My husband and I started going to the "Relax Ave Day Spa" about 3 years ago after receiving gift certificates for our birthdays. Best gift ever!!! Even though we live in Tracy, we travel the extra miles because we feel it is worth it once we get there. We always receive an hour of great service, a clean and relaxing environment and all at a very reasonable price. Recently my husband and I made appointments at the spa for 60-minute Swedish massages. We were greeted by Eva at the front desk who made us feel like valued customers. She was very friendly and at the same time, professional. She thanked us for our business when we checked in and before we left. My massage was with Tina, and my husband's massage was by Liya. They both gave excellent massages; you could tell that they knew what they were doing and cared about the service they provided. They checked in on us several times to make sure the pressure was acceptable, and to make sure we were comfortable. The whole experience was very relaxing and left us wanting more!! My wife made a reservation, asked clearly and repeatedly for female massage therapists, and placed the required deposit three days prior to appointment. I got sick and asked to be rescheduled hours before the appointment. They said deposit is non-refundable even with rescheduling. We drove 40mins to the place and checked-in and gave us male therapists. They said they don't have female therapists for the day and there was no note on their reservation, asking for female therapists. Such a hassle and poor customer service on their end for their mistake. They offered to reschedule us but the receptionist was not apologetic at all. We asked for the deposit to be refunded and got it back. Overall, poor customer service. Even though the place looks nice and it was recommended by a coworker, poor customer service at the front end like this will not attract future customers. read more

It was a 60 min massage which I had her focus on my upper and lower back. After leaving this spot, I felt like a brand new person! I felt light as a feather and had no crinks in my body. I've been going to Relax Ave for almost 6 years and every time has been pleasant. I used to go regularly for a 30-60 minute foot massage and they work magic! I most recently started going again and have been booking a 60 minute Swedish massage. I hold a lot of stress in my stomach and asked the receptionist if she could make a note of that and who the best massage therapist would be for me. I went in today, the receptionist went over with me what the massage therapist could do for my stomach and when I got in the massage room the therapist talked me through what she was doing. PERFECT! My doctor diagnosed me with shoulder impingement and pretty much said to do PT, ice and take ibuprofen. I was looking at different methods to relieve the pain. I started to look for Thai massage because I had that done in LA in my other shoulder and it was a miracle. Could raise my arm again. I came across Relax which does offer Thai massage but I noticed they had the acupressure treatment. I called and bless that they were able to get me in yesterday after work. I met with Brian Dao. All I can say is that this helped tremendously! I won't lie and say it didn't hurt a bit but today I'm at least 75% better. First time I didn't take ibuprofen 800 to sleep in weeks. I've always had relaxing massages at this location, however today was the opposite. The foot massage felt like a massage you'd get while just getting a pedicure, nothing special. The masseuse seemed like she did not know what she was doing. Mid-massage, she asked me if I was there for a 60minute massage, which I confirmed. She kept doing the same massage technique on me throughout the 60 minute time. I kept thinking she hasn't gone through the normal Swedish massage routine. I looked up at one point and asked how much longer was left and informed her two times she was hurting me during the massage. I'm so disappointed in my massage today, and unfortunately will be looking for a new place to go to. read more

I've been to this place a number of times. Last time was the absolute best. I believe her name is Harry, or something like that. At first I had low expectations because she is a female and I was worried she wouldn't be strong enough ( an assumption on my part from previous experiences other places) but I was very wrong. She was amazing. She read my body without having to check in. She worked on my problem area and didn't skimp. She even told me where the problem was coming from and focused on that too. My husband bought me a gift card here for a deep tissue massage. I had several knots and aches and pains that would not go away. I also had a migraine plus my feet hurt. Work was killin' me! I finally got to use my gift card and added the 30 minute foot massage. This first visit was absolutely amazing !! 5 stars. I came on a Saturday. I walked into a Sanctuary feeling. It was quiet and peaceful. I feel asleep to the foot massage and had to be woken up to go back to the room for my deep tissue body massage. I loved my session so much that I scheduled another session for the following Friday with the same massage therapist. Friday came and hardly anyone was here. This time a younger female was working the front desk. She said masks were required and had me put one on. However, she wasn't wearing one. I was here last week and wasn't asked to put one on ?? And if I have to put one on, then why aren't you wearing one? It was weird. On a Friday, there was no sanctuary feeling :-( There was A lot of giggling and laughing, doors slamming, workers saying good bye to their clients loudly. The whole vibe was off especially with my session too. Your feet get soaked in warm water before your foot massage starts. While your feet are soaking, you get a head and temple massage. After my head and temple massage, the massage therapist left to throw away the water and I felt like she didn't come back for awhile. It was long enough for me to open my eyes because I felt like I was left lol She came back wearing gloves on her hands. The massage therapist massaged my feet with gloves on that kept sliding off so she had to stop, fix her gloves, and continue. Again, really weird because she didn't have them on last Saturday. I looked to the left at the male massage therapist massaging his client's feet and he didn't have gloves on. I realized this was 30 garbage minutes for sure. My actual massage in the room was amazing but again the vibe was off. The room wasn't as nice as the room I had last Saturday. The music was louder then last week too. The part you put your face down in (face pillow) kept moving and shifting like it wasn't secured on to its post tight enough. Possibly defective and it definitely wasn't comfortable. Every time it shifted I can hear it and I felt like the face pillow was gonna come off it's post. I was so stressed out! I was worried the whole time about the face pillow coming off and me face planting into the post or worse. So I felt like my face was just hanging on for dear life the whole time. Lol My heart was beating rapidly, My anxiety was elevated, and I was stressed. The clock in this room was also broken so I had no idea how long I was in there for??? I had a 12 noon appointment but the clock displayed 9:45. Not like the appointment I had last Saturday, the clock displayed the correct time. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I scheduled another session but came to my senses and cancelled it the next day. How could 2 visits be so vastly different? read more

I decided to get a massage on my day off and lucky me, it was tranquil Tuesday and the 60 min session of half foot massage, half Swedish was only $40, I was pumped. I asked for a female masseuse and wanted the Swedish massage first, instead got a male masseuse and foot massage first... rough start. I didn't know what to expect getting the foot massage in the big open room with other people, and was worried the neck massage I was getting while my feet were soaking was the "Swedish". However, I ended up getting a nice foot rub and the Swedish portion was done in a private room to my relief. My masseuse, James, was skillful in working out the many knots in my neck and upper back. I felt completely relaxed and did not feel like he rushed me at any point. I have never gone to a spa or massage place but my family gave me card for Christmas knowing I had back problems and so a massage was perfect for me! Being perfectly honest I had concerns about going and was nervous as I did not know what to expect but I was immediately calmed when I walked in and the environment was so friendly and inviting. I just got a 30 minute chair massage but they were very respectful asking me twice if I was okay with the pressure and even when they applied a hard pressure it was still very gentle. Wife booked a massage, confimed with online link, called the next day and paid. They had no record of my appointment, the payment. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they were in lunch and I could give them my wife's CC number to refund what was paid. Hmmmm if you dont have a record of the transaction why would I give you the credit card number? Poor customer service and all I received was excuses why I was wrong. What was suppose to be a relaxing day ended up ruined. Update 5 minutes later... I had to show proof of payment after going back and forth with them. The front desk person basically insinuated that I could be lying so they need to double check and make sure the payment actually went through. The transaction was done over the phone, my wife paid $60, and they charged her $80, when she called they asked why, she was told oh we can refund the amount or it can be a tip! My husband and I just had a life changing couples massage at Relax Ave in Livermore following it's reopening after the shut downs. I had Jack and my husband had Nikki, we both were so relaxed the entire time and felt so safe (the spa smells so clean, and is so clean! And they have filters in each room and everyone is wearing masks). The pressure was perfect for both of us, each of our masseuses checked with us a few times in the beginning to make sure the pressure was okay. What a wonderful way to spend our evening, 100% recommended!! 10/10 professionalism, comfort, cleanliness, attentiveness, etc etc. massage was 10/10, five stars for everything. Let me tell you her massage blew my mind, healed my pain! I genuinely mean this. I get weekly massages in Los Angeles and while my massage therapist does deep tissue and is a great massage therapist. Lulu was so amazing. I have never experienced a hot stone massage like this! This was by far one of the greatest experiences I've ever had regarding a massage! Lulu is so talented. She had just the right amount of pressure. I told her about my back surgery and that I was leery of anybody working near my sacrum/ lower back and she was very respectful of that. She removed my pain. I walked in with pain and I walked out rejuvenated and stress-free. That's how massage should feel! I realize that doesn't always happen at other places but I am so grateful I was just genuinely blown away about how good this massage was and how great I feel right now! I lucked upon relax ave day spa while doing a quick search via the net. Read the reviews and placed the call. The receptionist answered the phone promptly and inquired what we were looking for and got us booked. We opted for the couples' 90-minute foot reflexology/ hot stone massage combo. The receptionist advised that they take a $25 per person deposit that will go towards your services. Fast forward to us arriving...We were greeted by the receptionist who checked us in and escorted us to the waiting area where we completed a short check-in sheet. We were called back by Vivi & Joyce...to a large area with multiple oversized chairs for foot reflexology. We were given a warm, eye covering mask that felt so good and totally relaxed us. The foot reflexology was wonderful. I think I went to sleep..lol. We were then escorted into the couples massage room. It was dimly lit, smelled wonderful, and there was a low hum of an air purifier...total relaxation. The hot stone massage was a 1000/10! It was one of the best we have ever had. I've been going to this spa for a while now because it is close to the house. The foot massages are my go to because the body massages are often a hit or miss. I have been sore lately so I decided to get a body massage with a few friends as a bday treat. My body massage sucked. I asked for a Swedish massage and I don't like a lot of pressure. Well the guy continued to dig his elbow into my back for an hour after being told to use less pressure twice. He never massaged my legs just my back so when I paid I did not tip. I tip according to service and the massage sucked. After we left these people had the nerve to call us to ask about the tips because my friends tipped in cash all different amounts. They enjoyed their massages and fell asleep while I wiggled in discomfort for 90 minutes. So today I checked my account and these fuckers had the audacity to write their own tip in and change the total on my receipt. I literally JUST came back from my 1 hour Swedish massage from Groupon ($29, when regularly $60). I liked the massage, but from the 5 stars from 37 reviews I guess I expected better. But overall I feel relaxed and still liked it. PROS: - The place is nice, clean, ambiance of relaxation throughout the whole room. - Dim private rooms with relaxing instrumental music, soft blankets (but there was a ticking clock that I wish was digital instead) - Good massage for great price. I had Nancy and she was good, but I've had better elsewhere. But she was really friendly and nice. CONS: - Masseuses do not know how to speak English! They know a few things like "turn face down" or "turn face up" and "massage is over"... but that's pretty much it. I wanted to tell her certain things but thought "forget it it's too much work" and going through the trouble of trying to have her understand me wasn't going to keep me relaxed - One time Nancy was massaging my arm and didn't have enough oil, so it was dry and was as if she was pulling my skin. I told her "more oil" and I'm glad she understood that. - My appointment was at 8pm & I requested a girl masseuse.. I came a little before, and the front lady told me that they started the appointment before me 10 minutes late, so if I wanted a girl masseuse I would have to wait, unless if I don't mind a man then I could start right away. I said I would wait as long as I get the full 60 min massage. She said I would. I think my massage was 8:20pm-9:15pm. A little bit short, but it was fine. I still felt fully relaxed. OVERALL: This is a great massage for those around Livermore. It's relaxing, nice, calm, and affordable. But I expected more and don't think I would drive 30 minutes just for a massage here since it is a bit far. If I do, I'll make sure to book in a weekend and not at the very last time slot. read more
