No compassion what so ever. I work in customer service and would never treat my customers the way I was treated here. When I first got my unit the gate wouldn't work for the first few times, did I complain and tell them to give me my money back? No.... Sometimes being kind doesn't hurt.

Service here has always been pretty kind the few times that I've needed help, and they've always been super responsive if I need help getting payment links reset or changed. Parking lot here is a little on the small side but I've never been here when it's been crazy busy. They also have dollies to use which is always helpful for getting things to and from my car! Will definitely continue to give them my storage business as a result of years of positive experiences! It's a little farther than I would like, but it's easily accessible when I'm on my way up to Seattle anyways, so I make it work.

For the first several years, things were fine -- mostly because of Nicole, the former manager who actually cared and knew what she was doing. I also had 24-hour access, which was essential for me because I store expensive tools I use for work. I got this unit specifically because of that 24/7 access. But once Nicole left, everything went downhill -- fast. Suddenly my on-time payments weren't being recognized, and I started getting flooded with emails and calls claiming I hadn't paid. Totally false. Then came the spotty access. Sometimes I'd get off work and be locked out of my unit for no reason (code wouldn't work). For someone who depends on secure, reliable access -- this was a nightmare. I had always paid at the end of the pay cycle -- and Nicole never had an issue with that. But after years of doing things the same way, I decided to adjust my payment date to avoid the drama. I even paid extra to cover the shift in date. What happened? I showed up, and my unit was locked. To top it off, the new guy working there had a major attitude problem. Didn't explain anything, didn't apologize -- just walked over, unlocked my unit in silence, and walked away like I was the problem. For the last 2.5 years, it's been pure chaos. Constant employee turnover, staff who don't know what they're doing, and a total lack of customer service. It's like they're running a revolving door operation over there. I've since moved to a much better storage facility -- indoors, cleaner, more professional, and half the price. I should have left years ago. Until Storage One at Benson gets its act together and starts hiring competent, respectful staff, do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. If you value peace of mind, reliability, and decent customer service, this is NOT the place for you.

Bobby the owner was welcoming, attentive, and held boundaries for the space well. My unit was located near a door I could load in from so that was awesome. Overall my items were safe, kept dry and scent free. No security issues which is important for me. The location of this storage facility is unique as it's located on a hill near a bus stop, so loading from a wheeled cart into your car can be a challenge if you park in the hill spots. The movers had no problems though with their hand trucks, so it's not a huge deal but worth mentioning. There are a few level spots you can park in to avoid this. I would definitely store here again knowing that all is safe and and secure here and Bobby really made it a pleasant friendly experience!

I got a good storage for a great price and was able to move my stuff in the same day. I like how it looks small on the outside but the place is quite huge actually. I rented a unit at 1st Ave Storage for close to 20 years, and management used to be great there (I…read morebelieve Emmet(?) was the longtime manager there, but he left a few years ago). I just recently moved out, as things have gotten shadier and shadier around there. The security/safety around the building has become questionable, especially with the RV camp out back. With that said--the worst part, frankly, is the owner. Charlie is his name, and he basically refused the pro-rated refund that 3 people working at his facility ALL said I would receive. I did a speedy move out April 16, as the manager there told me I could get the pro-rated refund if I cleared my unit out asap, rather than wait until end of month. Great! Sadly, I never received the refund, and even thought the 3 different employees told me I should get it--Charlie apparently refused to follow through, telling his manager "we don't pro-rate". But... all 3 of your employees told me you do...!? When I asked to have Charlie call me directly, I was told Charlie said: "I don't talk to customers directly." I explained I would warn people on Yelp if Charlie doesn't bother calling me back, and his reply (through his employee, since he doesn't talk to customers): Fine, post on Yelp. Additionally, when I rented a U-Haul from them, the gas tank was not even filled. Apparently owner Charlie keeps just a quarter tank in there, claiming it's due to the RV camp stealing gas. But... he will penalize truck renters if they don't return the truck at exactly the maybe kinda quarter-ish level the tank had. Makes it real hard for truck renters to fill up ONLY the amount they use. Hmmm... SO... Be warned. Charlie the owner does not follow through, and frankly does not step up when he should. I moved to another storage facility that provided better rates in a more convenient location... and a safer location. I didn't realize perhaps the best benefit to moving: not supporting a shady owner. I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 because of the years of good service I had when previous management was great, the place was more secure, and shady business practices didn't impact me. I guess owner Charlie's integrity was lost in parallel with the decline of the community around there :-\ Buyer beware--think twice before using 1st Ave Storage.
