heat wave) in France, so we were melting. The beautiful dining room was a welcome sight. Unfortunately, we were politely asked if we could order something from the menu that didn't need to be cooked, because the kitchen was too hot and they had no air conditioning. We were happy to oblige, and, in fact, were pleasantly surprised by the things we ordered, which we probably wouldn't have ordered otherwise. I had the Verrine de Fromage Frais and Dos de Saumon, and my hubby had the Gaspacho Tout Jaune and Carpaccio de Boeuf. All were delicious and it was a reminder that stepping outside your comfort zone once in a while is often quite rewarding. read more
