So I when I cancelled my service and by the way my new renters are continuing the service I was informed that I would have to call back to make sure that that they didn't pick up trash cans and charge me. I asked if that would be done and was told that if I didn't call back and make sure that they would probably pick up the cans and charge me. I was then told I would have to deactivate my account myself or I would probably be charged and was also told that they never delete your info just " deactivate" since it is a rental is fine but I don't think they should keep everyone's info. If I could leave zero stars I would. I have 6 paper yard bags that have not been picked up in 2 weeks. When I called yesterday I was first told that this has to be scheduled separately, despite what the website says. When I asked to speak to a manager the manager apologized and said this would be taken care of in 24 hours. It was not so I called again and was told another manager would call me. That has not happened. After two weeks the bags are soggy from rain. It's going to snow tomorrow so it looks like I'm going to have to shovel these leaves off the street at the end of my driveway after the snow. I wish there were a choice of providers, so I could choose a different provider. Follow up - Republic I emailed you as requested in your reply to me. I've called two times today. Soggy bags are still sitting at the end of my driveway. Republic users - FYI if you are experiencing anything similar apparently you have to say your pick up was "missed" and insist the customer care team doesn't just put this in notes. Horrible experience. Went online and ordered service and a bin. We paid in advance and our card was charged almost $300. On the day the bin was supposed to arrive, we called as it did not arrive. We first were told other business were listed at our location. That happens in a business park. They had no record of our order and after 47 minutes said we should have called, and not used website. We were promised a call in 24 hours, which did not happen. Good advice in calling (87 minutes on the phone), but we'll take it one step further and not use them at all. We have asked for a refund, but based on the "service" we'll just dispute the charge with Amex. The parent company has responded below, asking to make it right. When I ordered the service and bin on January 8th, and it did not arrive, I called on Jan. 14th. Your team "promised" to make it right. 47 minutes on the phone yesterday and 40 today. 5 minutes to get good service and delivery from WM, at a better price. Their poor rating says it all. read more

I'd give negative stars if it was an option. Their billing department is a nightmare. Their office staff are rude and their trash pick up people are incompetent. Like how they block an entire lane of a street by leaving containers everywhere. At least they're upright this time. Half the time they are in their side thrown everywhere in the street. I don't like being mean and especially not on a Friday. My recycling pickup was missed last Thursday. I called on Monday to report. The agent said someone would be out Monday or Tuesday. No one showed so I called back on Wednesday. The agent said someone would be out Wednesday or Thursday. No one showed so I called back on Friday. (No, sadly I'm not making this up.) I spoke with a supposed "manager" named Courtney who was incompetent and failed to help me at all. Still couldn't guarantee a pick up nor could she guarantee that someone could even call me back today to get this resolved. This is pathetic. What do I have to do to actually get this company to do what I pay them to do? read more

Gave them 6 weeks to make a residential trash pickup on schedule. They never lived up to our deal, not once. Nice people in customer service, poor driver(s). I'd guess he/she knew there would be zero repercussions from the teamsters union, so they could completely disregard a paying customer. This is where you take your extra trash. They have recycling bins out front, but you have to have that separated and has to be all proper stuff: cardboard, cans, bottles, etc. For the rest of your trash, and that means just about everything you can imagine, including construction waste from your DIY project, it goes into the dump area. When you arrive you pull your truck up on the scale where the big trucks go, very exciting, and go inside to pick up your hard hat and vest. They are very serious about this. Then you take your truck off the scale drive around the corner and go to the bin area that they will give you a number for, but you will find that the first three bays are numbered and the test are, well... not numbered. Very inconvenient and disconcerting, considering you're wearing a hard hat now and a vest and there are large trucks driving all around the place. Now you're in the back of your truck and dragging all the trash out onto the ground in front of the pile that's already there, and within a few minutes, you're out of there. Then drive back around to the scale, weigh out and pay a fee based on the amount of trash you brought in, measured by the ton. I had about 8/10 of a ton and that cost me 60 bucks all together. It was actually more than I had hoped to pay, but way less than getting someone to come out and haul it away. All in all, an interesting experience and cheaper than other options for your extra trash. Not exactly a walk in the park though. read more

I have been a customer with them for 6 years. we found a new house and had our services transferred. it's been going on 10 weeks now of missed pick ups and no recoveries. I've escalated issues, spot with every department, 3 managers, customer relations and the issue continues. I was eventually told we don't have a priority route if some issue arises or someone calls off. I'm not the only one in Brownsburg dealing with this as its now on the local community page. read more

We just moved to Indiana from out of state where before we dealt with Waste Management (they are awesome). Republic is not. There's two things I have a huge problem with; 1 they won't pick up your trash if the lid isn't totally shut. Really? Never heard of this before. Where I moved from you could have it all the way open and trash piled high they would take it. My lid was cracked 6" and the guy drove on by. No discretion there for your drivers Republic? 2 they change their schedule and I was never told. Call in and their customer service is on par with Comcast "not my job, I don't care." In the past 30 days Republic Services has missed our pick up date. Each time I have been told they will be out the next day to pick up the trash or recycle bin. On each occasion, it has taken multiple calls over several days to get the trash picked up. On one occasion the trash sat by the curb for the entire week before they picked it up on the normal pick up day. Republic services is contracted by our city for trash pick up and they are not responsive to the individual customer because they are secure with their city contract. If it were my choice I would never hire a republic services for trash removal. Before our city contracted for trash removal are used Best Way and Ray's trash, They were much better services, reliable and responsive. It's unfortunate I have to give them a one star rating. read more

They actually close at 4. I really wish another facility would have later hours. The only landfill you can go to after 5 is the one located on Kentucky Ave which is crazy!! read more

My first trip to a dump, and the employees were extremely helpful, respectful and pleasant to deal with. $56 for a huge truckload of trash disposal seems like a good deal to me. Also, it was very cool watching the conveyor turn masses of trash into compact cubes. read more

Although I was not happy with Republic Services when they decided to pull all of their recycling bins from recycle center locations around the city, I can understand why they did it. Many of those locations were becoming dumping grounds for everything except what qualified as recyclable material. Lazy Hoosiers also have some type of problem with actually putting cardboard in the appropriate recycling containers when it is a self-service center. A lot of it ended up in ditches and flung around the parking lot and green spaces. At the Walmart on 86th and Michigan, there were dozens of flattened boxes flying around the parking lot winding up in the creek/drainage ditch behind the self serve recycle center. Now the littering is not totally Republic's fault, but there is some responsibility to bear when the rather small bins that they provided became very, very full that you physically cannot get anything in there. Lugging the cardboard from your vehicle into the fairly high openings that are not easy for one person to open is not exactly a way to encourage people to do the right thing. No excuses for the lazy though. [Soapbox] It's unfortunate that we pay for recycling in this state when we face a crisis of all of our landfills being over capacity in the next seven to ten years. It's time to stop burying our problems and start addressing them. There is no way on this earth that the citizens should be paying to recycle when the companies that collect this material make crazy money on the raw goods. Especially considering that when energy prices go up (like now), the demand for recycled raw material skyrockets, we lazy Hoosiers should be getting paid from the refuse collection companies for the privilege of collecting our raw material. If we got paid to recycle (even just a few dollars a month), the efforts would be astounding, considering that Midwesterners tend to double their counterparts in other countries when it comes to volume of consumerism and our low cost of living makes those few dollars stretch even farther. [/soapbox] Now to the actual center itself near 96th Street. It is a collection area for all of Republic Services recycling programs (at least on the north side). The drive into the place is tricky if you miss Robison Road, that crawls alongside I-465 on the south side from 96th Street. The place is just at the end of the paved part of the road before Tiffany's Lawn and Garden and their mulch mountains. The drive from is short and you do not have to go all the way to the actual recycling building that have refuse collection trucks pulling in and out all day. There are two (used to be just one) large blue bins with openings big enough for appliance boxes (flattened of course) at arm level. These bins are super convenient and makes me wonder why Republic never used these large bins in the original center. They would not have to pick up as often and they would get more material per trip. Again, a half-arsed effort but I digress. I usually make the trip up here once a month, and fortunately, or unfortunately (depending on perspective), I have never been in a line. This may be due to lack of trees in this area. The wind in the winter and the dust in the summer make you not want to stick around this not so picturesque environment. As a place to take all your cardboard, it is easy and open six days a week. read more
