We stayed in the villa which had perfect wifi, nice bedroom sizes (bed kinda felt like a cot though) and a kitchen with cookware/utensils/wine glasses etc. We had dinner here one night where I had my favorite gnocchi of the whole trip (melts in your mouth) and their breakfast spread was really delicious with cheese, meats, and the freshest juiciest tomatoes I've ever had. Besides all of these wonderful features, the price was also unbeatable. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for the curvy roads and we had rented a huge SUV (Italy is not made for big cars!!), so that made our stay more stressful than it had to be because I feared anytime we had to drive / leave the premises for the winery, dinner etc. The staff was unbelievably generous and understanding when we adjusted our plans to only stay 2 rather than 4 nights, and we could not be more grateful. We were sad to leave because the villa was the perfect size for our group of 5, and the hotel was perfect besides the distance from our plans / roads. I'd recommend staying here if you are looking to relax and stay on premises for most of the weekend; it has a very quiet, homey bed+breakfast feel that we loved.

The most beautiful views, great food and very nice room. We stayed in the villa in the back of the building. 2 floors, with 3 potential beds, it was really nice and comfortable. The pool area was very clean, very pretty and a nice size pool. The restaurant at the hotel was one of our favorite meals we had. Limited selection of food but a changing menu (daily), they want you to order ahead of time, and they have 3 course or 4 course option. We were not that hungry and only ordered 2-3 courses per person and they adjusted the price accordingly. Another amazing job by management. If you are brave enough for the roads and don't mind driving 1 hr + to any of the highlights of Tuscany this hotel is more than a treat.

Gabriel gave us interesting information about the Castle, which was built in the 11th century by Benedict monks! He showed us interesting things such as a hidden room where people can spy into the dining room through a hole in a painting, an underground tunnel, and a theater with its original backdrop from 1742. Don't forget to take a few pictures at the giant bench which is a few minutes' walk away. The view is gorgeous and the grounds are well maintained. For the tasting portion, we really enjoy the high quality of wine. Gabriel was also nice enough to let us sample a few other wines beyond the ones included in tasting, such as the dessert wine and the whites. Quite a few of us bought some bottles to take home. There are plenty of wineries in the area and we had visited quite a few of them during our three weeks in Tuscany. This is definitely one of the better ones, for the castle's history, the view, and the quality of wine.

Breakfast is pretty basic, without any walnuts or hazelnuts for the cereal. However, the scrambled eggs are real, not reconstituted. Dining outside on the patio is lovely. Asked reception about this and the there is a card that needs to be inserted in a slit to keep the power on. The maids pulled the card when they left and left Us in the dark... No one said a word about this at check in. Unprofessional. Next up I tried to take a shower and found lukewarm water. Disappointing. The shower controls have a safety button to keep one from blasting hot water but even a full tilt the water is just lukewarm. Unprofessional.

This place is about 30 minutes outside of Florence which we made that drive twice, once to explore the city and once to do a guided wine tour that left from Florence. The sunset here was beautiful, the room was clean, and the staff was so nice. We got massages in the spa as well and they were incredible. My husband is premiere elite with Marriott bonvoy and is suppose to be automatically promised a room with the best view and our first room was just a brick wall. We went back to the front desk and said something esp since it was our honeymoon and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a terrace view. I will say if you stay here take advantage of the free breakfast but go out of town for lunch and dinner. We did dinner at the resort the first night and waited an hour once seated to order... you can go to the cute town in barga to go out to eat. Many delicious food we found and cute bars. The rooms are very nice! We did a couples massage one day and loved it. Love the vibe at the pool also. Will be back for sure!
