Very poor administrative and accounting practices! I cancelled my service and had to pay extra to have them come pick my trash can up. They didn't pick up my trash can for 1 month and continued to charge me for their services. They refunded the trash can fee but insisted on still charging for another months service. They are now sending my bill to collections. I would never use this company ever again for lack of accountability and just plain common sense. read more

Had service with them for 4 weeks before I canceled. 2 missed pick ups and 2 missed rescheduled pick ups. Spent hours on the phone contacting them to pick up my trash. Don't waste your time. Can't recommend anything good about this company read more

Pretty disappointed in Montana. First we FULLY understand many industries are struggling with staffing and this rating has ZERO to do with the actual employees as they do the best they can with what they're given by corporate. (Which seems to be where the problem starts). After having our collection service canceled twice in one month due to "staffing shortages" I hope the money they're saving with these vacancies in positions they're able to put back into recruitment and retainment. When I called regarding cancellation of our services they asked why and I simply told them we found the same service for considerably less and they're able to provide what we paid for. The response was again from a 888 number not local was a little surprising. " well let us see what we can do to lower your rate" really? So you've overcharged me for the last 10 years and suddenly you can lower your rate although you don't even have drivers to pick up the cans or people in the office to answer the phones which maybe should be paying more to retain and provide the services you need to keep customers happy at a reasonable rate? Proud to say we switched to L&L a local sanitation contractor who answered the phone with a live person within 2 rings and happily came in much cheaper and delivered a can the next day. (Ps republic is unable to pick up our old cans we don't want for another 2 weeks... it's ok the one will probably still be full. Neighbors after a talking with a few are joining our move to better service at a cheaper rate. read more

This company has the worst client service of any entity we deal with. They have missed curbside pickups multiple times, promise to send a truck by the next day to rectify the problem but never do. You call their support number and each time the rep indicates you are "on the schedule for the next day". Never happens and I honestly believe that is their standard line regardless of whether it's true or not. Total joke and waste of time dealing with these clowns. I recently forgot to put my garbage out so it could be picked up early in the morning. My mother was having surgery so that was on my mind. I wheeled it just across to the neighbor's house (who I have a good relationship with) as their garbage had not been picked up yet. My can could clearly be seen but the garbage man ignored it and went on his way. If I could I would switch services. They are rigid and uncaring in my opinion. No leeway whatsoever. But I really don't think they care about the bad reviews they've gotten here. They seem to have it "in the bag" if you get my drift. read more

I really want to give them 5 stars - but I can't - I had to talk to 5.......yes 5 people and it still did not get resolved. So much for the consortium... I will stay with the LOCAL trash service L&L - they get things right the first time around. read more

This company has the worst sevice I have experienced in a very long time. They never emptied the can fully and sometimes threw bags on my lawn. I would recommend the city of Bozeman trash service they are very good at customer service and provide better deals. read more

Shocker that the company that picks up garbage is GARBAGE. I get that it's our "fault" for not having our trash out and the route changed so he came earlier. But we were literally in and out of the house getting packed up to go camping. So rather than taking two minutes to just holler at us, the driver TAKES A PICTURE to prove our trash can was still next to our garage. What a world to live in these days- no one lends a hand anymore, no one goes out of their way unless there's something in it for them, people watch as elderly struggle to open doors, and the garbage truck driver who waves to my 3 year old son every week and sees me holding a 3 month old can't just literally honk a damn horn to say "hey, I'm here early!" Sadly it's probably company protocol, but that's why you don't work for or support companies who's values don't mimic their actions. read more

The Recycling arm of this company has been a tad problematic! We have had very similar issues with scheduling and this strong cleanser odor . However , we have been in contact with customer service and they are addressing the issues mentioned . This includes the crazy odor from the bin and scheduling confusion. I just started using this service and they continually forget to add me onto the route. When I call to schedule another pick up time the employees are rude and question that I am even telling the truth. Unbelievable these people can stay in business with these practices. read more

Pay $185/month for these guys to come clear my 6ft dumpster once a week... Twice in the last two months they just didn't come. No notice, no call after, just flat out didn't show up. So I had to call, the lady said they would come the next day... No one showed up again! Think I might try L & L, don't feel like I'm being taken care of as a customer here. read more

This company is horrible to do business with! Check your bill - they charge almost three times as much as the City (if you're in city limits) and twice as much as their local competitor. They routinely miss pick-ups and won't come back, they charge for delivery and pickup of your cans (the others don't) and they charge $19 for overfill fess if your can lid is open even one inch when they pick up. read more

Started BAD, got WORSE, ended OUTRAGEOUSLY 1. When I set up an account they delivered a filthy bin that smelled of some toxic chemical. It was so awful I could not even keep the bin in my garage or the smell permeated into the whole garage and house. I was actually worried that whatever the toxin was could be damaging to the health of anyone who breathed it in, it was that bad. When I contacted customer service to report it and request a clean bin the woman suggested that I should just "use a hose and wash it" myself. I let them know if they didn't get a new bin delivered I would cancel service and go with another company. Three weeks later I eventually got a clean bin, but only with several follow up phone calls on my part. 2. Fast forward and mid summer I got a bill for services that was over 3x $$ of my previous bills. Called customer service and they said "yup we raised prices on recycling due to levels of contamination" which she said meant people were putting things in the recycling that were not recyclable. NO notices prior, NO requests for whoever was doing this to do different, and NO notice of price changes if it wasn't resolve. So, I was stuck with a bill for services that was outside of the agreed upon rate without any recourse. They refused to adjust it down to my prior rate. Final straw. I canceled services right then and there and settled my final bill that arrived after the bins were picked up. 3. 4 months later I get a collections notice saying my final bill wasn't paid. I have perfect credit and pay all my bills on time. Despite no documentation to reflect their bill, it was demanded that I pay the $22 or go to collections. Begrudgingly paid this unknown debt and hopefully am done with this company FOREVER FINAL NOTE: I switched to City of Bozeman for both trash and recycling. Not one problem ever. Bills and services all as expected and great customer service when I call for any need. And they are less expensive!! I don't know how Republic is even in business! read more

As of 7/13/2017, I've been TRYING to reach Republic in Bozeman, Montana by phone at 406-586-0606 for a week. Ten days ago, I ordered three sets of the bags they provide (for households that generate only small volumes of garbage, the bags are a useful alternative to the wheeled trash barrels), to be delivered by their driver on his/her usual rounds. But the bags didn't show up on my doorstep last week nor today. After they didn't arrive last week, I tried phoning on Monday and Tuesday of this week, and I tried again today. By now I've waited through their godawful "music" and recorded sales pitch (which repeats on an about 30-seconds cycle) at least an hour, cumulatively without ever hearing a live voice. If they can't staff their office, they should change their phone greeting to reflect this fact. At least they haven't charged my credit card. So far. read more

Worst customer service ever. After much back & forth, I finally closed my account. It has been over four months now & they have yet to issue my refund. If you do end up talking to the Missoula branch, they are MUCH more helpful, nice, and apologetic. read more
