When I mentioned to the staff this wasn't our first time, they lit up, and our server sent over a shot of port on the house as a thank you. That kind of warmth sets the tone for the whole meal.
The food is genuinely excellent and inventive without being precious about it. We shared a cheese board with honey, beef tartare with tartare sauce and squid ink crisp, tuna tartare with lime mayo and chili, fried potatoes with aioli and salsa brava, and a cauliflower dish done two ways -- puréed and grilled with ponzu marinade and garlic purée. Every dish had real thought behind it, plates that looked as good as they tasted.
The cocktails matched the ambition of the food -- I had a smoked peach drink, my friend had a honey concoction, both well-balanced and interesting rather than gimmicky.
Great spot in one of Lisbon's more fun, lively neighborhoods. Highly recommend, and I'll be back again whenever I'm in town.
