I stumbled upon this B&B upon the website recommendation of a wine tour that I booked - - and could not have been happier with my 3-night stay! I travel A LOT for work (100+ nights/yr) and always stay in hotels. But the charming hospitality, modern conveniences, close proximity to town, and extreme attention to detail have made this little B&B one of my favorite stay experiences. Basically for 3 nights, I felt as though I was staying in my own little apartment - - my room had everything (and more) that I could have needed. Large balcony with picturesque views... modern bathroom with amenities... large spacious room.... super comfortable bed... desk complimentary WiFi that worked flawlessly! :) (much appreciated!) Raffaella & Lorenzo are the most gracious and generous hosts. I'd love to go back in a heartbeat. Good wi-fi, comfy bed, nice living room area and pretty bathroom (shower space is a bit small). One weird thing: we didn't have a phone in our room. They have a restaurant Donna Selvatica that has an amazing view on the wineries around and the service is very good. We went there for lunch and we were very well served on a nice table by the window. We even go offered an amouse-bouche, a gratin onion with parmesan cheese that was delicious. The dishes took a long time to arrive but they were all delicious. I got the raviolis plin and it was the best ravioli ever! My husband and our friend got both the tajarin with butter and parmesan and they said it was delicious also. As wine we ordered a bottle of Nebiolo from the area and it was a very good wine. Extra: they have the cutest dog that sometimes is at front desk. She is very nice and playful. She is very well behaved and quiet and a treat to play with if you are a dog person. The pool is a great place to kick back and relax before or after a day of wine tasting, and getting to play with Moon, their dog, made us miss our pups at home a little less. But the best part about Bricco is the hospitality of Livio and Claudia. From the welcome wine with cheese & salami, to the endless dinner recommendations and suggestions for the surrounding area to the evening nightcap of grappa, you couldnt ask for better service. They make you feel like you are part of their family and I was truly sad the day our stay ended. It's a true destination and without a doubt a great choice to just relax and unwind, or explore the local area. With only nine rooms- which by the way are insanely modernized, equipped with every amenity you can think of from jacuzzi tubs, to iphone docks, fluffy beds and uninterrupted views to wine country. AND Every room has either a steam bath or a sauna. Yep...it's pure luxury. The coolest part is that four of the rooms are old Victorian still style and the other five are modern. This is because a portion of the property is historical and then they built a modern wing- somehow it all works beautifully. While I didn't actually sleep here, I know all of this because I got a personal tour with the GM, Roberto. I was considering renting out the Palas for my wedding and we spent a few hours on the property. We got to see the rooms, the wine cellar, the tasting room and then we enjoyed a spectacular lunch on the terrace. The menu is elegant yet traditional Piemontese and the service is impeccable and first class, but unpretentious. And of course, the wine. You don't have to be a guest here to tour the vineyard and setup a tasting. They have a phenomenal tasting cellar....it's gorgeous and modern and elegant. Michele Chiarlo is the winemaker and owner of the vineyards and hotel. One of the top producers in the region. Wines are gorgeous. The cellar houses something like 50,000 bottles in addition to other top wines of the Langhe. This place is a dream and I will absolutely be back for another meal and definitely an overnight stay.
