There is a huge number of vendors spanning from artwork to jewelry, décor, clothing, soaps, candles, gourmet foods, and more, as well as a load of local food vendors. There are also stages at either end of the 8 block fest with various musicians playing decently long sets throughout the day. You could even take a break from the festivities to sit outside at one of the many bars and restaurants on Washington and simply people-watch. It really is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon! I would recommend checking it out, but, if you are not based in the area, be sure to take the train or Path into town, as the station is right near the festival, and parking can be even more scarce than usual.

We initially came for the music, but a last minute decision to bring four kids with us meant we were now overruled by beings who couldn't sit still for live music. We managed to get two-and-a-half songs in from a Latin-style band with a female lead. There was plenty to see and do and EAT! This was the perfect location! The area had a good amount of small businesses, as well as the stuff we're all familiar with. A combination of these businesses and festival food filled our bellies, excessively...gluttonously. The vast choices of unique art, crafts, and jewelry allowed each kid to pick out something special for mommy for Mother's Day. But I couldn't find the Yelp booth!

Two floors in the centrally located Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea hosts about 80 fine art galleries from all over the world twice a year (Spring and Fall), making this fair the prime place to find affordable original fine art by both emerging and mid career artists. There are versions of this fair in various other cities in the US, Europe, and Asia, but I suspect NYC is the crown jewel. The fair opens on Wednesdays with a VIP and press preview, and then opens to the public at noon on Thursday and runs through Sunday. This is also a great place to meet the artists, as many of them are present with their dealers. Lots of affordable original art by hundreds of different artists and styles!!!

I'm familiar with the area however I didn't know that it could re-invent into an impressive event space. I attended a conference there today and I was moved. The event space was large, extremely accessible to public transportation, and the break out rooms were cozy for small teams. This large well lit space can easily convert from a children's museum to a night time fundraising event quickly. The book store has something for everyone.

Just like Cranford, I've also been to the fairs in Westfield ever since I was a kid. I've enjoyed…read morethe kid-friendly activities when I was much younger, but now I have to enjoy the event like an adult. The fairs in this town have never disappointed me, and it's still just as good as before. I also never had an issue with parking for the fair, which was a huge plus. This fair was located in the heart of downtown Westfield. Numerous tents set up by vendors were everywhere, selling various items from arts and crafts and sports memorabilia to home improvement and pet-sitting services. Non-profit organizations were also there to collect donations. A stage was also set up for local music performances and karate demonstrations. Let's not forget about the food vendors. Not only were there vendors in tents, but there were also those set up in their own food trucks. Various food items were sold at this event. Items such as gyros, fried Oreos, funnel cakes, and fried chicken were available from those vendors to the people who waited in long lines. Fresh squeezed lemonade and ICEEs were sold there too. The fact that I didn't smell oil used for frying from the vendors was a HUGE plus. Some businesses had also set up their own tents in front of their stores so they could sell some of their merchandise. That merchandise ranged from shoes to clothing. Nothing from there appealed to me, but it was nice to see what was on display. Those businesses picked a good day and time to set up an outdoor sale in front of their shops. How can you not love free samples? Bovella's Bake Shoppe was outside of their own store and gave away free samples of their cake. It was delicious! Also, 92.3 AMP FM was there and gave away free packets of FruitVines Bites Cherry-Flavored Candy. That was also good. Overall, these fairs are always as good as it gets!

I don't understand it... I walked to the second floor of a church. I see a small room with a few…read moredolls on the shelves. And I see a table at which a young woman is sitting with two children. "Is this the toy museum?" I ask. "Yes" she says. "How much is admission?" I ask. "Twenty dollars" she answers. I look around at the small selection of dolls and ask "There's more to it than this room, right?" "No" she answers "this is it." I left. Maybe there's something more to this museum I don't understand. But my impression was they're asking you to pay $20 to go in a room and see about as many dolls as you'd expect to see at a yard sale... Maybe there's something I don't understand. But based on my impression, I sure do not recommend you make a trip here.

I just love the streetfairs and flea markets and thrift shops....It's just the excitement of it all...I feel the adrenaline rush....All kinds of food...Indian, Mexican, Pizza, Smoothies...Fuits, Crepes.....I love antiques ... I love collecting old pieces of just about anything.... streetfairs are fun and its the same allmost everywhere....people looking for bargains...and haggling...is the word of the game in street fairs...very common...I know I am a good haggler....A friend of mine, a vendor from Hongkong taught me how...I was embarrased at first but I became good at it......there's no harm in trying....and the worst you get is a NO!!! I found 2 guys selling Estate Jewelries....Really nice items...Precious stones. Old timeless pins, rings , watches, pendants, brooches and earrings.. I must have bought almost half of what they were selling...for almost nothing and when I came home...I cleaned it all and with my microscope .....surprised to see that they are all Sterling silver and a few 14K gold rings...I have to look for these guys...and buy somemore of their stuff...I don't think they really know the value of their items...Clearview Festival Productions is New York City's largest Street festival and they have scheduled places to go to every weekend... Portobello Rd and Camden Markets is a MUST SEE when you are in London...a shoppers delight ...Fur Coats, all kinds, Fox... Sable.. Long and short hanging on the sidewalk...I found a cowhide leather satchel bag, Century Old Teacups, Old beattles records... and the pubs are all over......LeMarche Aux Puces de Saint Quen in Paris....The largest so far ...all of 6 hectars is s a very interesting flea market to visit too...Of course the food is Parisian and was surprise to see a lot of Indian food too....A Shoppers dream........Can't get enough of it.....

The Ross Terrace is basically a slate field with water jets that rocket H20 anywhere from 2 feet to 20 feet into the air. There is a little basin at the bottom of the slate field where smaller babies can easily hang out and splash. My kid loved it even at just 6 months old. While the museum likes donations, this has been a free feature to the public in the past; you don't have to buy a ticket to get in. TO GET INTO THE WATER PARK: enter on the west side of the building at Columbus Avenue & 79th St. You know you'll be at the correct entrance if you see a "Fortune Cookie" looking sculpture by the doors. You should see some stairs on your right. Pass them, and on the left is an elevator. Take the elevator up one floor, and you should see the windows leading you to the beautiful outdoor water park. Things to bring for your toddlers: bathing suits, swim diapers, towels, change of clothes, water shoes or shoes you don't care about, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, picnic foods and drinks.
