Every year, Miami Lakes United Methodist does a pumpkin patch fundraiser in the month of October…read more Every year, it's always such a decorated fundraiser that you see if you pass by the street driving alone. There are pumpkins upon pumpkins. You can buy one to go, as usually shipments happen once every week or so, and you can also take photos with them. With them, and well, all the props they have. This is mostly a delight for kids, but hey, as an adult, I enjoy it as well. For years now I've been saying I was surprised admission was free, but that case is no longer. Adults pay $3 on weekdays and $5 on weekends. When going in, though, there's more variety than ever. They actually hand you coupons to use towards the purchase of pumpkin should you choose to buy one. Other goodies being sold include photos, kettle corn, drinks, face painting, you get the idea. Oh, and there's a show with a pumpkin patch princess. Definitely something for the little ones, and of course, for those young at heart.

The location is hard to find at first. The entrance is in the back parking lot, for those who get easily lost like myself. They have a beautiful outdoor setup for fellowship and coffee, tea, and light snacks. They also have a condensed version of their store to purchase merchandise. The worship and word was great. My only gripe is (like another Yelper mentioned ) they don't enforce mask wearing, which I thought was shocking since we are in the middle of the omicron surge. In that time, I have moved in and out of the area several times and regardless of the time that has passed, when I return, I am greeted with the same love and consistency I have grown so fond of. The Pastors, Roberto and Mirta Colloca are the real deal when it comes to teaching you the Bible alongside demonstrating that they truly care about their members. The worship and music time in Vida Abundante is second to none--filled with vitality, passion and life. The people that attend here are a mix of ages and backgrounds, yet consistently all humble, kind and joyful. It is a pleasure to attend here time and time again. If you are looking for a church in the Hialeah/Miami Lakes/Miami Gardens area, this should be a stop on your list.
