After over 25 years with Republic they suddenly can't service me because their current drivers are unable to back down my road leaving me with 2 weeks of garbage during Christmas week and no pichup until they send a smaller truck on Saturday. I recognize that my situation is difficult, but have heard no complaints over the past 25+ yrs and they have been more than ready to receive my payments. I have been told I have to cancel my service because of a rule change for their drivers, but it would have been nice if someone had contacted me and given me time to react. They did manage to get my bill to me though in a timely manner. Needless to say I am very angry and disappointed and will never recommend them to any friends or relatives. I just wanted to thank Republic Services for literally NEVER doing what their customer service says they will do. My family and I have lived in Chelmsford for only 5 weeks now and I've already had to call them for 3 missed weekly services and 2 missed large item pickups. Their customer service center is GREAT, however not one time have they followed through with their promises. Here's the funny part... the biggest issue we have is with our recycling pickup. Chelmsford is pushing for 30%+ recycling compared to garbage. It's pretty darn difficult to reach that goal as a community if Republic Services is leaving the services parts out. This company is an absolute joke ! The town I live in contracted them to do weekly trash/recycle collection and they constantly "miss" pick ups ! And when we are "fortunate" to our barrels emptied the streets are littered with trash after. Because the drivers just fly through and let the barrel fully empty before they just throw the barrel back. Trash flying out everywhere !! And the drivers don't get out for any reason at all. Repeated, numerous calls to customer service with their empty apologies have yielded nothing. Consistently missed pick ups and only sometimes informed us. I understand we moved to our new house (that already had Republic bins, so we just went with it) pretty much at the beginning of a pandemic, but after a few months of aggravatingly spotty services, our neighbours informed us that they have always been unreliable, and that's why nearly no one else uses them. The last straw was that they didn't have a pickup scheduled for our recycling for a MONTH and didn't say anything until I called. Now, they picked up our bins today, but did not pick up the extra recycling as stated when I called to cancel our service, so I have two large, soggy boxes FULL just sitting on the sidewalk. I am not impressed with Republic. On Monday I called to schedule a pick up of a bulk item. I was told it would be picked up Tuesday. They never showed up. I called again on Wednesday. Was told they didn't know what happened but the item would be picked up Thursday. Guess what, they never showed up and the item is still sitting at the end of my driveway. Very poor service. I just moved to Chelmsford and the man who collects the trash is never in a good mood. Today I went to collect my trash bin and I couldn't even figure out which bin was mine because he threw them all around. As he was leaving I asked him which bin was closest to the white car when he got here and he proceeded to yell at me that I should know my own trash can and aggressively threw two trash cans towards me. They miss pick ups. When u call to reschedule they claiM the "put you on the schedule" to come out and of course, they are a no show. They don't have clarity surrounding what the pick up schedule in certain areas are so that right there is a huge concern. Four missed pick ups over the past couple months for my recycling, and every time I call they try to gaslight me into believing that I'm either not putting my bin out on time or I have the wrong week. Every time it's an entire morning spent on the phone telling their customer service that according to the calendar from the town of Tewksbury, I do have the right week and I have a camera in the front of our driveway that can prove we put it out on time. They do not seem to have a copy of the town calendar for reference. Every time it's an argument with them to find out why this keeps happening every other week or so. Then they transfer me to the local dispatcher who can't be bothered. Terrible customer service all around. I am more than fed up with Republic's terrible service in Pepperell. They have missed pickup at my house 13 times this year already, and the last two weeks in a row. I have called and submitted multiple online requests for a missed pickup, and each time I am promised it will be collected the next day. My trash cans have been at the end of my driveway since Nov 4th (today is the 13th), and they still have not been collected. I was a long-time residential customer of Republic Services in Sudbury, MA (15 years). I feel like they have deceptive pricing practices. Over the last couple of years, they started raising their prices significantly without any real warning. They include a bunch nonsense fees, like administration and fuel recovery. By the time you get their crazy excessive bill, you are already in the service period and obligated to pay it. The real kicker was when I canceled my service with them. I spoke with four different Republic Services reps and none of them mentioned a fee for them to remove their trash container from my property. Without any forewarning, they billed me $60 to take away their own container! The $60 included $20 for fuel recovery and $6 for administration. If you have Republic Services or are considering them, look around, save yourself a lot of money, there are better options. read more

Not sure which one services the Haverhill MA area, but seeing as someone needs to contact me to resolve this issue, all three locations are getting 1 star. According to the City of Haverhill Massachusetts dumpster regulations, no dumpsters in a residential area is allowed to be emptied before 7am. Republic services is consistently picking up anywhere between 3:30 am (which is most frequent) and 6am. Why on earth would a company believe it is acceptable to pick up a metal dumpster, using hydraulic lifts at that time of day in a residential area? I have video evidence and when I was about to go outside to speak with one of them, another resident in my building was already out there asking them the same questions. It is against the cities code of conduct. I want to sleep, and not be woken up more then three times a week by my building's dumpster being emptied. Their pick ups last over 10 minutes each as well. Even with windows shut, it is waking up the majority of the residents who face the parking lot where the dumpsters are located. This needs to be resolved as it is impeding on mine and other people's quality of life. I want this matter resolved as soon as possible, with pick ups happening after 7am. I wish I could give zero stars. I signed up with Republic as a new homeowner. They did not deliver our receptacles for close to two weeks, and I had to call every time I was due for service because they never came to do the pickup. I probably called 10 times in three weeks just to get the basic services that I had been paying for already. When I called to cancel I also had an unexplained $80 charge on my account. Departments within the company could not effectively communicate with one another and there was a lot of confusion about the local company versus the national parent company on each phone call. We moved in to a Groton MA residence 6/16 and chose Republic because we have a trash compactor so more recycling than trash. Their price seemed the best too. So far- the customer service people have been super helpful and pleasant. i asked them if they could come a week earlier at the last minute and they said " no problem- we will contact driver". I have gone to the transfer station in Pepperell for about 30 years. I decided to try trash and recycling pick up. My son in law called around and found the best price for me from Republic, I called them within 15 minutes of my son in law calling and getting a price. They quoted me a much higher price when I explained that my son in law was just quoted a lower price for my location they gave me a lower price but still not the price they gave him.. It took several weeks for them to bring the trash and recycling bins out. Then I got my bill and the price was much higher than quoted. I emailed them and waited for a reply before paying the bill. I got another one saying they suspended my service, which I didn't understand because I was waiting for them to respond to me. I called to discuss my bill and service and they said they were not going to honor the price I was quoted that I had two choices...they could come pick up the barrels or I could pay the higher price. I told them to come get the barrels but that they were full. I also asked to have a manager call me, I left my number. They haven't come and I didn't get a call back. I hear from people in town that Shaws is great for service and pricing. I'm really disappointed in Republic in their customer service on the phone & email and their in person barrel drop off and collection. read more

We started using Republic Services for trash in November 2019. All was good until 12/3/21 pick up was missed. We called customer service on 12/3 and were told it would be picked up in a couple of days. We left our barrels on the street and on Monday 12/6 when I got home from work barrels were still full, called customer service and they promised to pu on Tuesday 12/7 AM. Looked at barrels from work on cameras at noon and barrels still full. Called again and promised pu by end of day. Got home at 6 PM and barrels still full. Called Wednesday 12/8 and had to be very stern to get a manager who personally promised to call me with a firm pu date, when I requested her phone# I was told she didn't have a direct line but she gave me her email and again promised to call me with a firm pu date. By Thursday no call or empty barrels.. I emailed her requesting cancelation of service,, I requested a read receipt and email was read within 10 minutes of being sent. It is now 8 Pm Thursday 12/9 and no email response and yes barrels are still full.. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER DUE TO REPEATED LIES. SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF UNNECCESARY AGGRAVATION CHOSE ANOTHER TRASH SERVICE. ALSO YOU PAY UPFRONT QUARTLY AND IF YOU CANCELL BEFORE END OF QUARTER THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY. I currently have recycle and trash bins at the end of my driveway that have been there going on 3 weeks and prior to this they missed 3 pick ups within 30 days. We have called them on a daily basis and have been told "we will have a truck there tomorrow" and "I've escalated this and a manger will be calling you back" and "we will credit your account" and I could go on and none of these happened...no trash pick up, no call back and no credit because you pay in advance for the service so how does that benefit? I don't know if they are under new management or have been hit hard by COVID, but their customer service is terrible. In the past if there was bad weather or a holiday you would get an automated message advising of a delay in service and we have not even received that, nor is there is notification posted on their website. I am done wasting my time calling them and I would not recommend their service at all. I know I'm not the only disappointed customer because up and down the streets of my neighborhood there are many overflowing, snow covered blue Republic bins at the edge of the road waiting to be emptied. read more

I have called 3 times this week because the driver drove right by our trash barrel on Monday and did not stop. Three different people apologized and promised me pick up service the next day and took my phone number so that a manager could call me to apologize. A trash truck drove by last evening. We thought he was turning around to swing by and pick up the trash, as promised. He didn't. He just kept right on going! It's Thursday and my trash still has not been picked up! But staff are very well trained in giving customers lip service!! I reported this to my local board of health but guess what? They didn't return my call either! And, with my trash barrel sitting on the curb full of last week's trash, THIS week's trash is collecting in my garage! And, if I put it out on Monday, next to the full trash can, it won't be picked up because it's not in a container!! Republic Services, you suck! And I expect you to make this right! read more

I received a voicemail today while I was in a meeting at work that their driver moved my dumpster to the bottom of my driveway "for the winter". Not only did he not need to because my driveway was completely clear and dry, but he put it in a spot that's going to get me evicted from my house. I called the rotten old woman who left the message today around noon or so and asked to have it put back. I got home and I CANNOT believe that idiot driver put it where he did. It's right where the town plows all the snow from the end of the street!!! I called the old bitty again at 3:30 and asked to have it moved right away. She told me Tuesday- TUESDAY???? I called her again and said someone needs to come today and she said everyone was home and no one would come. Then she supposedly called her boss who gave the ok to MAYBE come move it back on Monday. Called customer service for the company and they sent me back to the same office that refuses to come fix this mess. I am finding a new waste company for my house and also my company.
