When volunteering at "The Big Table" I overheard a couple on leadership say, "who is that" instead of introducing themselves and welcoming me. They help homeless people on a weekly basis but not someone who has been attending for months. Christ Jesus and the Scripture I read would not reject, betray, judge nor view disabled seniors as outcasts. Distant friends from another state are completely flabbergasted at the lack of assistance and acceptance Journey has provided to a child of God.

But the vision of the church became incredibly social justice minded. Many believe this is important in the role of the church. While I agree with this, I didn't feel the direction this church took was where I was meant to stay. Shortly thereafter we were called to move to a different state. Many people still there are my lifelong friends. You may find this place your home. But it's not the same place from the first review. Also: they own a building in Brentwood so now it's just Journey Church.

And the Bible says that the leader is always suppose to make himself available to the church body. And Pastor Darren Whitehead only makes himself available to people he favors or that are in leadership. Because I served there for over 10 years, and forced out by the police department for making a simple mistake of asking a federal Express driver to move the package container, on wheels to a different location, and a lady on the church staff named Bethany Moore literally yelled at me and told me to leave the church. And that I could no longer serve at the church any longer. And I served 52 Sunday's in a row in the year 2024 without missing 1 Sunday. And this is how I treat treated by the church, and pastor refuses to let me talk to him because I don't matter to him or anyone else. Just because that church looks great on the outside, does not mean it cares about or loves it people like they say they do. And just because it's located in Franklin, Tennessee, and it looks big on the outside, does not mean it is a caring church to it's people. And just because they are helping children find homes, does not mean that there hearts are loving and caring to the ENTIRE CHURCH BODY. I highly suggest that you really pray before you go to this church, and maybe one day some of you out there will understand where I am coming from in how I was treated there. Since the church will never admit to their mistakes, but God will hold the accountable on the day of judgement.

This is a progressive, diverse, and LGBTQ+ affirming congregation (approx. 40-50 folks by my estimate). If you lean traditional/conservative, GracePointe isn't likely to be your first choice. Conversely, if you lean left/progressive, you're likely to leave GracePointe finding it having been worth the visit!

The director is great with kids, the youth respect him, and he teaches them amazing skills. - There are lots of adult Sunday school classes, each with a different flavor, and each generally focused on a different age group of stage of life. Lots of choices is good. - The youth groups are very well managed and do a lot (trips, concerts, classes, etc.) - The facilities are great. The youth café is amazing. - This church supports the community in lots of ways, and there are many ways to get involved yourself. This is a really big church family, with six to seven thousand members. I've never attended a church this large, and I will say, it took me a little while to feel like a regular there. But as soon as I plugged in to smaller groups, I felt that sense of belonging. So this is now MY church, and it's been a great thing for me and my whole family.
