This is not a pleasant chore, but it has to be said…read more Overall, the work was rushed and shoddy. We asked him to blow the leaves off the back of our property, as well as remove small trees and brush. He only did a portion of the work, and we had to remind him we wanted the entire back done, despite making this a top priority in our first meeting. Even then he left out a portion, and had to be reminded again to do what had been asked. The flowers and plants were planted without due attention to detail, as well as insufficient fertilizing with the supplies we had bought for that purpose. We've had to go over all the plantings and do them properly afterwards. He transplanted some azaleas from the front to the back yard, and only one of the three was done properly. Again, we've had to fix what he had done improperly. The river rocks spread over our garden beds was done well at first, but as the job progressed it got sloppier. I spent quite a bit of time rectifying this situation by adding more rocks and making it neat. There's just very little attention to detail evident in the work he did, and not a great deal of care was applied. There was always a sense of the work being rushed instead of applying the care it needed. Our lawn has felt the effects from his truck and excavator driving on it, and some spots will not be growing back without replanting. It looked like a battlefield when he was done. If you do hire BDS, make sure you are watchful for his use of the truck and excavator. They can do real damage, as they did to our property. I will also add that he did damage to our driveway, and refuses to acknowledge it. We had a crack in the driveway before he came, and now it is much more than a crack, and that part of the driveway is collapsing into pieces. I asked him to send me pictures he said proved that he didn't do it, but he never did, despite being asked twice. The neighbors have also commented on the damage that he did. All I can say is, if you are considering BDS, you've been warned.

I received a letter from my mortgage company in February 2026 informing me that my mortgage cost was rising due to the increase of my insurance premium. Which all had to do with the age of my roof (21yrs old). I knew then that I had to get the roof replaced. Well a couple of weeks later I get a call from Logan Stotler with a company called United Contracting & Roofing and he stated that he was working in my area and wanted to know if he could come by and do a free roof inspection and I was like sure why not. Well I must say upon completion of the roof inspection and going over the cost for replacing it, I just knew that this was the company to go with. The process from start to finish was smooth and I could tell that he was not trying to get over on me or one up me, he was truly genuine and he earned my trust. I was concerned about the fact that I had solar panels and was hoping that they would not be an issue and they were not an issue at all. As a matter of fact I needed another company to service my solar panels as the company that installed them has since gone out of business, so this worked in my favor. I was so pleased with Logan's knowledge and expertise in helping me throughout the process and he always and I do mean that he always was available to answer any questions or concerns that I had. The guys that removed and installed the roof was so professional and clean up was exceptional. They went all over the yard with magnets to pick up any nails that may have fallen outside of the tarp areas. We've had many roofing companies show up over the years, but we've never really been ready to jump…read moreinto the whole process. Quite frankly, the whole thing seemed overwhelming. But when I met Tom, the timing couldn't have been better. We knew it was time and there was clearly hail damage. Tom was friendly, courteous, respectful of our time, and followed through with the things he said. He worked with us and our insurance company and made the entire process seamless. The process was so much easier than I thought it would be - all because we had Tom's help. The crew finished the work on our roof in a timely manner and they were all complete professionals. Matthew, the project manager, made sure he attended to all of the details. The crew worked diligently to protect our garden and outside equipment. They put a wooden box over my just bloomed iris and saved it, as well as a small Lenten rosebush. They also covered my husband's electric vehicle charger with a board. They did very fast and meticulous work, and when they cleaned up, they left our property better than they found it. They even offered to come back if we found any nails and do an additional sweep. (We did find some nails but very few in my estimation.) They covered everything with tarps and worked hard to clean up the property and leave it pristine. Everyone was friendly and they worked together as a team. It had been about four months since they completed our roof and it still looks wonderful! I can't recommend United Contracting and Roofing highly enough! In fact, I recommended them to a neighbor!
