You can click onto quite a bargain at Devlins with their offcuts. They provide a free measuring up service, carry a lot of stock and tend to be able to fit quite quickly. The store used to be in an old converted petrol station which always looked a bit scruffy, when they moved to neare the canal it improved their appeal considerably. I have had an off cut of carpet edged here and made into a runner style mat for the hall. This means it matched the carpet and i got to choose the size so that it fits the space instead of making do. There are a number of machines for doing your own washing and the a number of dryers too. They have the dry cleaning service too and they also do things like hems on trousers and odd sewing things. The prices are quite reasonable for the selection of things they do in there. It is very hand for locals and is used quite a lot. With the location where it is there is a lot of passing traffic of cars and pedestrians.

By and large they were OK, although the service seemed to be a bit hit & miss: sometimes they were really quick and efficient at sorting out repair issues, other times things seemed to drag on and on. Their office staff were always great - really efficient, friendly and they knew their stuff. Julie who worked there was particularly on the ball - I'm not sure if she'd been there any longer than the rest of the staff, or if she was just really capable. Either way, if Julie was onto it then by and large you'd get your problem sorted. We never received many complaints about Butco - other than sometimes being slower off the mark than people would have liked, but that's just busyness for you, and you can't really blame a company for that!

They recently fitted a small part during a boiler service with no additional labour charges. Other companies had quoted 30 minutes of extra labour for the job which took only seconds.
