In my last minute panic for a new outfit to wear on New Years Eve, I headed into one of the clothing shops that seemed less busy - Republic. Perhaps it was a momentary lull, as the shop seemed to get busier as I browsed. Sale prices were quite good - in women's fashions, several items were on 2 for £30, or 2 for £45. Jeans on the sale racks were between £20 - £25, and the regular priced tops and dresses in between were mostly under £50.
By the time I reached the change room, there was a fifteen minute queue. Yikes. I noticed, in my standstill, that men's clothing was at slightly less of a reduction - 2 for £50, and that much of the jewellery was on sale for £2. However, the big fake-diamond look wasn't really for me.
So, I didn't find anything suitable in Republic, which is probably for the best since the queue for the cashier was longer than the one for the fitting room. read more
