I must admit, I myself have had a naive misconception of the demographic that would need a bail bondsmen. It's not something your average "Suzy Homemaker / Soccer Mom / Corporate Executive / Tutu Crafter / Country Music Blogger / Happy Wife," would ever foresee a need for. Well, that "Suzy," with all of those hats worn at the same time, ended up being me. I found myself in a devastating situation whereas, not only was my household mourning deeply over a loss, but now it's facing a scary road ahead. I spent the weekend prior dancing under the moonlight with my husband at a Country Music Festival, and when it was over we went back to our family routine. You don't ever think that one day you're starting your day kissing your children, driving them to school / work, and ending it in a concrete room with no idea what to think. After being told I couldn't go home to my family because my bail was set at $1M I was devastated. After 7-days, I had another opportunity for court and, this time, I asked for a bail reduction because I am aware of the restrictions set forth in the 8th Amendment that prohibits excessive bail amounts, and I knew that Humphrey's Law would come into play because my risk assessment score came in as a "low" and I've have no history of criminal activity; therefore, the courts cannot set a bail for more that what you can afford, since now my 21-year career was over (the story was quite public) and I know had no income... And I was the head of the household. The judge approved my bail reduction request and accepted my new bail request of $200k. Karlo had a notary at my parents house in Northern California within the hour, and my husband collected the last bit of funds received, and drove from the Coachella Valley to Riverside to meet Karlo at his office and complete the paperwork at 10 p.m. By 11 p.m. Karlo was on his way to the Banning Jail to post my bond. At 4 a.m. I heard the static of the loud speaker coming to life and an officer saying, "Wright, Roll out." By 6 a.m. I was back in my husbands arms. Karlo made the process so easy. He was a great resource during a situation where we simply had no information and the people around is weren't being very helpful. If you ever find yourself in a pinch, because, as I've recently learned, you just cannot predict the future. FYI: Keep in mind that your bail expires after 24-mo's, then you have to pay it again. i would not recommend these worthless poor excuses of human flesh i was out on bail and after i paid all of the fees and portion of bail they will not issue re assumption letter to reinstate bail forcing me to go turn myself in and sit in jail or pay another bail agency to bail out again without any prior warning and then want to put it off on insurance company stating its not up to them!
