We had an excellent experience working with Christina Williams and Leslie Kingery of Hunter Rowe Real Estate. After a lot of work and searching, they helped us find the perfect house in downtown Raleigh and walked us through putting in the offer, negotiations and the final closing. Christina and Leslie made a great team, there was almost instant communication with them both and it made any difficulties with sellers that much smoother knowing that we had people working for us. Be aware that there is $400.00 fee to the buyers that will go on the Settlement Statement, this is good to be aware of since typically all of the realtor fees are paid by the seller. The fee is only listed on the paperwork you sign once you've put in the offer, but in our situation was never verbally disclosed so unfortunately we were unaware of it until signing the closing paperwork. Buying a home can be quite the process, it was our first time going through that, however it was nice having someone "hold our hand" through the experience. I would certainly recommend Christina or Leslie moving forward to any new home buyer. read more

Update(2 days later) : After chatting with this CEO, I am now even more thoroughly convinced that this Real Estate firm doesn't feel they have any responsibility to reach out and communicate with prospective buyers during the course of selling a home. I was lied to about the HOA rules and regulations of the home I was looking at, so I've purchased the house and I can't do what I want or what I need to do for my personal business on the property. I specifically asked questions to my realtor with Hunter Rowe about HOA rules and regulations and was assured it wouldn't be a problem. The inspection by their recommended inspectors missed several things and was very unprofessional - it seemed like the guys first home inspection. They also failed to notify me that there would basically be construction in my backyard. I bought the house because it backed up to the woods and now they're doing construction, including on the weekends, and I've lost my privacy and I can't sleep! I would highly recommend you go with a practice that listens to their clients needs, addresses what their clients ask them to address (i.e. Can you park a trailer at your property per the HOA? They said I could and I can't!), and is more organized from the top down. As soon as I found this house, somebody else started handling things for Hunter Rowe and did such a poor job that they were FIRED! I commend them for taking quick action on that poor employee and the realtor was very responsive when I called or emailed, so I gave them 2 out of 5 instead of 1/5. It felt like Time Warner Cable - as soon as I was transferred all communication fell through and I needed to start over with the new guy about who I was and what I wanted. Why hand me off to somebody I've never met when I chose my realtor and that is who knows what I want and what I need? Maybe the HOA stuff was lost in the hand-off. This was the biggest decision of my life to date and one of the biggest I will make in my lifetime and Hunter Rowe severely misrepresented my wishes and desires. UPDATE: I spoke with the owner, Mike, at length. He was very generous with his time and very concerned about my situation. Mike let me know what I can legally do on my behalf, even if that negatively impacted his business. I will provide another update on that as it's unlikely they did anything illegal and they followed the law. Mike isn't happy with just following the law and is committed to growing and meeting his clients needs and is going to implement new policies and procedures so the next client doesn't have to experience the same thing. I probably should've contacted Mike before I contacted the realtor that I worked with at the firm and wrote this review, but you always want to be especially careful when making the biggest decision of your life. A little extra work on their end would've prevented this disaster, but that work will be done for the next client. The best solution for me is to sell my house and move into a new house that meets my needs and go through this process all over again. It's not an easy process and now I'll be selling a home on top of buying one so it's even more work than the first time. It is very grueling and the last thing I want to do, but when it's affecting your personal life, your sleep and therefore your performance at work there is something that needs to be done. I'm confident the next client will be in good hands with Hunter Rowe and that they're committed to getting better on the clients behalf. read more
