I've given Rescate a try several times because it is the closest coffee shop to me, and I wanted to support a local business. The interior cozy environment is wonderful, but the drinks itself are lacking for me. As someone who enjoys visiting many different coffee shops, I really wanted to like Rescate. However, all of the drinks are way too sweet in a way that is not enjoyable. I've tried multiple different drinks on the meny, and the only one that was tolerable was the regular latte. Unfortunately, the rest were overwhelmingly sweet, and I'd rather be able to taste the strong coffee flavor and the creaminess of the drink. However, that was lacking. read more

Very cozy coffee shop in the heart of Elk Grove. It was pretty busy during a Saturday morning, but there was enough seating (inside and outside). I especially liked their honey bee specialty coffee, which was recommended by one of the baristas. It wasn't sweet at all, which I really liked. The Zoot Suit and the Xocolatl Cereza are two of the best cafés I've had in Elk Grove, nay Sacramento. The sweet is balanced perfectly with the café. But it's not overly sweet like other coffee brands. The service was fast. A great little café in the neighborhood to start the day. On some Sundays I've seen car shows in the parking lot. I'm not in this part of the Elk Grove that much, but when I do I like to stop here and grab coffee or breakfast. I love their scones and croissants. I came on a late Saturday morning and the special croissants are sold out. Since I had coffee already, I only got pastries. I usually get their iced vietnamese coffee or any specials. I visited this coffee shop today for the first time and I was all ready for a good experience after reading reviews. There is adequate parking, it is conveniently located, the three young guys working there were acting unprofessionally, talking & laughing loudly to each other, the store was closing early because of "the game", there was almost no food to order for lunch but an old looking muffin, the music playing had offensive, inappropriate lyrics which I did not appreciate at all, but the coffee was good, and the WiFi worked. read more

Used to be one of my favorites but sadly, I feel like it's not what it used to be. The staff is amazing and really easy to talk to which is good for someone with anxiety. There's nothing bad about their coffee or bakery items, everything's delicious! The reason I gave it a three star review instead of a five is because every time I ordered a breakfast sandwich, they would forget it. The coffee is good, the pastries are fresh, nice & friendly younger staff, they support local non-profits through fundraising, and support the LGBTQ community all really great things; HOWEVER, I've been there enough times to notice how rude, judgmental, and petty the OWNER is. He makes fun of people who order custom drinks, "oh the LIGHT ice", "oh so actually want a latte" and once when we accidentally ordered a hot drink instead of an iced drink, he was rude and did not offer to fix it. Do not attempt to try to pull one over to get more bang for your buck because he will not allow. I've seen him be petty and add a tiny bit of milk bc someone ordered "light milk" For this reason alone, I want to give 2 stars. Beware of who you're supporting! read more

Introduced to Rescate Coffee by a friend who lives nearby, tried their Mayan mocha years ago and been hooked ever since. They have the friendliest staff and the owners are so nice. This recent visit brought me into try their seasonal February special: strawberry white mocha. They also have a strawberry mocha. The latte has the usual espresso, your milk of choice, strawberry syrup, floated with whipped cream & a fresh strawberry sits on top! I tried mine iced and got the strawberry white mocha. It's sweet but not too intensely. It was my first time trying their February special and can't believe I've been missing out all this time! Met some friends here to do quarterly planning, vision boarding, and goals together. We stayed for several hours and really enjoyed the ambiance! It wasn't too crowded and the coffee was delicious. All of the staff we interacted with were super friendly. For example, one of my friends asked if they could do latte art for her and the cashier gladly grabbed the barista who had that skill and did the special request for her! That's honestly top notch service. We also ordered several different drinks and pastries throughout our visit, including some seasonal flavors, and they were all really nicely balanced. Ok so I just got out of this place. I was just going get a latte but they had some good looking treats in their display rack, I figured I give one a try. I decided on the cranberry nut muffin. When I placed my order the person grabbed the muffin from the bottom rack not even displayed. That made me suspicious, when I took the muffin to my table, it looked like yesterday muffin and not fresh. You know how old muffins get sticky and sticks to your hand when you eat them, fresh one don't stick. Don't get me wrong it still tasted good, but cmon bottom rack. Yum! I've been on a coffee kick lately... so I swung by Rescate for the first time. It was fairly early when I came in so it wasn't busy. The inside gave off a very cozy feeling, I'm sure it would be relaxing to work on a few things in the cafe. The s'mores caught my eye so I wanted to give a shot. Service was extremely quick, it took about a minute and I was already handed my coffee. The s'mores had a very forward marshmallow flavor, which was exactly what I was looking for. Food: lemon white chocolate cookie was delicious. It was a big cookie with a soft center, crispy edges. The lemon flavor mixed with the sweetness of the white chocolate was heavenly. Snickerdoodle latte: the espresso was smooth, the cinnamon brought out the richness in the espresso, the vanilla added a touch of sweetness without being overly sweet and the creaminess of the milk was perfection. Ambiance was chill, great place to sit and chat with friends, get some work done or just enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while enjoying some Latin hits. I guess I haven't reviewed Rescate since they first opened up 7 years ago, and they definitely deserve another 5 stars! We don't get to go often anymore since it's on the opposite side of town so when we find ourselves nearby, we like to drop in. I love when they have seasonal drinks - my favorite is when they have the strawberry white mochas in February. On today's visit they had their fall specials, so I picked the Country Pumpkin Spice Latte which I always enjoy. It's made with caramel pecan so it's not too pumpkin-y and tastes great with oat milk. They always have great service here and the drinks come out quickly. I hope they'll continue to thrive another 7 years and more! read more

So spent day in Elk Grove before heading down to Sacramento for my Ironman weekend. One spot friend told me had to try if in the area. Rescate Coffee. Rescate Coffee is my ideal spot comes to cafe. Small local business owners. Amazing lattes! Nice assortment of pastries, sandwiches, and more. They have full beverage menu plus roast fresh coffee beans everyday and buy coffee beans by itself in pre pack bags. I believe they only have this one location. I really enjoy the interior decor. The menu board with all the wooden plank boards. Cool. They have nice display case for all the goodies. Lot of places inside to enjoy yourself and outside patio area. I ended up ordering snickerdoodle latte. Really good! If lived in Elk Grove would be a regular!!! read more

I come here all the time & never had a issue before. I came Sunday & literally dropped my coffee outside before drinking it. I went back in to tell the guy at the counter and he looked at me as if I was lying and was going to charge me for another drink. From the look of the menu, it looks heavily Mexican influenced with the names of the specialty drinks and Mexican chocolate ingredient along with cinnamon. Their iced Mayan mochas are a hit! My wife and I enjoy this drink so much! We also love the pepper-bacon croissant; it's buttery topped with crispy bacon and fried cheese. It's delicious! Rescate coffee declares itself to be Elk Grove's only local coffee roaster. Finding that out made me wish I had checked this place out sooner. I really liked the personal local atmosphere they had which included some interesting outside seating. Staff was really great and despite how busy it was service was really quick. The coffee was great and was pretty fairly priced for a local coffee roaster. I did like things like the lanes they had for drink pick-ups. It will be one of my go to coffee places when I pass through this part of EG. Not too many coffee places on the west side of Elk Grove but happy to see that a local coffee shop is thriving out here! read more

I would give zero stars, if there was an option to. Thought to get a coffee, but left with none after the frustration experienced. Inconsiderate and rather reckless move by this coffee shop to host an event with cars parked blocking the alley on both sides (even hours after the event was over) next to the car wash where customers would typically drive out. The only way out was to weave through cars waiting/actively pumping fuel at the gas station. Meanwhile, there were cars coming in to the lot through Elk Grove Blvd, making it challenging to even safely drive across to the gas station. I would hope that in the future, event planning would also keep customers and traffic safety in mind. A cup of coffee is not worth an accident or injury for anyone. Horrible experience today. They always been great with nice coffee flavor and not too sweet but the last two times I went, got the same less sweet vanilla latte, their latte just tastes watery/diluted. Even though there was a long line when we arrived, the staff moved things along efficiently, and we didn't wait long to place or receive our order. Appeared that everyone in the room was talking at once or perhaps trying to hear each other over the loud music playing. Initially decided to come here because it was the only coffee spot with great reviews on my road trip up north. Got the Vanilla Latte with Oat, Bacon and Pepper Jack Croissant, Chocolate Croissant and Maple Oatmeal. The Vanilla Latte with Oat is good, but not amazing. Initially it wasn't as sweet as I'd like but the barista was more welcome to add more vanilla for me. The female cashier's customer service was okay. Initially when she grabbed my pastries, I was expecting for her to warm them up but she didn't. I had to ask her to. Usually at coffee shops they will ask you if you want it warmed up. The bacon and pepper jack croissant was super yummy though. The male Barista was very nice. I heard him interacting with the customers and he seemed very kind and genuine and that he loves being there which I love. I feel like his energy brightened up the place. read more
