There is a Country Pride restaurant inside that looks like it would cook up good old fashioned delicious truck stop grub. Like the cook says in the movie City Slickers "It's hot, brown, and plenty of it". Wish we could have stayed for lunch. TA is a place to gas up, get a snack or a meal and go. The Convenience store has some good things but it's not my first choice since I don't use diesel anymore.

It's made a discovery'. They offer cinnamon sticky rolls here for real. It's the real deal too. It's a true Cinnabun! That fork penetrates and you get that taste. It's so delicious. How long has it been since I've have had a real cinnamon roll! Can you please tell that I'm starving and this warm cinnamon rolls that has caramel all over the top of it was my blessing in disguise . Aside from the cinnamon rolls this little stop is well lit and seems safe. The rest rooms are on the upper floors and way in the back of the store. The store is organized particularly nice. Our familiarity of the brand brought us to choose this stop here. They offer a small little place to dine and eat. The twins ended up with a pizza and some sort of snack. They should fix the shower. However workers there so nice and kind. I had trouble to get into the shower, however the worker came up and ask if I need help I said yes the guy just opened up the door for me. That was very nice of him. The boys got fast food and we were all going to eat outdoors with the pups despite the heat and humidity. There just weren't any spaces for travel trailers available and we almost left and decided to just circle back into the lot, park on the curb in front of the pumps and sit on the curb and eat. Would be 5 stars, but for a travel stop, it wasn't super travel friendly pulling a tiny trailer even.

Shower #5 in North Platte is easily on par with Shower #10 at the Troutdale TA. Of course, neither of these are in the same class as Shower #1 at Sapp Bros in Denver or any of the bathtubs at Little America, but, it is nice to know this is here. The Denny's underwent remodelling which removed all the outlets at the booths, continuing Corporate's war on truck drivers. Now the only outlets are at the counter, which isn't so bad if you need to charge your phone, but, it is a bit awkward when you want to use your computer to pay bills or some such. Food is still good and I was glad that they still had the Denny's as a lot of them are pulling their sit-down restaurants out. Am definitely looking forward to coming back!

The cashier asked how much gas I wanted to buy, I said I was filling up and had no idea what it would cost. She said I could either leave my credit card with her and go fill up or give her a high figure and the remainder would be refunded on my account. I went with a cost I figured would be close. Tapped my card and the pad said to press "cancel" for credit (I get points to use credit) but she said I needed to put in my PIN. I said credit please, and she said she'd have to start over. Finally got through what should have been an extraordinarily simple transaction. Meanwhile my passengers wanted to use the restrooms but they were closed for construction and a sign pointed them to porta potties outside. Unbelievable. The LAST time I will go to a Flying J anywhere.
