RENTAL INFO: Rented a 4-seater (2 forward/2 backward) for the week. $9200 MEX (roughly $460 USD). If you have more than two people and are renting long-term, I would suggest a 6-seater so more people can ride facing forward. It is the primary mode of transportation to get around the island. They provide a steering wheel lock that you definitely should use when parking your vehicle. When you rent one long term, they will tell you to come back every three days for gas (included). Pro tip: Always bring your most recent expired license to Mexico to leave with the golf cart company. That way, if they/you lose it, it's really not the end of the world. I'm not admitting that I may or may not have done that but it is a really good idea. Opens at 9am and closes at 7pm. If you are leaving Isla before 9am, you may need to drop off the cart the night before to get your drivers license (current or expired) returned. Just like ANY rental vehicle, I always suggest taking a before/after video of your vehicle to prove damages if it were to come back on you later. It's just smart!!! DRIVING INFO: As far as Isla Mujeres parking goes, you can park anywhere the curb is yellow. You cannot park anywhere the curb is red. Many of the roads have speed bumps marked by TOPAS signs. Look for them! I'm not admitting I locked up the brakes to slow down but trust me, you'll only make the mistake of going over one at full-speed a time or two before you really start paying attention. Not all of them are marked clearly. Some streets in the business district are one way. Pay attention. As I said above, I'm not admitting I may or may not have messed that up as well and got yelled at by a local señorita. Bottom line - Convenient to the ferry for drop off and pick up. Opens at 9AM. Closes at 7PM. Follow my driving tips. Do as I say, not as I did. read more

Our first time at Isla Mujeres so we didn't know what to expect. Renting a golf cart was a must to go around the island. When you get off the ferry, tons of folks will try to sway you to rent from them. We looked around and chose Rentadora Caribe. They gave us a discount and we got the cart at a good rate. After the end of the ride we headed straight for our ride back. The guy at the rental place followed us before we got in the boat. My wife forgot the passport she left for security. What can I say, excellent service. Highly recommend. read more

We rented a golf cart while on the island and were pleased with our experience. It was in good working condition with upfront pricing that was relatively inexpensive compared to two other companies that we spoke to. It is conveniently located across the street from the ferry so you can have a cart within minutes and the return process took less than 5 minutes as well. The pricing is posted on the wall. Keep in mind that is in pesos. USD is accepted as well. If you're using card there could be additional fees. Gas is included. Overall it was a good experience and I would rent from them again. read more

Was told by our tour guide to rent a cart from this place, BIG MISTAKE! Like huge MISTAKE!! Told us it was 500 Pesos but did not tell us that was for 2 hours only, we returned it 20 minutes past the two hours and then she says rudely that we owe 250 more Pesos I said no, there was no mention by you(her) that it was only a two hour rental, then two guys from the back go look at the cart and then tell us we damaged it, and it was going to cost more! I said no we did not damage it, then they took off with my drivers license for 10 mins until this other guy comes and looks at it, they knew we didn't damage it then said again 250 more I said no, finally after 10 minutes of arguing i needed to leave to catch my boat so I paid an extra 100 pesos and they gave me my drivers license back. If you rent from this company get it signed in paper work how long you're renting the cart for and take pictures of the cart and mark down any damage to the cart before you agree to rent a cart from them. Very rude and dishonest company. read more

At the isla mejeres we rented 3 golf carts for 10 people. It was awesome when we arrived, big smiles on our faces then all heck broke loose. One of them kept shutting off two blocks down the road from where we rented it so we turned around took it back. Another one the steering broke trying to do a u turn and the drive belt fell off. We couldn't take that one back so they came and found us. They wanted to keep our license and blamed the damage on us and wanted $200 American for repaires. Their are newer golf carts that can be rented out on the island and i suggest those. This ruined our whole trip to the island and wish we would of had the heads up. read more

This place is prolly the worst place to rent from. The carts a crappy. 2 out of the 3 carts we rented broke down on is within 10 minutes and then they blamed us for the damage. They then held our ID card and demanded 200 American dollars. We eventually paid the money so we could get our Id back but this was the worst experience of our trip. I'd recommend renting from another place. Felt like we were extorted!!!!! read more

Do not rent from the scammers. They give you broken golf carts. There are plenty of other places to rent from nearby that have nicer carts. Save yourself the hassle DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more
