I had the 2 meat platter, brisket, pastrami, Mac and Cheese, BBQ Potato Salad, and Coleslaw. The brisket was absolutely delicious, so tender, flavorful. I've never had brisket so tender. The pastrami was absolutely delicious. Probably the best pastrami I've ever had. I loved it, so tender. The Mac and Cheese was delicious, well seasoned. The potato salad was pretty good, potatoes cooked perfectly. The Coleslaw was bland. It desperately needs some vinegar or lemon juice. I'd have given 5 stars if the Coleslaw wasn't so disappointing. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat after shopping at leesburg outlets. He loves bbq so I found this place and saw that it had great reviews. We ordered cheese fries and they were okay but pretty basic cheese fries. However, right when they came out we were swarmed with a bunch of gnats that wouldn't leave us alone. We ordered a meat platter and the appearance of the food was not appetizing at all. We couldn't even finish our food because our appetite went away from the gnats flying all over our food and landing on it. I spent the whole time killing them and swatting them away. The only good thing we experienced was our server who was super friendly. The restaurant itself was pretty empty and quiet and we should've taken that as a sign. read more

We stopped at ResQ BBQ for an afternoon appetizer run and enjoyed our time there. The restaurant was pretty slow at that point with one other couple at a table and few gents at the bar so the service was attentive to us as we walked in. Just a couple appetizers for us and we opted for the BBQ chicken quesadilla and the pulled pork nachos. Both were very good and your could tell the BBQ skills were quite good as the meat was very fresh and flavorful. The table had a few different sauces available which was perfect to mix things up and try the various options. The food did take forever to come out especially given the restaurant was not crowded at all. Not sure if regular service would have been quicker but if the place was packed and service was that slow it would be a pretty slow go getting your food. Loved the vibes in the place with a couple games on the television and complete with fire department badges from across the country on the wall. There was a strong first responder theme throughout that certainly gave you a lot to take in while in the restaurant. Would certainly check this place out again if back in the area. read more

Solidly mediocre BBQ, especially for Loudoun County. My wife and I ordered 2 of the two meat platters; one w/ ribs and sausage, the other with pork and turkey. Sides were Mac & Cheese, Collards, baked beans, and green beans. It was bleh at best, and forgettable at worst. My sausage, aside from being room temperature when it arrived, tasted more like grocery store sausage than quality BBQ sausage. The ribs were ok, not terrible but not amazing. The pork needed more salt. The best meat was by far the turkey. As for the sides; the Mac & Cheese was on the bland side, the collards needed twice as much salt and/or bacon fat than they had, not to mention that they were warm not hot upon arrival, and the beans were mediocre. Unnecessarily awkward menu that had to be explained. Draft beer list had bizarre "second" beer options which made little sense. Server struggled to explain that "if the advertised beer is out, then the (second) listed beer took its place." Three or four beers were out, so, you could consider the "second" beer in small print. Made no sense. Then there's the menu. There is a fireman tie-in to the restaurant. The menu is segmented into "one alarm," "two alarm," "three alarm," "four alarm" sections. 90% of the American population would naturally think this is a reference to spiciness but here, the server described the "alarms" as different "vibes." Again, makes zero sense. It took a while to see the menu was just a random assortment of food with no real cohesion or theme. Then there's the table sauces. I was actually pissed about this one. There are 6 or so sauces available to add to your entree. The "hot" sauce is advertised as their hottest. Should be a "4 alarm," right? It was medium at best (I am not a huge spice fan, but I like to sample hot stuff from time to time). The hot sauce was legit insulting. It is American medium. Just a waste of time and a complete disappointment. The family joked that Gordon Ramsay would totally berate and scold the owners of this trainwreck. The ribs were moist with a good dry rub. I chose the sweet and mustard sauces which added flavor without overpowering. They offered gluten-free items including an enormous corn muffin and banana pudding dessert. Both were tasty traditional versions. For sides I had potato salad and Cole slaw. This was some of the best BBQ my extended family ever had! I ordered a bunch of things to cater a christening. Unfortunately, I provided ReQ with the wrong date, so when I showed up to get it there was no order ready. My fault totally! However, the crew did not miss a beat and asked if I could give them 15 minutes or so; they'd be able to complete it as their kitchen was turning things out all day. And so they did: brisket, pulled pork, chicken thighs, and sausage plus side ready to go. I ordered enough for 14, and it fed nearly double the portions. Went to hear local musician play and discovered new (to us) barbecue place with a true 'family' feel. Gluten free options, a myriad of different sauces and a wide menu including all the expected ribs, pork, chicken, etc. Ribs were cooked perfectly to fall-off-the-bone tenderness without being over cooked. Good variety on the beer/beverage list too. Service was team style so everyone from the owner to young trainees stopped by our table. In fact, the service really stood out. I never saw anyone not in motion. If they weren't serving, they were cleaning. We were sure that the hostess was a family member, as she literally cleaned floors, adjusted tables that were out of place, etc. A real sense of pride in the workplace. Full disclosure; I picked up the food to-go. I called in ahead and the gentleman was prompt and thorough over the phone. When I got there I gave the guy at the register my named then paid and my food was ready to go right away on a busy Saturday night. The appearance of the place was good. It felt cramped inside but that might have been because there wasn't an open seat in the whole place at 5:30 on a Saturday night. Bar was completely full and all of the tables from what I could see. I ordered the pulled pork platter with Mac and cheese with tots and I also ordered the brisket platter with Mac and cheese with green beans. The meats surprised me. The pulled pork was tender and slightly seasoned which was a change from what I've had in the past. The brisket was extremely tender and cooked well but it was basically shaved - super thin. The sides were nothing crazy in my opinion. Tots are tots. The green beans were cooked a little short for my liking but seasoned very well. The Mac and cheese had a real homemade feel to it - tasted good enough to eat but I couldn't taste the bacon. Major plus...they didn't skimp on the amount of food or serving sizes. The platters are $15+ and they put a ton of food in the containers. My wife and I both couldn't finish our meals...bonus lunch for tomorrow! From what I understand this was like a food truck for years and now a full up restaurant. I'll start by saying I'm a born and raised Kansas Citian, so I'm an admitted BBQ snob. I can usually find several good things to say about any BBQ spot anywhere in the country. However, all I can really say about ResQ is that I enjoyed one of the six sauces provided and one side was decent. My son and I shared a two meat platter with ribs and turkey. The ribs were mostly fat. The turkey was so dry it literally crumbled. We got the smoked Mac and cheese with bacon for one side. It had no smoked flavor and there was zero bacon to be found. It was basically mushy macaroni noodles with some kind of bland cheese. Literally NO flavor. My son loves Caesar salad so that was our second side. It was a large portion and very fresh. It was probably the best part of our meal, which is disappointing at a BBQ restaurant... The service was meh. Our server was kind but never came to check on us after our food was delivered and everyone's drinks had run dry halfway through their meal. This review is based on several visits. Overall this is a solid barbecue place. I absolutely enjoy the loaded nachos and I think it's a bargain for what you get. I really like the assortment of sauces which spans the gamut from sweet to hot and spicy. They have a great selection of alcohol and the service has always been good. The bbq is top notch, the sauces are amazing and all of the sides compliment the wide variety of bbq choices very well. The bartenders make incredible cocktails, and the restaurant features a WIDE variety of excellent bourbons. It's apparent that the owners put their heart and soul into this place.
