Really enjoyed the 2 hours we spent in here. Lot's of unique booths with really great stuff. Somethings were priced too high (but that's the vendors issue not the mall's) but I was able to find Lots of good deals anyways. Really loved how cute some of the booths were arranged. The ladies at the front desk were super nice about holding on to things for us while we shopped to free up our hands :) and when we needed them to up a case for us they were quick about finding the right keys and knowing where I meant even though I couldn't recall the case number. Update: In there again and I noticed when I was browsing in the back they have posted byt there cases a phone number to call the store for the case key. Saves the really long walk back to the front! Poor Relics with the bad reviews! It sounds like people have had strangely horrendous experiences here, although I'm not sure I trust the circumstances cited. I've been to the tea room and the mall itself both a few times and I've had nothing but lovely experiences. Plus, the employees I've always talked with have been very sweet. As far as the mall itself goes, it's definitely one of the better ones in Springfield, although its downfall (to me) is that the vendors know the quality of what they're selling too much to make anything feel like a bargain, at least in general. Don't get me wrong, I respect those who put an hard price on pieces that deserve it, but that spoils the fun for me when my wallet is a little thin. Thus, I don't come here very often. However, there are still steals to be found and incredible treasures do hide here. Examples - some amazing vintage clothing pieces, kitchenware and ceramics, retro goodies, and quirky art prints. I would suggest coming in the morning so you don't hit a slump and pass out one one of the couches. Something about Relics is kind of exhauating - I guess because of its sheer size. Still, it's worth the trek across town if you've got the energy. Cool story I'll share before posting this: I bought a really nice art deco dresser here earlier this year, and upon unlocking the top compartment, I discovered a wedding license from 1911. Such a cool find! Still trying to track down the family it belongs to, but I've got Relics to thank for the fun history adventure. read more

My house would be bare without them! We didn't bring a lot with us when we moved into our unique, quirky home. Thank goodness for Relics! We bought so many pieces, from griffon-inspired wood, to rusty porch bench. No, the items weren't cheap, but who wants cheap items? If you're looking for those, please shop at the indoor flea markets around town. Relics carries high-quality pieces with prices that are reasonable for high-quality pieces! And there are bargains there as well. The staff is pleasant and helpful, the store is neat and clean, and there is so much to see it boggles the mind. What more can a shopper ask for? read more

vendor here for quite a while now... im sooo disappointed in the amount of theft. after having a booth that I manage to make a profit every month the amount of items stolen or as they call it missing equals more than any profits ive made. they boast record breaking sales every month for the store but what about the record breaking thefts? I've had it and I will be seeking another location for my booth rental. I can see from reviews this has gone on here for years and their security hasn't changed one bit to fix it and the staff is numb to your complaints. im not sure if it's Springfield in general or because the enormous size of the building and they just cant control all the theft. they have a photo wall of criminals too but it doesn't stop em... ohh and.. another big issue... as a customer they have tons of great stuff so yes its a great place to shop but as a vendor it's an epic fail after all my hard work I put into my booth. VERY UNHAPPY!! this place won't provide electric to your booths to be able to get any security. they won't allow locking cases in your booth cause they want you to rent one from them.. im thinking of filing a police report. large and small items will be ripped off here, new, used, handmade, doesn't matter they will steal it. you've been warned! read more

Items are so crowded that it's dangerous. I picked up a statue, set it back on the shelf, which was unstable, it fell and broke. Took it to the front desk and told them what happened. They didn't bother asking if it fell on me or anyone else. Only response was, "We charge 50% for any broken items". They lost a customer and gained negative publicity for $7.50. Ridiculous! No signs posted anywhere that this is store policy. Bad business. read more

Huge flea market type antique shop. We were only going to spend 20 minutes in there. $200 and an hour later we found tons of sweet stuff.

My first experience was ok. My Grandparents come from Colorado every year to visit my family and last year they found this place. They loved the setup of it all, mainly due to the fact my Grandmother runs a few booths of her own back home. She was overly excited to return this year, but was only disappointed. The tea room was a joke and the employees are the worst. And after that experience neither of us will ever return. In fact the $200 worth of purchases we had gathered @ the front... We left and told the man @ the register we wouldn't be buying anything after the horrible experience inside. read more

This is such a great antique mall - one of the cleanest in town. It was fun to see everything from jewelry to furniture as we"stepped back in time". We enjoyed our visit to Relics. Somehow I totally missed the tea room part...not sure if it's tiny or I'm just blind? Anyway, the antique mall was on the nicer side and very spacious. This place is spotlessly clean compared to most of the competition. Lots of high quality items on offer. However, you will probably not find a lot of dirt cheap bargains, either. They did have an excellent assortment of furniture items and tasteful vintage decor and ephemera. Perhaps we visited at the wrong time (a weekend day right after Christmas) but on leaving there was an extremely long line. While we opted not to wait and make a purchase, my husband and I will definitely return in the future. read more

Terrible place!!! Don't ever give them business!!! My 16 year old son bought an axe that he thought was $27.00; It was actually $127.00. He was in shock when he paid and walked out in the parking lot to look at his receipt and see what was so expensive. He saw what it was and went back in to return it. He was unable to get any refund. I called and talked to Teresa the manager who was extremely rude and even though I was being polite, she hung up on me. I used to shop there but I will never give such a terrible business my money again! I hope no one else will ether. read more

I had to give this review a lot of thought because quite honestly, I came away from this place with very mixed feelings. When I walked in, the impression I got from the front of the mall was, "wow, this is going to be an incredible treat with tons of European antiques!" Well, the front of the store is in no way an accurate representation of what the rest of the mall is like. I don't think I've seen so much English oak in one location! Seriously, booth after booth had barley twist gateleg tables, corner cabinets, sewing tables, side tables....all English and mostly oak. I then found out that the proprietors of the mall were the ones who imported all (or a very large percentage) of the English and European pieces. There were also some booths, rented out to dealers, that had other merchandise but quite a few of those booths were not up to par with the European displays. My thought was: no big deal...each mall is different and that's just the way this mall is set up. The ladies up front were helpful and explained that the discount policy was 10% off items over $20 if paid in cash and the dealers could be contacted with offers submitted on items over $50. In looking around, I found a cute side table in a dealer's booth and with the 10% was already a great price so I didn't ask for a further discount. Then I found a small English oak table (one of the proprietor's items) marked $135 so I asked the ladies up front if they would take $115 cash, that's roughly a 15% discount. So, what they came back with was....get this.....$5 off! Seriously! What happened to the 10%? Very confusing! Anybody who goes antiquing on a regular basis knows that haggling on the price is part of the fun, and any mindful dealer is going allow for this in their pricing. And I'm not talking huge discounts...maybe 15% to 20%. Well, thinking perhaps they would give a decent discount for purchasing in quantity, I decided to round up a few nice furniture pieces and submitted a reasonable offer, for purchasing all of them with cash. Keep in mind that all these pieces are imported pieces owned by the proprietor of the mall. The best price they counteroffered with was slightly over 10%, maybe 11 to 12%....hardly the discount I was hoping for. I guess they didn't need my business. So I decided to just go with the few small items I had found in the dealers' booths (making sure they did not belong to the proprietor), and be on my merry way to the next place on the map. The reason I'm giving Relics 3 stars is because of the front desk staff who were understanding and patient and also for the dealers who rent space there and are trying to make a go of it in the antique business. These are the dealers who actually gave me a fair and reasonable discount and to whom I was happy to give my business. read more

If your a vendor and give them your 30 day notice that your leaving , they will still charge you for the months rent. You pay for the final month and they will rent out your booth and refuse to refund your security deposit and your rent that you already paid in advance. Stay Away if your a vendor. read more

I guess the bottom line regarding Relics is to visit yourself and see what you think. There's a bit of a conversation going between a representative of Relics and a customer. I don't want to choose sides. I've been there three times and really enjoyed looking around, but haven't bought anything so far. I really do want to visit the tea room, no matter what, because I've not done so yet. read more

By far the worst store I've been in. And the RUDEDST employees and management is a f*cking joke!!! My teenage brother went in and bought something we thought was 27$ but we didn't realize that it was 127$ until we got into the parking lot. Since he's 14 and doesn't have a job and can't afford to spend that much on one piece of rusty crap, we went back in and asked kindly what had happened and why my little brother is out 127$ he didn't even have. The rude lady at the cashier(Teresa)is always the same cashier everytime I come and every time she's extremely rude to us and other customers. We asked if we could return it or possibly exchange it, and she yelled at us and said "absolutely not do you people not know how to read the sign??!!" My little brother and I were surprised at her outburst and my little brother became upset. I kindly said we didn't even leave the premises we just walked out the door and walked right back in once we read the receipt. She once again refused and the other customers were watching with disbelief. I became embarrassed and upset so I thanked her and left. Once we were gone we told my parents and my dad called and asked to speak to the management and once he explained the situation the manager just hung up on him!! This is the worst experience and moist unprofessional behavior I've had or seen at any business in my whole life and worst of all my little brother is so upset and he lost all of his savings to the selfish idiots at relics antiques mall. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or hard earned money there! read more

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME FOR ANTIQUES AND KNICKNACKS!!!! My Grandmother and I were going to stay only about an hour from 11:00-12:00. At 2:30 we were exhausted, barely able to stand on our feet. We spent $75.00 worth in antique bottles for a cheap price and decided not to eat at the Tea Room because there were a bunch of think-their-so great women at each table. It looked good though! There was everything from a massive three-foot tall apple-shaped jug to $10,000 furniture to useless knick-knacks to jewelry to art. Some booths we just skimmed over, but some we spent 5 minutes or so in them, digging through the layers of goodies. We were there 4 1/2 hours and still didn't see it all. I hope to come back there by June 2013 because we live in Arkansas City, KS. read more

This place is not even deserving of one star! We've driven all across the country and visited antique stores in almost every state. There have even been people willing to keep their stores open long after closing. TODAY however quite the opposite occurred. We drove 250 miles in the snow, had a flat tire on the bridge and ultimately delayed our arrival. Along the way we called the store to confirm their hours and see if at all possible knowing we would probably get there by 6pm if we could race in for 5 minutes. We arrived at 6:05 and were rudely approach and told they were closed. We explained the situation and politely asked if we could run to the one dealer's spot they told us on the phone. At that point the lady I spoke to earlier came to us. She was condescending and rude having no empathy for our plight. So much for antiquing in Springfield. Boy business must be booming if they are so cavalier about paying customers walking out the door. Buyer beware of where you spend your money. We certainly will not be back here. Perhaps the owners need to counsel their employees on service and hospitality. read more

I read the reviews and thought...really how bad can it be? It proved true. I brought 3 items to the register and gave the lady my card. It rang up a HIGH so I questioned it. One of the items I purchased had two prices. One was $2 and she ran up the price written up on the outside of the zip lock bag for $18.50. I told her I didn't want it at that price. She told me no refunds. Really? I am still at the desk with my card in my hand? Bad business and will not return. No apologies or eye contact. read more

Mostly antiques in the front, Mostly junk in the rear. They should divide this into two stores. An antique store and a flea market/boutique. Billed as the largest antique mall in the state. It is the largest building. Lots and lots of unrented booths with or without the owners furniture in them. More NEW, REPRODUCTION, or over-priced flea market items than I have ever seen. most ho-hum mall I have ever been in. I had a terrible experience here and will never go back. I stopped in to browse because I had time to kill. My regret is that I didn't leave my purse in the car. I entered a booth. To get into it I had to walk past a mirror sitting on a table. The mirror was just leaning against a wall, not secured and about 8 to 12 inches of the mirror stuck into the walkway which was very narrow and cluttered. I got past it fine and then forgot about it while I was browsing the items in the booth. The space was so small and cramped that turning to leave consisted of a 180 degree turn but nevertheless my purse caught on the part of the mirror in the walkway and sent it shattering to the ground. It took another item with it. In such a small area the accident was destined to happen. I understand taking responsibility if you are being stupid or careless but I don't believe that was the case here. Nothing I said would convince them that the owner had some responsibility for placing the item in such a precarious and dangerous way. Their policy, which is not posted anywhere, states that customers pay 50 percent. That may not sound like a lot but some items are very expensive and there is a very real risk of serious financial liability. Additionally don't expect any acknowledgement of the seller sharing any responsibility. It will be judged your fault period, end of discussion. Though probably well intentioned I feel such a policy is dangerous, and acts as an incentive for sellers to place items in ways in which they will easily be broken, thus insuring a sale. Make the item a little over priced and the seller and mall make a tidy profit. It is not only dishonest but dangerous. Someone could have easily been hurt by flying glass. I was very upset by the incident and I don't want others to experience the same thing. Please give your business to someone else. If you do go there do not take a bag in with you because many of the booths are cluttered and it would seem no one checks to make sure items are placed safely. Additionally the items that broke were overpriced and not antique. I kept the mirror frame but it is ugly and not old though the tag called it an antique mirror. I believe I probably paid market value or close to it. I pity anyone who knocks over anything there priced in the hundreds of dollars, not to mention those priced in the thousands. Shop at your own peril. Just realize you risk serious financial liability should you have an incident like mine. read more

I love Relics. If you know the value of things sold there, I think their prices are very reasonable. It's not a yard sale type antique shop. But there are still low prices on many items. This shop has the real thing and with that comes a price. I have seen many one of a kind items you will rarely see again. Priced fairly. Honestly I think the prices are right in line with what they should be. It's a lovely place to spend a couple of hours and you will probably find an item you have been looking for a very long time. I have seen very rare items for prices comparable to a great discount for what you are buying. Just remember this is not a yard sale type store. The staff are wonderful, and I think in comparison to other shops in Springfield. the quality and prices are the best in town. And I have found there are always sales going on and I've shopped the entire USA to get things for my collections, this store is the cleanest and fairest among them all.. If you want quality and shop a place that takes great pride in their business. this is the place to start. read more
