While traveling before our flight to Christchurch we were looking for a quick breakfast. Remedy was only a 10 minute walk so we stopped by. For a Wednesday morning, it was packed! We ended up ordering through the outdoor window and waited on a bus bench outside since there wasn't enough seating indoors. I ordered the 8 oz matcha latte and fromage et toi (3 cheese toastie). The matcha latte wasn't sweetened at all, which I prefer. The foam was light yet creamy. The toastie was very cheese heavy, which I wasn't expecting! I swear I read on the menu that it came with other veggies, but I didn't find any in my food. It was still yummy, just very very cheesy and greasy. Next time I would love to try their vegan food options - they looked delish in the window!
A delicious shop! You can order to eat in or for take away. There's a separate outdoor counter for take away. We did take away and it was quick! The coffee is great and they have plenty of milk alternatives for NZD $0.50. The custard doughnut was EVERYTHING!! So soft on the outside and soooo flavorful in the vanilla bean custard. Loved it!
After seeing pics and the menu online, I knew I wanted to get breakfast here. I got the avocado toast #1, which came with smashed avocado, feta cheese, tomatoes, and basil. It was yummy and everything you want in an avocado toast. I also got a flat white, my first one ever, and it was delicious. This place gets very busy. There are a couple of hostels nearby and is close to Queen Street, so there's a lot of foot traffic. Because the place is small, it can be difficult to get a table. If so, you can order for takeaway from their takeaway window. I love the atmosphere. The warm wood tones, cool art, and good music. I can imagine staying there for awhile, especially on the couch at the back of the place. Plus, service was great. Their menu has several sandwich options, both for breakfast and lunch. They also have a few pastry options. Definitely check this place out.

Coming off a 15 hour flight we were looking for somewhere to grab coffee and a light bite before lunchtime. This place checked all the boxes! The coffee was delicious, I had an iced vanilla latte and loved it. Perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and flavorful between the vanilla and coffee. My partner had an iced mocha, and the ice cream inclusion was a fun new concept for us! But still very good. For food we got the cheese toastie and a breakfast burrito. Both were delicious. Only problem with the breakfast burrito was that the eggs were a bit watery so it dripped all over, but otherwise all good. Employees were all super nice, and the ambience was a great combination of funky and cozy. The other reviews stand correct when it comes to seating though. It is relatively small and busy, so we almost weren't able to find seats inside. I'd still say it's worth a visit though!
This was my inaugural visit to Remedy Coffee. A cute little establishment with a limited but inviting seating layout. I arrived uncertain of my selection from the menu, eventually choosing the delicious Flat White which came in a take away cup with Remedy's spunky little face logo snarling back at me. It was as if is she was questioning why it took me so long to make an appearance. Humbled, I sipped slowly. In addition I decided upon the scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. A breakfast treat that hit the spot as the eggs were soft scrambled and seasoned to a delightful degree. The cheery and pleasant service made the atmosphere a desirable place and a joint id like to hit again.
Right across the street from the Civic. Recommended for bohemian ambiance, staff that live coffee, and of course the flat white. Can't go wrong with the drinks you might try. There's a reason this joint has plenty of local business.
One of the few places in the city that open on the earlier side so you can get your busy day started! Got here at 6:25am and the mister was still setting up but told us to please come inside. It looks to be a husband and wife owned business and they are both so very nice. The decor in here is adorable and my son of course picked the inviting couch to sit on. Everything on the menu looked so good so we got a few things to share. Quinoa porridge - YUMMMM. Warm and homey with all my favorite fruits and the perfect amount of nuttiness. Toast with egg - my son LOVES his easy over eggs with toast so this was a hit. The bread that came with it was huuuge so he only ate one slice. There are a bunch of different spreads you can use to put on your bread so we took advantage of that on the 2nd slice, yay!! Smashed Avocado toast - do I really need to say good delicious this was!? I don't think Ive tasted an avocado toast I didn't like but this was definitely high up there. Chocolate croissant- warm and flakey and they even cut it up so it was easier for my son to eat. We also ordered some sandwiches for take out which were so nicely wrapped and cut. Perfect for on the go. I didn't get any pictures but we got the chicken tarragon and the chicken bacon cheddar sandwiches. Highly recommend if you need great sandwichs for lunch. Excellent place with great atmosphere, delicious food, and amazing service. They were quite busy while we were here with people just stopping in for coffee and others taking a seat to enjoy a meal. You definitely need to stop by here if you want an all around feel good meal!

We were originally planning to eat at a pancake place in the CBD but they were randomly closed for a holiday. We checked around and Remedy Coffee looked like a popular spot. It's right across from The Civic Theatre and beside both Bangkok Restaurant and Father Ted's Original Irish Bar. We dropped in for an early Monday bite (around 10:30am). The place was packed with people. We were able to grab the last free table outside. The inside is cool as there's board games, a game machine (saw someone playing Ms. Pac-man) and a book exchange. There's free wifi (note: it's in all capital letters) and water is self serve. - Flat white ($5.50 NZD) - B's go to drink. Decent but she had better in Australia. - Breakfast platter ($16.00 NZD) - bircher muesli with yoghurt and fruit and refried beans on sourdough with avocado, sour cream and chorizo. The chorizo was just okay. Think they were trying to go for a Mexican twist but it didn't work out. The yoghurt muesli was much better. Good bits of dried fruit, fruits and nuts. - Bacon, cranberry and brie sandwich ($11.00 NZD) - brie was oozy but nothing too out of the norm. I will say the 5 grain bread they use is good. They even gave the bread a nice toast. - Chicken in a lemon tarragon mayo, greens and gherkins sandwich ($11.00 AUD) - my dad's order. Sandwich was actually big and he had no problem eating it all. Oddly, they didn't toast this one. Decent but the food was merely average and service was slow. I'd try another cafe before returning again.

i highly recommend this breakfast spot in Auckland. it has a hippy vibe and we were welcomed with warm greetings and smile by all of the staff. both the coffee and food were amazing. the place is always packed so make sure to come in early to get a table. read more

Fantastic place, went here several times for morning coffees and a breakfast. Great vibe and great coffee with great staff. There are inside and outside seating a with great menu with varies coffee and baked good plus breakfast. Love my avocado bread and of course cappuccino. Just perfect for the morning. Staff are friendly and nice. The place is not that big but well layout with plenty of seating in different style from bar seating to couch setting, to table to window seating and outside. The decor is mixed of everything you can imagine a with plans which work well. Love it. read more
Busy busy shop early in the morning. Remedy is retro vibes all over and great brekkie vibe. They have a decent menu with pastries and sandwiches on display for a quick grab. I ordered a sourdough toast, two fried eggs, and smoked salmon on the side. The eggs were high quality with a rich yolk. The toast was lightly crunchy on the crust and fluffy in the middle. The savory salmon made the eggs even much more enjoyable paired nicely with a flat white. Despite the busyness, all the staff worked efficiently serving all the customers in a timely manner. I enjoyed my quick fuel stop after the gym and will be back again. read more

The coolest ambience and the most delicious açaí bowl I've ever had! I also had the latte and it was delicious and my husband had the bacon and egg on toast, he finished it in seconds. Great place! read more

Great breakfast or brunch spot! The atmosphere gives you a real homey feel with the vintage/thrifted furniture, the one of a kind art one the walls and the games/books for people to use! This cafe is unapologetically cool. We stopped by here for a late breakfast on Friday - and between two people we both got our own bagels (i got the salmon and my partner got the grace) and split the açaí bowl. Holy shit you guys. That açaí bowl was insanely good - a must try. I also got an iced americano, which was absolutely perfect. Overall a great place to hangout, with great service and fast WiFi. Not great for studying or working, but perfect for a date or friend meetup. Our service was also prompt and friendly. I would return happily. read more

Lovely little cafe right in the heart of Auckland. I asked the hotel concierge where he recommended for a good strong coffee and he said to go to Coffee Club - so it was Yelp to the rescue! Delicious Latte being ingested right now - exactly what the doctor ordered! Just the right balance PT bitterness and flavour. My kind of coffee. :) Also dove into a bacon and egg roll that was quite scrumptious. Always BBQ sauce!! I had actually walked right past this cafe twice but it was at night, it was dark, and it was closed so I didn't realise it was there. Quite the find! If you're in Auckland and looking for a good coffee to start the day, this is your place. As an added bonus, the decor is funky, the music is great, and the staff are really lovely too. read more

Ahhh Remedy. Reasons why you are awesome: 1. Attentive and friendly staff who are only too happy to help. I'll admit, when I stopped by this arvo for a sugar kick - they definitely delivered. I got a blueberry muffin served with a side of ice cream ( for no extra charge). Because it is never too early in the day for ice cream right? 2. Good coffee (see photo) 3. A relaxed space in the busy CBD. It' s just got a good vibe. I haven't explored the menu much foodwise as yet. But next time you are in the need of a coffee, and are in the area, you really should stop by for a visit. read more

A book lover's delight, Remedy Cafe has the most interesting book swap section I have ever seen. Well to be honest it is the first time I have seen a cafe that does book swaps. To me that was awesome, especially in this technological age of kindles and iPads and the such. I enjoy my down time at Remedy, with a cup of hot chocolate in one hand, a massive toast with peanut butter in the other and my eyes scanning through the bookshelf. The prices for coffee and drinks at this cafe are ridiculous, for $3 you can get a decent coffee and for $4 you can get a slice of toast the size of a 1/4 bread. The place is very laid back, rather on the hippy side with backpackers casual milling around sipping their coffees and the such. All I can say if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy your coffee in a serene, calm and colourful environment then Remedy is the place for you. read more

I'm not much of a reviewer but I found this place on Yelp so feel compelled to add some encouragement for others to stop in. I've been cafe jumping on a very rainy day in Auckland and was looking for somewhere to get some lunch and plan my next move (with free unlimited wifi!) This place has a good amount of seating for a small space (not cramped at all though) including some outdoor/street tables and some open window indoor seating. The vibe is quite hipster and casual with good music and lots of books and games if you are looking for some downtime. Out of 11 customers in here right now about half are reading books with coffee or lunch. Staff are very friendly and on the ball... Big props for that! I ordered a chicken, bacon, cheddar and avocado sandwich on 5 grain bread and it is sooo good (and only $10). It also came with a complimentary little side salad on the plate. Each slice of bread is about an inch thick so very filling too. I had a coffee shortly before coming here and so didn't want another but I feel like I will order one before I leave because I have a good feeling it's going to be very tasty! Main menu options: variety of coffee and teas. Salads, sandwiches and bagel options seem to be the bulk of the menu with an acai bowl, muesli, fruit salad and a few other options on there also. I'm definitely a big fan of this place and would absolutely recommend a visit. read more
I'm not too sure why I hadn't come here earlier but a day time excursion in the hunt of better coffee lead me to Remedy Coffee. The place is hipster as, op shop furniture, a book swap, board games, old comics and even an arcade game machine. A hole in the wall, strategic seating arrangements have been made to take advantage of of every square inch. Remedy Coffee is a cool place to just chill and yes, most importantly, the coffee is very good, consistently. The beans are their own blend of wonderful, super strong, you will feel the caffeine hit here. The place has a kitchen menu as well as cronuts, of course and freshly baked loaves and brioches for those who need something to go - now. The staff are exceptional, very friendly, it is one of the reasons I like coming here and these guys open early, 6:30, so it is the perfect place to go and wake yourself up before work or uni. Word is out that this place rocks, to top it off they sport some conscious consumer badges too, you'll find them on the door along with their Yelp sticker. Next time you check in, give them some love on Yelp. read more

Busy small quirky cafe with good food and a laid-back vibe. I went there at 10:30 on a Saturday and it was packed. I had to share one of the bigger tables with two other parties which wasn't that great. I don't mind sharing different ends of a table but having strangers eating their breakfast opposite me bothers me for some reason. That and the lack of any fresh juices on a place that does healthy food is the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars. The multigrain avocado mash toast with tomato slices, feta crumbs and fresh basil was absolutely amazing though and exactly what I needed to get rid of a small hangover. The two servers were very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you don't mind the close quarters or if you manage to go at a not-so-busy time. read more

I'd passed by Remedy lots of times before I tried it. I was in a hurry that day but I could see that it would be a great place in hang out in, perhaps that's why it seems to be a favourite with backpackers. The staff were friendly and the cafe has a really laid-back vibe which in rare in the inner city. Coolest of all, it holds a sizeable book-swap section, where customers can bring in books they've finished reading and swap them for a others, from a range of classics, best-sellers and even non-fiction (including lots of travel guides). Most importantly, the coffee was excellent. I'll definitely settle in for longer next time. read more
